Help me lord

Your body is ailing, your resources are failing, and the weight of debt presses hard upon you. This is a heavy burden, and it is no sin to cry out for relief. Yet in such times, the Lord often asks of us what He asked the blind men who sought His touch: "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" He does not need your petition to inform Him; He tests your heart to draw forth genuine faith. So I ask you now: when you pray for healing and provision, do you trust in His power alone, or do you cling secretly to the hope of human solutions? The illness, the lack, the unemployment of your son, these are not signs of God's absence but of His fatherly discipline, allowed that you might turn from any earthly confidence and rest your hope entirely in His mercy.

Consider your soul even as you ask for bodily comfort. The Lord often delays outward healing to accomplish a deeper cure. You mention many responsibilities at home, and I know these weigh heavily. But the greatest responsibility you carry is the salvation of your own soul and the souls of those under your roof. Is there any sin cherished in your heart, any root of bitterness or greed that these trials are meant to expose? For the Lord, being rich in mercy, does not simply remove our crosses; He uses them to detach us from love of the world. Your sickness and poverty can become a holy fire that burns away dross, if you accept them with repentance and patience.

As for your son, pray earnestly that he may secure a permanent job, but pray with this understanding: no earthly employment can give true security. The Lord who commands us to seek first His kingdom and righteousness knows your needs. Perhaps your son's season of lack is a call for him to examine his own life, to forsake any idle or sinful habits, and to pursue diligence and faithfulness in small things. Encourage him not to rely on the arm of man, but to learn what the Apostle meant when he said, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstance." For it is better to have little with the fear of God than great revenues with trouble.

I do not diminish your suffering. It is real and painful. Yet I urge you to consider that the afflictions of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed. Your earthly body is fleeting; your earthly debts will pass away. But the soul endures forever. So take courage: bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. Continue in steadfast prayer, not with words only but with a life that testifies to your faith. Let the unbelieving see your patience and glorify God in the day of visitation. The Lord who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all will with Him freely give you all things needful. Only do not faint in this season of testing. The Word of God has been spoken to you many times; now let it take deep root and bear fruit in patient endurance, and you will see the salvation of our God.

I hear the cry of your heart in this request, and I want you to know that you are not forgotten. When the body keeps breaking down and the pressure of debt piles up alongside the needs of those you love, it’s easy to feel completely overwhelmed. But there is hope, and there is help.

Jesus dealt with every kind of sickness during his ministry, skin diseases, long-term bleeding, fevers, even life-threatening conditions. Sometimes he healed instantly with a word; other times he touched someone, or simply sent them home to discover the healing had already happened. And there was even a case where a man’s sight returned in stages. So don’t think that a slow, gradual improvement is any less divine. God designed the processes by which our bodies repair themselves, and he can work through them as truly as through a sudden miracle. Whether the relief you need for your bladder, your skin, and your stress comes in a moment or over many months, it is still his healing hand.

At the same time, we have to be honest that Scripture does not promise physical healing in every single situation this side of eternity. The apostle Paul pleaded three times for a “thorn” to be removed, but God instead gave him sufficient grace to carry it. That doesn’t mean you stop asking; it means you keep bringing your need to the One who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows, and yes, our infirmities, as Matthew reminds us when he quotes Isaiah. Place yourself before him daily and say, “Lord, I trust you to heal me, but more than that, I trust you to hold me and provide what I must have for today.”

Your financial burden and your son’s job search weigh just as heavily. The wisdom of Proverbs warns against telling a neighbor in need to come back tomorrow when you have the means to help today. God cares deeply about these practical, daily shortages. As you cry out to him, also let the body of believers around you carry some of the load. In the early church, the sick were brought to the apostles, and elders prayed over them, anointing them with oil. That practice wasn’t a spectacle; it was the family of God stepping into a brother or sister’s distress. If you are part of a local fellowship, let the elders pray with you about your health. Let trusted friends know the specific job situation so they can keep their eyes open and lift your son before the Lord. You don’t have to bear the weight alone.

I have seen people sink under similar trials, and I have seen God deliver them in unpredictable ways, sometimes by opening a door right when the debt seemed impossible, sometimes by quiet coaching their body back to strength. What I know is that Jesus has authority over every power that threatens you: sickness, poverty, anxiety. None of it can separate you from his love or outlast his purpose for you. He is refining something in you that will outlast this brief life. In the meantime, keep your requests known to him with thanksgiving, and take the practical steps that lie before you today. One day at a time.

You are in my prayers. May you sense the nearness of Christ, and may the peace that surpasses understanding guard your heart and mind in him.

It has been on our hearts to lift you up before our Heavenly Father, asking Him to bring healing to your body—specifically for the incontinence, stress, and skin issues that have been weighing so heavily on you. We also hold your son before the Lord, asking that He open the right doors for a permanent job, bringing stability and relief from the debt that burdens your family. May the Lord grant him favor and guide his steps into the work He has prepared for him. We know how deeply you long for peace and restoration in every area of your life, and we stand in agreement with you, believing that God hears your cries and will answer in His perfect timing.
