I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, for it is God who works in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure. We hear your crying and your earnest prayer, and we join our faith with yours for lasting and true deliverance and complete freedom, for the glory of God.

We know that these sins of pornography, masturbation, flirting and all sexual sin are not small matters before a holy God. His Word calls us to flee sexual immorality and to honor Him with our bodies. For it is written, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 and again, For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5. Even looking with lust is addressed by our Lord when He said, Everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28. Flirting with the opposite sex outside of a committed courtship aimed toward godly marriage between a man and a woman is a snare that feeds lust and opens the door to fornication, and we encourage you to turn from it completely and to pursue purity and holiness.

Yet we also rejoice that you have not hidden your sin but have confessed it and cried out to Jesus, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. The Lord sees your tears and hears your prayers. He is merciful and mighty to deliver. There is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to the Father except through Jesus Christ, and we thank you for calling upon His name, for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.

Lasting victory will not come by willpower alone but by the renewing of your mind and walking by the Spirit. We encourage you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. This means taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 and filling your mind with what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report. Philippians 4:8. Hide His Word in your heart that you might not sin against Him. Psalm 119:11. We urge you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever, to cut off every source and occasion, for our Lord taught us to deal radically with what causes us to stumble, and to lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us. Hebrews 12:1. This may mean removing access to devices or places or media that tempt you, installing filters, bringing your struggle into the light with a mature, godly and trustworthy Christian brother for accountability, and fleeing temptation rather than fighting it up close. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. And we are told, Walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with our brother, thanking You for the improvement You have already given and for Your mercy that has sustained him through tears and prayers. We ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him. Philippians 1:6. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him. Psalm 51:10. Renew his mind, make him very wise in Your Word, and teach him to discern and hate evil and to cling to what is good. Give him understanding, speak to him, and lead him in paths of righteousness. Help him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, to flee from every appearance of evil, and to walk in holiness. Strengthen him by Your Holy Spirit to put to death the deeds of the body. Romans 8:13. When temptation comes, show him the way of escape and give him the courage to take it. Surround him with godly counsel and fellowship, and if it is Your will, prepare him for a godly marriage that honors You, where his desires can be fulfilled righteously within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. Let his life be a testimony of Your delivering power, so that these sins will forever be far from him. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, in the Word daily, and in fellowship, trusting that He who promised is faithful. Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:7-8.

We are grateful you wrote so openly after praying and crying through this for so long. Hearing that you have seen real improvement encourages us greatly, and we thank the Lord Jesus with you for what He has already done. Your longing for that change to be lasting and rooted deep in your heart is something we want to carry to God with you.

We have found that lasting freedom often grows not only through sincere prayer in private, but through steady daily help alongside it. When temptation has been a long pattern, having one or two trusted people who know your story and can check in honestly makes a real difference. If you do not already have that, would you consider inviting a mature, same sex believer or a Christian counselor to walk with you regularly, someone you can be fully honest with about struggles and victories.

It can also help to look practically at when and where flirting or pornography has been most tempting, and to put clear, simple boundaries in place there, like keeping devices in open areas and avoiding private messaging that could lead back.

We are praying for you.

Father, thank You for the work You have already begun in our brother's life. Give him renewed strength, wisdom and mercy in the days ahead. Guard his mind and heart, lead him to the right support, and help him walk step by step in purity for Your glory. In Jesus' name, amen.

We give thanks with you and for you, that the Lord Jesus Christ has already wrought a great improvement in you, and to Him be all the glory. It is well to see that you ascribe this to His grace alone, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. You could not have turned your own heart, nor cleansed your own affections, for if you have been delivered at all from spiritual bondage, it is the Lord Jesus who has loosened the captive, and it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

You have prayed and cried much, and you ask for a lasting and true deliverance, that these sins may be forever far from you. Let it never be forgotten that in all that God does, He acts from good reasons, and that which you receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand. He fills the bitter cup as well as the sweet goblet, and He sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace. Your tears are not lost upon Him. He hears the cry of those who sorrow over their sins and seek divine deliverance from them, and from the height of His sanctuary He looks down in pity upon those who are fettered and resolves to set them free.

Hear the gracious word which is the ground of all our hope, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit of hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has not only invented the way, He has found the ransom. His own Son has borne the penalty of all our iniquities. Therefore God has given commandment to save you, and you shall be saved, saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins, saved from the devil and from evil company. This is a gift of divine love, and unless a supernatural power is put forth in it, any form of deliverance from sin is worth nothing. You must be born again from above if you are to live above.

And now, as you would be kept unspotted from the world, hear this further inference, that in order to your sanctification and your deliverance from the power of sin, you must look to your heavenly Father altogether and alone. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world, but keeps himself from the spots of the world. Above all, cry to God to preserve you from evil. He has taught many to say, He has delivered us from the fascinating power of sin, from the power of darkness, and He has taught them the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, so that they can say, now you tempt me in vain. Flee those places and companions that would stain you, and turn away from that which can be of no service to you. The only hope we can have of eternal life is by being parted from sin, for there shall never enter into heaven anything that defiles, and we have from day to day to fight against sin till it is utterly put away from us.

We will pray for you as you have desired.

O Lord our God, Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, from whom every good gift and every perfect gift comes down, look in mercy upon this soul who has cried unto Thee with many tears. We thank Thee for what Thou hast already done, for Thou hast kept back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing. Perfect what Thou hast begun. Work in him a renewed mind, and make him very wise with that wisdom which is from above, that he may hate sin and love holiness. Speak to him, give him understanding, and grant him full deliverance through the ransom which Thou hast found, even Jesus Christ Thy Son. Deliver him from going down to the pit, and deliver him also from the power of darkness, that he may walk before Thee in purity, keeping himself unspotted from the world, and may live to declare the works of the Lord. Preserve him from evil, establish his heart, and let his affliction and his chastening yield the profitable fruit of righteousness, to the glory of Thy name. I give thanks with you for the improvement God has already granted, and with you I give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for it. To see these chains begin to loosen is a sign of His mercy at work, and your tears and prayers have not been in vain, for God looks to the one who is meek and contrite and trembles at His word.

You have asked rightly, not to remain as you were, but to be purified and converted and made new. The harlots and sinners who entered the kingdom did not enter while continuing in their sin, but after they obeyed and believed and were cleansed. So it is with every lust of the flesh. God does not leave His children as horses mad with lust, but makes them new, and calls them to be an example in purity, in self control and in a life that shows His power to change us.

Lasting deliverance comes not all at once in a moment, but as we learn virtue step by step. First we put away one thing, then the next, writing them upon the soul with practice and patience. You have begun to turn from pornography and sexual sin, and now you must also cut away what carries that lust forward. Flirting, filthy talk and joking, lingering looks and easy access to images on a screen, these are the vehicles that bring lust back into the heart. If you starve them, the passion itself grows weaker. If you feed them, it revives. Practice continence, guard your eyes and ears, keep your conversation pure, and fill your mind with Scripture and prayer. Pride also opens the door to the enemy, but humility, fasting, honest confession and steady fellowship keep the soul low before God and safe.

I pray for you now as you have asked. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on Your servant who seeks You with tears. Forgive what is past, cleanse his heart completely, and renew his mind. Grant him wisdom to see the traps before they spring, and strength to turn away and do whatever is needed to remove these sins forever. Make him temperate and watchful, gentle and contrite in spirit, and keep him far from every occasion of sin. Speak to him through Your word, give him understanding, and establish him in lasting purity for Your glory. Let the work You have begun be brought to completion, so that he may live as a living example of Your grace and power to save and to keep.

Continue to pray, to watch, and to walk in the light. Do not be discouraged if the battle is still long. God who has granted you this beginning is faithful to grant you the end, as you remain near to Him and walk in obedience day by day.
