I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in this battle, giving all glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone has the power to break every chain. The progress you’ve seen is evidence of His faithfulness, and we rejoice with you in the work He has already done. Yet we also recognize the depth of the struggle, for these sins wage war against the soul, seeking to enslave and defile what God has called holy. But take heart, greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

The sins you’ve named, pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure intent, and sexual immorality, are not merely bad habits but violations of God’s design for purity and self-control. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These words are not meant to condemn but to awaken us to the sacredness of our bodies and the seriousness of this battle. The enemy would have you believe these sins are harmless or inevitable, but God calls you to holiness, and He provides the way out (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Your desire for lasting victory is a sign of the Holy Spirit’s work in you. True freedom is not found in mere behavior modification but in the transformation of your heart and mind. We must address the root, not just the fruit. Often, these struggles are fed by loneliness, idleness, ungodly influences, or deeper wounds that need healing. Ask the Lord to search your heart: "Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way" (Psalm 139:23-24). Are there areas where you’ve allowed compromise, perhaps in what you watch, listen to, or the company you keep? Are there unmet needs or past hurts that you’ve tried to numb with these sins? Bring these to the cross, for Christ’s blood covers all, and His grace is sufficient to heal and restore.

We also encourage you to take practical steps to guard your heart and mind. Job said, "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman" (Job 31:1). This is wisdom. Flee temptation, do not linger in it or flirt with it. If certain websites, social media accounts, or even relationships are stumbling blocks, cut them off without hesitation. Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29). This is not a call to self-mutilation but to radical obedience. Replace these habits with godly disciplines, prayer, Scripture, fasting, and fellowship with believers who will encourage you in righteousness.

And let us not forget the power of accountability. The enemy thrives in secrecy, but light exposes darkness. "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16). Seek out a trusted, mature believer, perhaps a pastor or a brother in Christ, with whom you can share your struggle and who will pray with you and hold you accountable. There is no shame in this; it is a mark of humility and a step toward freedom.

Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for the progress You’ve brought, for the tears shed in repentance, and for the hunger for holiness that You’ve placed within him. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You’ve begun. Break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of lust, and every lie of the enemy that says this battle cannot be won. Father, we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are making a way where there seems to be no way.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You would wash him clean by Your blood, renew his mind by Your Word, and fill him afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Where there is weakness, grant strength. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is shame, replace it with the righteousness that is found in You alone. Father, we pray that You would give him a holy hatred for sin and a deep love for purity. Let him not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2), so that he may prove what is Your good, acceptable, and perfect will.

We ask that You would surround him with godly influences, men who will sharpen him, encourage him, and walk with him in this journey. Give him wisdom to flee temptation and the courage to stand firm in the face of it. Father, we pray that You would heal any wounds or voids in his heart that the enemy has exploited. Fill him with Your love, Your peace, and Your purpose. Let him know that he is not defined by his struggles but by Your grace and the identity You’ve given him as Your beloved son.

We also pray for deliverance, Lord. You are the God who sets the captives free, and we declare that freedom over this brother’s life. Let every spirit of lust, perversion, and bondage be bound and cast out in the name of Jesus. Let every ungodly habit be broken, and let every thought be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Father, we ask that You would give him a fresh revelation of Your mercy and Your power. Speak to him in dreams, in Your Word, and through the counsel of godly men. Let him hear Your voice clearly, and give him the grace to obey instantly.

Lord, we ask that You would also prepare him for the godly marriage You have for him, if that is Your will. Let him not seek a relationship out of loneliness or lust but out of a desire to honor You and reflect Christ’s love for the Church. Until that time, let him walk in purity, contentment, and trust in You. And if he stumbles, Lord, let him not wallow in guilt but run to You for forgiveness and restoration. Your mercies are new every morning, and Your faithfulness is great (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. We declare that this brother is more than a conqueror through Him who loved him (Romans 8:37). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in his life, for Your glory and for his good. Amen.

Brother, do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The road to freedom is a journey, but it is one that you do not walk alone. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and that power is greater than any sin or temptation. Keep pressing into Jesus. Keep running to the cross. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. And remember, victory is not the absence of struggle but the presence of Christ in the midst of it. He is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

We are so encouraged by the improvement you have seen, that is real, and it tells us God is at work in your life. The tears you have shed are not wasted; He has been close to you in every bit of this battle. Thank you for sharing that hope with us, because it stirs our own faith.

We do not want the remaining struggle to overshadow the progress you have made, but we also hear how deeply you long to be completely free. That desire itself is a gift. You asked for prayer that God would show you mercy, speak to you, and give you understanding and deliverance, and we believe He is answering that, even now, as you continue to turn toward Him instead of hiding in shame.

One practical thing we have seen help many people walking a similar road is not just fighting alone. Finding a mature, safe brother in Christ, someone you trust completely, maybe a pastor or a spiritually solid friend, and letting them in on the battle can be a game-changer. Meeting regularly to be honest, pray together, and have someone ask you the hard questions takes a lot of the secret power out of temptation. Is there someone like that you could reach out to this week? It can feel scary, but stepping into the light with another believer often brings new strength.

The tears and cries that have mingled with your prayers bear witness that the Spirit of God is not far from you. It is cause for rejoicing when the chains of darkness grow slack, and any measure of victory is tasted, let all glory be to Him who has begun this work. Yet your very request proves that you feel the drag of the old nature, and that is as it should be, for whatever strength we think we have, if it is our own, it will one day fail us. The flesh is weak, and the sin that dwells within us is ever ready to regain its mastery unless we are daily renewed by the power of God.

You have cried for deliverance, be assured that deliverance from the power of sin is as much a work of God as deliverance from its guilt. No man can break these iron bands by his own struggling. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, every attempt at reform is worthless. You must be kept by the same hand that first plucked you from the pit. Look, then, away from self to Christ, for there is no true liberty but that of which He makes you free. He has found a ransom, and His blood cleanses from all sin those who walk in the light. When sin is confessed and forsaken, the light of His countenance is lifted up again, have you not proved this already?

Yet hear a word of searching truth. Holiness is not a thing of sentiment only, but practical, vital, personal, "without holiness no one shall see the Lord." It is the opposite of every form of uncleanness. If the heart should begin, even in secret, to suck in the sweets of former lusts, it is unsound in the sight of God. Any sin, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. Do not look back upon past sin without sorrow, and do not imagine that you can wallow in the mire of secret sin and yet belong to Christ, that cannot be. Keep yourself unspotted from the world's puddles.

But take courage: the Lord who foreknew every sin you would commit, entered into covenant with you notwithstanding all that foreknown iniquity. Nothing new can arise to alter that covenant. Those whom He saves, He keeps. The truly converted heart longs to be entirely free from sin, not because of slavish fear, but because its new nature abhors it. The work He has begun He will carry on; the mind He will renew; the wisdom He will impart. Only be diligent to use the means He has appointed, flee from temptation, fill your mind with Scripture, and cry hourly for the renewing grace of the Holy Spirit. Go, and sin no more, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith.

You have cried out to the Lord, and He has begun a good work in you. That improvement is His mercy, a sign that the Spirit is stirring within your mind. But do not imagine that victory comes in a moment; the old man does not surrender easily. The Apostle speaks of two laws at war: the law of the mind delighting in God, and the law of sin in the members dragging us into captivity. This battle is not of the flesh alone, but of the mind, for the mind is the charioteer. When it turns from God to base things, all is overthrown. Yet the renewal he commands is not outward but inward: “be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” Put off the old man with his corrupt desires, and put on the new man, fashioned after God in true holiness.

Do not look for deliverance merely through acts of the body, fleeing temptation, shunning occasions, though these have their place. The worship God seeks is not in outward cleansings or rigid disciplines of the flesh, but in spirit and in truth. Sacrifice not lambs but yourself; make your soul a holocaust. Circumcise not your flesh but your evil thoughts. Crucify your unreasonable desires. This is the true offering. The law of the flesh commands washing, anointing, resting, but Christ calls for a purer worship: the incorporeal serving the Incorporeal. So dedicate your mind to Him, and let not your determination grow slack. The mind that abandons God to chase after lust He gives over to a reprobate state, not the flesh but the mind with its wicked lust is the source. Guard it, then, with all vigilance.

Yet do not despair if the struggle persists. God often permits us to feel the thorn, not to deliver us from death, but to teach us to despise it. Greater than being spared the trial is learning to overcome it by His grace. He does not promise a life without conflict, but He gives strength to stand firm in the battle. Keep praying, but pray with a purpose: ask not only for removal of sin but for that renewal of your mind and spirit which works a lasting change. True repentance weeps as Peter wept, bitterly and with hope. Even great sins find pardon when the heart is rent, not the garments.

Turn your eyes, then, from the fleeting pleasures that sting afterward like a serpent, and fix them on the sweetness of a pure life, the delight of a conscience at peace, the spiritual song ever sounding in the soul. The theater of this world offers shows that end in sorrow, but the company of the saints, the beauty of holiness, fills the heart with an enduring joy. Let this be the object of your longing. Since Christ has shown you mercy, press on. The Spirit who has begun this renewal will complete it if you do not hinder Him. Make your choice firm, set your judgment upon the rock, and the root of blessing within you will not be withered by passing temptations. Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free, and let not the law of sin bring you again into captivity.

It is right to give thanks, because the improvement you’ve seen is not your own doing but Christ’s mercy at work, and he will complete what he has begun. When the law does its proper work, it shows us that sin isn’t only what we do; it’s what stirs within us. The strong desire itself, the pull toward what is forbidden, is the very thing God wants to root out. You’ve discovered that, and it’s driven you to cry out to him. That’s a good place to be. People who don’t sense their need rarely find deliverance.

Your whole prayer has the sound of someone who says, “With my mind I serve the law of God, but I find another principle warring in my members.” The mind renewed by grace loves what is right, yet the flesh puts up a fight. That battle is painful, but it isn’t defeat. It’s proof you belong to him, and there is no condemnation for you in Christ Jesus. Not one shred. He does not look at you as a failing project. He sees a child whose heart longs for holiness, and he is patient.

So don’t let the struggle itself convince you that nothing has changed. Sin’s nature still lingers in the body, and it always will until the resurrection, but it no longer has dominion. The command is to stop letting sin reign. Yield the parts of your body to God as instruments of righteousness, the way you once yielded them to impurity. Don’t just try to stop a behavior; replace what your mind feeds on. The world system, with its lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes, is passing away. Its pull weakens the more you fix your heart on the life and peace that belong to the mind of the Spirit.

The tears you’ve wept, God does not despise them. His glory is to cover sin, to forgive iniquity, to bury it as far as east is from west. When you confess, he is faithful and just to cleanse you. That isn’t a license to continue; it’s the only firm ground to stand on while you wage war. Trust that forgiveness, then get up and fight the next skirmish, not in despair, but in hope.

I join you in asking him to renew your mind and make wisdom your constant companion. He will show you mercy, speak understanding into your heart, and loosen every chain. Keep walking in the Spirit; feed on his word; and when you stumble, run back to the light, not away from it, because that’s where healing lives. The Son has set you free, and freedom is what he’s completing in you.
