Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life, breaking the chains of pornography, masturbation, and sexual sin. Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unheard, and we stand with you in giving all glory to Jesus Christ, who alone has the power to deliver and transform. The fact that you are seeking lasting victory for His glory is evidence of His work in you, and we are confident He will complete it.

The sins you describe, pornography, masturbation, and flirting outside the bounds of godly marriage, are forms of sexual immorality that Scripture clearly condemns. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, we are commanded, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." These struggles are not merely personal failures but offenses against the Holy Spirit who dwells within you. Yet, the same passage reminds us that we have been bought with a price, Christ’s blood, so we are no longer slaves to sin but instruments of righteousness.

Your desire for deliverance is not in vain. Psalm 51:10-12 declares, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit." This is the cry of every believer who longs to walk in purity, and God delights to answer such prayers. However, we must also recognize that true freedom requires more than just the removal of sin, it requires the filling of the Holy Spirit and the renewing of our minds. Romans 12:2 urges us, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is not just about physical temptation but about deeper issues of the heart, idolatry, loneliness, pride, or a lack of intimacy with God. In Matthew 5:28-29, Jesus warns, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna." This is not a call to literal self-mutilation but a sobering reminder of the seriousness of lust and the lengths to which we must go to guard our hearts. We must ruthlessly cut off anything, whether media, relationships, or habits, that feeds these temptations.

Your mention of flirting with the opposite sex also warrants biblical correction. While friendship and godly interaction with the opposite sex are not sinful, flirting outside the context of pursuing a godly marriage is unwise and can lead to emotional or physical impurity. Proverbs 4:23-27 instructs, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. Put away from yourself a perverse mouth. Don’t let your eyes look aside, and don’t let your eyelids flutter. Make level the path of your feet, and let all of your ways be established. Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil." If your interactions with the opposite sex are not leading toward marriage or are causing you to stumble, it is time to set boundaries and seek accountability.

We also want to encourage you to take practical steps in your battle against these sins. First, confess your struggles to a trusted, mature believer who can pray with you and hold you accountable. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Accountability is not a sign of weakness but of wisdom. Second, fill your mind with Scripture and godly content. Psalm 119:9-11 asks, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I have sought you with my whole heart. Don’t let me wander from your commandments. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Memorize verses that speak to purity and call upon them in moments of temptation. Third, flee temptation. If certain websites, social media accounts, or relationships are stumbling blocks, remove them entirely. 2 Timothy 2:22 exhorts, "Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

Most importantly, draw near to God. Your victory is not found in your own strength but in abiding in Christ. John 15:4-5 reminds us, "Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Spend time in prayer, worship, and the Word daily. The more you seek His presence, the less power sin will have over you.

Let us pray together for your complete deliverance and transformation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life. Lord, You see the heart that longs for purity and the tears that have been shed in repentance. We ask that You would complete the good work You have begun. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them. Wash them thoroughly from their iniquity and cleanse them from their sin.

Father, we ask for Your deliverance from every chain of sexual immorality. Break the power of pornography, masturbation, and ungodly flirting in their life. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they are no longer slaves to sin but instruments of righteousness. Renew their mind daily through Your Word, that they may prove what is Your good, pleasing, and perfect will. Give them wisdom to flee temptation and to guard their heart with all diligence.

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly accountability, believers who will pray for them, encourage them, and hold them to Your standards. Help them to confess their struggles and to walk in the light, as You are in the light. Father, if there are any relationships or habits that are leading them astray, reveal them and give them the strength to cut them off. Let their interactions with the opposite sex be pure, honorable, and directed toward godly marriage if that is Your will for them.

We pray that You would fill every void in their heart with Your presence. Where there has been loneliness, let them find comfort in You. Where there has been pride, let them walk in humility. Where there has been idolatry, let them worship You alone. Father, draw them so close to You that sin loses its appeal. Let them find their satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the deepest longings of their heart.

We declare over them the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Lord, make them aware of Your escape routes in every moment of temptation. Strengthen them to choose righteousness over sin, no matter the cost.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use their testimony for Your glory. Let their story of deliverance be a light to others who are struggling in the same areas. May they walk in the freedom Christ died to give them, not just for their own sake, but so that others may see Your power at work and be drawn to You.

We ask all these things in the powerful, precious name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved and the only Name by which we have access to You. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust You to complete the work You have begun. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We join you in giving thanks for the real improvement you’ve seen, what a mercy that the Lord has already met you with such grace. Crying out to Him and seeing change is never wasted, and we believe He will complete the work He has begun.

Lasting freedom from deep-set sexual struggles usually grows through a daily, deliberate journey rather than a single dramatic moment. Often God chooses to transform us step by step, renewing our minds as we cooperate with His Spirit over time. That’s not a lack of deliverance; it’s the faithful, normal path of sanctification. Each small victory, each day you turn from temptation, is His work in you.

One practical anchor many have found helpful is to walk this out with a brother who understands. Could you ask a mature Christian man you trust to meet with you regularly for honest accountability and prayer? Support groups, whether church-based or a solid Christ-centered recovery group, can also be a lifeline, breaking the isolation that fuels these struggles. Beyond that, guarding your mind by filling it intentionally with what is pure, noble, and praiseworthy helps starve old patterns and rewire your heart.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this brother’s honesty and for the freedom he has already tasted. Grant him the full, lasting deliverance he seeks. Renew his mind daily; give him deep, practical wisdom to recognize and flee temptation. In Your mercy, show him any hidden roots and speak Your healing into every place of need. Steady his heart with hope and surround him with trustworthy companions for the journey. Amen.

How gracious it is to hear that there has been a great improvement in your struggle against these sins of the flesh. Give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ indeed, for it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. The pangs of conscience that drove you to tears and cries were the Holy Spirit’s own convicting work, a sour taste of sin’s bitterness that teaches a lasting lesson. Yet beware of resting in partial victory as though the battle were won. The arrow of temptation often finds its mark just where sin has been, and Satan will shoot his poisoned darts again. Any sin, if we cling to it, brings forth death.

But know this: deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Where we look to Jesus for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. You do not wrestle alone in this mire. The Lord Jesus has entered into the house of bondage and leads His prisoners forth. Has He not already lifted the light of His countenance upon you? When you have confessed and wept, have you not been restored? Then press forward, not by your own strength, but by the living, loving, lasting union you have with Christ if you are truly His. That union is not a temporary truce; it is an everlasting covenant. He will keep you unspotted from the world’s puddles, if you abide in Him.

Still, take careful heed. Do not pretend that secret sin can coexist with this union. If you are born again from above, the Holy Spirit will renew your mind and make you very wise, showing you whatever it takes, a cutting off of the right hand or a plucking out of the right eye, to remove these things forever. Use every means: flee flattery and flirtation as you would a leper’s touch; starve lust by feeding on Christ; count the rust of worldly pleasure as that which brings sores to the soul. And when you feel the despairing thought that God’s ear is shut to such a sinner, silence the accuser with the gospel: ā€œI have found a ransom.ā€ The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin as we walk in the light. Not a partial cleansing, but a full one.

Chastisement may still come, for the Father often makes us feel that sin brings sorrow, not as punishment but as cure. Yet faith, looking to the risen Lord, can say with boldness, ā€œI shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.ā€ Go now to His table, where the bread never grows stale, and there renew your vows. Boast of His deliverance, and let your very testimony charm the griefs of others to rest. I join my prayers with yours, that the Lord will show you mercy, speak peace to your heart, and grant that these sins shall forever be far from you, to the end that you may be a living witness of His keeping power. Fight on, with tears if need be, but never with doubt of His final victory in you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You give thanks for the ground already gained, and rightly so, for this is the kindness of God drawing you back from the cliff’s edge. But let no one think the battle is won because the first assaults have been beaten back. The improvement you see is the work of grace, yet the continued need for cleansing shows the flesh still wages war against the Spirit. The goads of those thoughts, sharpened from beneath by old affections, can still pierce the mind if vigilance slackens. Do not imagine a single decisive blow will end this. The renewal must be in the spirit of your mind. A mind not yet deeply grounded, still wavering, is what makes such impulses youthful lusts, whether the body is young or old. To be renewed is not to become someone else, but for the selfsame thing that has grown old in corruption to be changed in what is accidental to it. The subject remains, but the Spirit will not endure old deeds. Cry out for this renewal, for God alone can reforge the inner man.

But you must also do whatever it takes, and this is where many stumble. They weep and pray, yet their hands do not labor. Consider how gold is found, with much labor, with concentration of mind, with enquiry of every one, with travel from home. Do you seek lasting deliverance with anything like this intensity? Do you not weep for an hour, then open the same door to the imagination through an unguarded glance or an idle wandering of thought? Flee youthful imaginations. To flee means not merely to resist when they arrive, but to starve them of provision. Learn first the simple letters of virtue, as children do. You cannot leap to the heights of continence while still clutching the alphabet of lust. Practice not speaking evil. Practice declining the curious look. Practice a sober mind that is not dissolved by every trivial grief or bodily impulse. Then proceed to another row: not envying, not being gluttonous. From these pass on to the things of the Spirit, write them upon your soul line by line. You seek a lasting removal of these sins forever, but see whether you have even begun to curb the lesser habits that feed the greater. One who would master fornication must first chain the belly, bridle the tongue, and discipline the eyes. God stores His aid for souls who thus order their steps. The Spirit does not descend upon a disorderly life; He requires a ground prepared by such modest victories.

Yet do not measure your hope by your own strength. Cast the whole upon God and your hope in Him, drawing pledges for the future from His past mercies. He who granted improvement can surely perfect it, for His promises are not given to push us into dangers, but to set us above them. He did not deliver Paul from all buffeting, but gave him grace sufficient, and in a short sentence fixed in his mind the doctrine that delivered him from despair. Your own warfare serves this very purpose, to teach you that the gain of serving God lies not in a life free from trouble, but in deliverance from slavery to lifeless passions. The pleasure of lust is brief, lasting but an hour like a spectator in the theatre, yet afterwards paining more grievously than any sting. The pure heart, by contrast, knows a spiritual song and a delight forever vigorous in the soul. Keep that contrast always before your eyes. When the temptation calls, answer it with the memory of the gall that follows. God will speak to you not in a voice from the cloud, but in this very understanding given through the struggle. Continue in prayer, but let it be prayer joined to a sober and ordered life, fleeing every occasion, and He will show you the mercy that leads not only to pardon, but to the renewal of your mind. Stand fast, therefore. Do not let the sorrow of the ongoing fight make you impatient, for many share in the grief of this war, though the sources differ. Persevere, and what now requires tears will become a crown.

Your thanksgiving belongs where you have placed it: in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. Improvement in this battle is mercy, not your own achievement, and I join you in asking for more. Your request for lasting and true deliverance is right, because the law of God was never meant only to manage outward behavior. It exposes the desire itself. A person can think he is safe because he has not acted, while coveting and lusting are already sin within. That means flirting cannot be treated as harmless. It is feeding the same fire you are asking God to put out.

Pornography follows a pattern. It opens the mind to images and then demands more and more to produce the same excitement. What it plants does not simply vanish; it has to be starved and washed out. So do whatever it takes, as you asked. Close the doors to your eyes and your thoughts. Keep your heart with all diligence. Do not entertain the smooth words that invite compromise.

The deeper answer is not only self-control. In Christ your old self was crucified with him, so that the body of sin might be put out of business. A dead man is hard to tempt. Count yourself dead to that old life and alive to God through Jesus Christ. Yield your body and your eyes to God as instruments of righteousness. The law in your members will keep warring, but there is a stronger law: the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. That is what sets you free from the law of sin and death.

Be honest before God. Do not cover sin, because the one who conceals it will not prosper, but the one who confesses and forsakes it finds mercy. If you confess your sins, he is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse. Do not let either guilt or pride drive you. In Christ there is no condemnation for those who are in him, but that grace is not permission to practice sin. Christ was manifested to take away sins and to destroy the works of the devil, so the direction of your life must be toward righteousness, even when you stumble. The very fact that you are crying out for more is a sign that the Spirit is stirring you. Let that cry become action.

I do pray with you now: Lord Jesus, you have begun a good work in this life. Complete it. Renew the mind, make the heart wise, and give such hatred of sin that it is kept far away. Deliver from every hold of pornography, masturbation, and flirtation. Let your word wash out the filth. Let your Spirit so fill the heart that there is no room for the old desires. Keep this one from every path that leads back into captivity, and make the deliverance lasting and true for the glory of God. In Jesus' name, amen.
