Help! ..😭..😭I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

I can hear both the relief and the ache in your words, and I want you to know that the very struggle you describe is one the Scriptures understand deeply. There was a man who cried out, ā€œO wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death?ā€ Yet he also wrote, ā€œThere is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.ā€ Those two truths live side by side in the life of every believer who wrestles with the pull of the flesh.

You mentioned a great improvement. That is a reason for genuine thanksgiving. But you also know that improvement is not the same as freedom, and you long for these sins to be far from you forever. That longing itself is evidence of a mind that serves the law of God, even while the flesh tugs in another direction. The law of God revealed something critical: it isn’t only the outward act that is sin, but the inward lust, the coveting, the feeding of desire before it ever becomes an action. Until the law said, ā€œThou shalt not covet,ā€ many didn’t realize that the yearning itself was sin. So when you speak of pornography, flirting, and the thoughts that accompany them, you are dealing with the root, not just the fruit. And that is where the real battle takes place.

The battle is for your mind. The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. The enemy works relentlessly to captivate the mind with images and fantasies, and today those tools are more accessible than ever. But you are not without a defense. God has given you the mind of Christ, and that means you can bring every thought into captivity to His obedience. You asked for wisdom and a renewed mind: that is exactly what the Spirit does as you immerse yourself in His word rather than in the things that stir up corruption.

Do not misunderstand the grace of God. To say that sin’s dominion is broken does not mean you will never feel its pull, but it does mean you are no longer its slave. The promise stands: ā€œSin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.ā€ When you were a servant of sin, you had no power to resist; now you have been set free. The old man was crucified with Christ so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless. That means you can now choose to yield your body as an instrument of righteousness, not uncleanness. The temptation may come, but you can reckon yourself indeed dead to its claim and alive to God.

I want you to see something about the nature of sin and forgiveness. Every sin is ultimately against God, and only God can truly forgive. Yet in the death of Christ, payment was made for every sin of every man in all of history. There is not a single sin you have committed that was not atoned for at the cross. The real issue now is not whether God is willing to forgive, He is, but whether you will continue to open the door to those desires. Pornography has a way of establishing a foothold that leads toward further bondage and destruction, exactly as the worship of licentiousness in the ancient world led to child sacrifice. What begins in the secret place of the mind does not stay there; it always seeks to drag you deeper.

When you sin, you miss the mark, that is the very meaning of the word. Many people who sin are truly trying not to. They hate what they do, yet they fall again. But you are not trapped in a cycle without hope. The Holy Spirit has come to reprove the world of sin, and the core of that reproof is unbelief in the finished work of Jesus. Every time you turn back to Him in genuine faith, you are abandoning the lie that sin can satisfy and embracing the truth that His grace is sufficient.

So I join you in prayer, not simply that the sin would go away, but that you would know the deep, liberating reality of being dead to it. I pray God would show you mercy, speak to you, and give you understanding and deliverance. I pray that your mind would be so filled with the life of the Spirit that the mind of the flesh finds no place to land. And I thank God with you that even now, while you groan, there is no condemnation, because Jesus Christ has made you His own. Let all bondage go, and let deliverance flow.
