Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unheard, and we see the hand of God moving in your desire for holiness and freedom. The areas you’ve identified, pornography, masturbation, flirting, and sexual sin, are indeed battles that many face, but they are not battles you must fight alone. The blood of Jesus has already secured your victory, and His Spirit is at work to sanctify you completely.

First, we must rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper these sins are too powerful to overcome or that you are defined by your struggles. Scripture declares, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord does not leave you defenseless; He provides the way out, and we stand with you in claiming that truth.

We also want to address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin, including pornography and masturbation, is not merely a physical act but a heart issue. Jesus warned, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). Flirting with the opposite sex, while it may seem harmless, can also stir up desires that lead to sin. We must guard our hearts diligently, for "he who trusts in his own heart is a fool" (Proverbs 28:26). True freedom comes when we surrender every thought, desire, and action to Christ, allowing Him to renew our minds and transform us from the inside out.

The apostle Paul exhorts us, "Flee sexual immorality! ā€˜Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Your body is not your own, it belongs to the Lord, and He calls you to honor Him with it. This means turning away from every form of sexual immorality and pursuing purity with the same passion with which you once pursued sin.

We also encourage you to seek accountability. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance." Find a trusted brother or sister in Christ who can walk with you, pray with you, and hold you accountable in love. Do not isolate yourself in this battle, for the enemy thrives in secrecy. Confess your struggles to one another, as James 5:16 instructs: "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace that have brought them this far, and we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in them. Father, we rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and deception that has sought to ensnare them. We declare that they are no longer slaves to sin but have been set free by the blood of Jesus!

Lord, we ask that You would renew their mind daily through Your Word. Let Your truth penetrate every thought and desire, replacing lies with Your promises. Give them wisdom to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the strength to flee from temptation. Father, we pray for lasting deliverance, not just a temporary victory, but a transformed heart that hungers and thirsts for righteousness. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).

We ask that You would surround them with godly accountability, with brothers and sisters who will sharpen them, pray for them, and walk with them in this journey. Lord, give them the courage to be transparent and the humility to receive correction. May they find their identity and satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the deepest longings of their heart.

Father, we also pray for Your mercy to cover any past sins and for Your healing to restore any areas of brokenness. Let them experience the fullness of Your love and the power of Your resurrection life. May they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them, and may their life bring glory and honor to Your name.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear one. The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is faithful, and He will complete the work He has started in you. You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit is your Helper and Comforter. Walk in the light, and the darkness will not overcome you. To God be all the glory!

We're grateful to hear how God has already been at work in your life, bringing real improvement. Thank you for inviting us to keep standing with you in prayer.

What you're describing is the heart of sanctification, that gradual, day-by-day process where God renews our minds and reshapes our desires. It rarely happens in a single moment, and the fact that you're still fighting, still crying out to him, is actually evidence that he's holding onto you and giving you strength you didn't have before.

One thing that might help in this season is finding a trusted brother in Christ you can be honest with in person, someone who will check in regularly, pray with you, and ask the harder questions without shame. Many who have walked this road say that bringing things into the light with a safe person removed a lot of the power those struggles held in secret. If your church doesn't have a structured group along those lines, even one mature believer you respect could make a real difference.

Press on. God is not impatient with you, and he finishes what he starts.

Lord Jesus, thank you for the ground already gained in this brother's life. Guard his mind and heart, and make your voice clearer than every competing temptation. Give him a loyal friend to walk alongside him, and let him know deep in his bones that you are for him, not against him. In your name we pray, amen.

The cry of your heart has ascended to the throne of grace, and He who delights in mercy has heard you. That you have seen improvement is no small thing; give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ, for deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. Yet you are right to press on for lasting and true freedom, for sin is a viper that dies hard, and the world’s puddles will beckon even the redeemed heart.

You have wept and prayed; but let me ask you, when you have made confession of sin, have you not been restored? Has He not lifted up upon you once more the light of His countenance? The mercy seat is a well of refreshment indeed, and you may come to Him tonight and say, ā€œLord, revive me and send me on my way rejoicing.ā€ But mind this: God’s mercy never gives a man leave to wallow in the mire of secret sin and yet claim union with Christ. That cannot be! Keep yourself unspotted from the world’s filth. Flee the lepers of lust; make no provision for the flesh. The way of sin is the way of destruction; its pedigree is born of lust and brings forth death. You cannot toy with it and be happy.

Yet what a mercy it is that God has no variableness, neither shadow of a turning! The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If you walk in the light as He is in the light, you have fellowship with Him and that cleansing is continuous. Your great desire to be free from the power of sin, this itself is a token of the life eternal. A saint linked with Christ by a living, loving, lasting union is saved, sanctified, and sure to be glorified. Do not trust in a false hope that lets you love your chains; true hope in mercy feels its need of mercy with heartbreak. Where sin has been, Satan marks and fires his arrows, but the Spirit draws you again to the mercy seat, and God loves that mercy seat better than you do. He dwelleth there.

Look to the Great Interpreter, the Lord Jesus, who by His Atonement covers all sin. He is the Deliverance from the iron furnace of guilt. When you were convicted and full of fears, it was He who said, ā€œDeliver him from going down to the pit.ā€ That same tender mercy which forgives will also renew your mind and make you wise. Cry to Him, ā€œWash me thoroughly, and teach me to hate every false way.ā€ The clock of mercy struck for my own deliverance when I felt most outlawed by sin, and it will strike for you in the hour of God’s sovereign purpose. He will show you that the grace of God is boundless, the heaven of God wide, and there is room for you. Keep helplessly dependent; boast only in His deliverance. Pray without ceasing, watch against the sparks of temptation, and trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it. May the Lord cause you to stand spotless at the last, for Christ’s sake. Amen.
