I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you in the victory and improvement the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! The fact that you have prayed, cried out, and sought deliverance from these sins is evidence of the Holy Spirit working within you. We stand with you in giving all glory to God, for He alone is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

The sins you mentioned, pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual sins, are indeed serious and grievous to the Lord. They defile the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) and distort God’s holy design for intimacy, which is reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). We must address these sins with urgency, but also with the confidence that Christ’s blood is sufficient to cleanse and restore you (1 John 1:9).

First, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that may whisper to you that these sins are too powerful to overcome or that you are defined by your struggles. The Word of God declares that "sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14). The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and through Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Do not believe the lie that you are helpless, you are a child of the Most High God, and He has equipped you with everything you need for godliness (2 Peter 1:3).

We also encourage you to examine your heart and mind for any areas where you may be entertaining temptation. Jesus warned that if your eye causes you to sin, it is better to pluck it out than to be cast into hell (Matthew 5:29). This is not a call to literal self-harm, but a sobering reminder to take drastic measures to remove stumbling blocks from your life. If certain media, relationships, or habits are leading you into sin, cut them off without hesitation. Flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness (1 Timothy 6:11).

We must also address the root of these sins. Often, sexual sin is not just about physical desire but about deeper needs, loneliness, insecurity, a desire for validation, or even idolatry (seeking fulfillment in something other than God). Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the true motives of your heart. Are you seeking comfort, escape, or identity in these sins? Bring these needs before the Lord, for He alone can satisfy the deepest longings of your soul (Psalm 107:9). When you are tempted, remember that God offers a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13), and call upon His name for strength.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace that have brought them this far. We ask now that You would complete the work of deliverance in their life. Father, we pray that You would break every chain of pornography, masturbation, and sexual sin that has bound them. Let no temptation have dominion over them, but let them walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them (Galatians 5:1).

Lord, we ask that You would renew their mind (Romans 12:2) and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, so that they may discern Your will and walk in it. Give them wisdom to recognize and resist temptation, and grant them the strength to flee from every appearance of evil. Father, we pray that You would heal any wounds or insecurities that may be driving them toward these sins. Let them find their identity, worth, and satisfaction in You alone.

We also pray for accountability and godly fellowship. Surround them with believers who will encourage them in their walk with You and hold them accountable in love. Lord, if it is Your will, prepare a godly spouse for them, a man or woman after Your own heart who will walk with them in purity and holiness. Until that time, help them to guard their heart and remain pure in thought, word, and deed.

Father, we ask that You would speak to them in a personal and powerful way. Let them hear Your voice clearly, and give them the courage to obey. Fill them with Your peace, joy, and hope, so that they may run this race with endurance (Hebrews 12:1). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them.

We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the One who has overcome sin and death. May Your will be done in their life, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His Word daily, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Meditate on Scripture, memorize verses that speak to your struggle, and let them transform your mind. Surround yourself with worship music that exalts Christ and fills your heart with truth. Fast and pray when you feel led, for fasting humbles the soul and strengthens your spirit (Matthew 17:21).

Finally, remember that sanctification is a process. You may stumble, but do not let guilt or shame keep you from running back to the Father. He is waiting with open arms (Luke 15:20). Confess your sins to Him and to trusted believers (James 5:16), and press on toward the goal of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14). The battle is already won, walk in the victory that is yours in Christ!

The wrestling you describe, the tears and cries against the sins of the flesh, is a sign not of death but of life. Unbroken prosperity in sin, a conscience seared and silent, that is the mark of being given over. But you, you have felt the arrow of conviction, and that is a mercy. God be thanked for the great improvement you have seen; give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ, for deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

Yet you cry out for lasting and true deliverance, and rightly so. Remember, any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. You cannot wallow in the mire of open or secret sin and yet belong to Christ, for that cannot be. The sins of the flesh, pornography, lustful flirtations, they are the spider’s cobwebs that thicken into iron chains. They blind the mind and engender a second nature. But hear this, when a soul, sensible of sin, sees that Christ, by His blood, made atonement and throws himself upon that Sacrifice of the Cross, then sin is pardoned. And because the sin is pardoned, the forgiven sinner is grateful and says, “I will not go on in this sin.”

Your repeated prayer for God to renew your mind and make you wise is the very cry of one born from above. We must have a supernatural power put forth; any form of deliverance from sin that arises from below is worth nothing. But look to Jesus. Simply trust Him. The text rings out, “I have found a ransom.” When you are as full of sin as an egg is full of meat, the command is still, “Go, and sin no more.” This is done for you, not by your tearing, but by His bleeding. Let this assurance drive you to your knees in grateful, holy resolve.

Do not, however, mistake chastisement for punishment. The Father does not give His child what the law demands, but what will cure the wrong by making him feel that his sin brings sorrow. Your tears are a healing medicine, not a destroying flood. Confess each stumbling; have you not been restored before? Has He not lifted up the light of His countenance upon you? You must say He has. Now, go to the winds and tell your griefs no more. Spread them before the throne and then rise, claiming the deliverance He has purchased. The Lamb has been slain; Pharaoh cannot hold you. There remains no true liberty but that of which Christ makes you free. Go, and sin no more, for you shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

Your tears and cries have been heard, and the improvement you see is indeed a mercy from Christ. But beware: the enemy who retreated for a season will return with greater fury if he finds your house merely swept and garnished, not filled with the Spirit. I have seen many who, after a first victory, grew relaxed and supine, and their last state became worse than the first. Do not let that be yours. The war is not over; the law of sin still crouches in your members, ever ready to bring you into captivity if you walk after the flesh.

You ask God to remove these sins forever, and you pray rightly. But understand what you ask. He will not simply pluck out the desire without your own daily dying. The old man is not reformed; he is put to death. You must be renewed in the spirit of your mind, putting on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. That renewal is no sudden flash but a long clothing of yourself with Christ, a relentless circumcision of evil thoughts. When the lustful image rises, slay it at once. When the temptation to flirt or look with desire appears, flee as from a serpent. Do not parley; do not ponder. He that hesitates is already half-conquered.

True worship is in spirit and truth, not in outward tears only. God is Spirit, and He seeks those who dedicate the whole inner man as a living sacrifice. What does that mean for you? It means making a covenant with your eyes, cutting off every occasion of sin, however small. Whatever it takes, delete the apps, break the idle friendships, refuse the second glance, do it. Is it better to enter life maimed than to be cast whole into gehenna? The pleasure that you cling to stings worse than any sword after the moment passes, while the joy of a pure mind is an eternal festival.

Remember Peter. He went out and wept bitterly, and his repentance was accepted because it was deep and real, a true turning. But Judas also wept and yet hanged himself. What was the difference? Peter ran back to Christ; he did not wallow in guilt or presume upon grace. You too must keep your eyes fixed on the wounded hands of the Only-Begotten. He took this very flesh that was beset by sin and condemned sin in the flesh. The victory is already won; it is for you to stand in it, not to collapse into supine indulgence. The righteousness of the law is fulfilled in those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Therefore, pray without ceasing, but also fight. The Spirit will strengthen you, but the mind must be kept sober and watchful. When you have stood against the first assault, expect a fiercer one. Do not be surprised as though some strange thing happened. And if you fall, do not despair. Rise at once, confess, and return to the battle. God has shown you mercy; He will give you understanding and deliverance as you, in trembling and fortitude, work out your own salvation. The grace is before you; the prize is incorruptible. Despise the fleeting shameful delights; set your affection on things above, and the peace of God will garrison your heart.

You have indeed seen the Lord’s hand at work, and we give Him all the glory for the freedom you are experiencing. It is right to rejoice in what He has done, even as you cry out for a deeper, lasting purity. The battle you describe is one waged in the mind. Pornography and the sins that attend it have a way of enslaving a person, gripping the thoughts and driving a progression that only the Spirit of God can break. Satan assaults the mind, planting filth and inflaming desires that war against the soul. Yet Scripture holds out a sure hope: we have the mind of Christ, and when the Spirit rules us, He fills our minds with life and peace.

Your tears and prayers have been heard. Now, keep diligent guard over your heart and mind. Put away from you anything that feeds the old patterns, and fix your gaze on what is pure and true. The mind that is set on the Spirit will starve the cravings of the flesh. This is not a passive wait but an active yielding, trusting God to renew your understanding and make you wise. As you continue to seek the mind of the Lord, He will show you what steps to take and will confirm His deliverance. I join you in praying that He will wash every stain from your memory with His Word, that these sins will be forever far from you, and that your whole being will be set apart for His glory, in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.
