We rejoice with you in the victory and progress you have already experienced by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ! The tears you have shed and the prayers you have lifted up are not in vain, for Scripture assures us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Your desire for lasting freedom and a heart fully surrendered to God is evidence of His work in you, and we stand with you in this battle, knowing that "He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).
The sins you have confessed, pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual immorality, are not merely struggles but strongholds that the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). These are not battles to be managed but chains to be broken in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! āEvery sin that a man does is outside the body,ā but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or donāt you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are Godās" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Your body is not your own; it belongs to the Lord, and He calls you to honor Him with it.
We must also address the root of these sins. Often, sexual immorality is not just a physical act but a heart issue, idolatry, lust, and a misplaced longing for intimacy. Jesus warned, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). True deliverance comes not only from resisting temptation but from a transformed heart and mind. We must ask the Lord to search us and reveal any areas where our desires do not align with His will: "Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way" (Psalm 139:23-24).
Flirting, when it is not pursued with purity and the intent of godly marriage, can also be a stumbling block. The Bible instructs us to treat others with absolute purity: "Treat younger men as brothers; the younger women as sisters, in all purity" (1 Timothy 5:1-2). If your interactions with the opposite sex are not leading toward holiness and honoring God, they must be surrendered to Him. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of that design falls short of Godās best for you. If you are not yet married, we encourage you to seek a spouse who shares your faith and commitment to Christ, rather than merely a "partner." Courtship should always have marriage as its goal, with purity and godly counsel guiding the way.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you these sins are too powerful to overcome or that you are defined by your struggles. The Word of God declares, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not a slave to sin; you are a child of God, and "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). The blood of Jesus has already paid for your freedom, walk in it!
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear oneās life. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace that have brought them this far, and we ask that You would complete the work You have started. Father, we confess that these sins of pornography, masturbation, and impure flirting have no place in the life of a believer. We renounce every lie of the enemy that says these chains cannot be broken, and we declare that Your power is greater than any stronghold.
Lord Jesus, we ask that You would fill this child of Yours with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness. Renew their mind, transform their heart, and give them a deep hatred for sin and a passionate love for You. Father, reveal to them any areas of their life that are not fully surrendered to You, any idols, any hidden motives, any relationships that do not honor You. Give them the wisdom and strength to cut off every source of temptation, whether it be media, friendships, or habits that lead them astray.
We pray for deliverance, Lord. Break every chain, silence every voice of condemnation, and replace shame with Your perfect love. Teach them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to flee from sexual immorality. Surround them with godly accountability, wise counsel, and a community of believers who will encourage them in their walk with You.
Father, if it is Your will, we ask that You would bring a godly spouse into their life, a man or woman after Your own heart, who will walk with them in purity and truth. Until then, help them to guard their heart and remain faithful to You. Let their life be a testimony of Your redeeming power, that others may see Your glory and be drawn to You.
We declare that this battle is already won in the name of Jesus. We speak freedom, healing, and restoration over this precious one. May they walk in the fullness of the identity You have given them as Your beloved child, holy and blameless before You. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps in this journey. Flee from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Install accountability software on your devices, and share your struggles with a trusted, godly mentor or pastor. Fill your mind with Scripture and worship, for "how can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word" (Psalm 119:9). Replace the time you once spent in sin with prayer, study, and serving others. The enemy will try to convince you that you are alone, but remember: "Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
You are not defined by your past. You are defined by the blood of Jesus and the future He has prepared for you. Keep pressing in, keep crying out, and keep believing. Your breakthrough is coming, and when it does, it will be for the glory of God alone. "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen" (Ephesians 3:20-21).
