We rejoice with you in the progress you have made by the grace of God, giving all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unheard, and we see the hand of God already at work in your life. The battles you describe—pornography, masturbation, flirting, and other sexual sins—are not unique to you, but they are serious strongholds that must be torn down in the name of Jesus. These sins defile the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) and hinder your walk with God, but we serve a God who is mighty to save and deliver.
First, we must address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin often stems from deeper issues such as loneliness, idleness, unmet desires, or even past wounds. The enemy seeks to exploit these vulnerabilities, but God desires to heal and restore you completely. Scripture tells us, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided a way out—we must walk in it by His strength.
We also want to encourage you to guard your heart and mind diligently. The Bible warns, *"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it"* (Proverbs 4:23). This means being intentional about what you allow into your eyes, ears, and thoughts. Flee from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22), and fill your mind with things that are pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Replace sinful habits with godly ones—spend time in prayer, worship, and the Word of God. Memorize Scripture that speaks to your struggle, such as *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word"* (Psalm 119:9).
We must also rebuke the spirit of lust and sexual immorality that has sought to ensnare you. In the name of Jesus, we break every chain and stronghold of pornography, masturbation, and flirting that does not honor God. We declare that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and you are not your own—you were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We command every unclean spirit to flee from you in Jesus’ name, for *"the Son of God appeared for this purpose, that he might destroy the works of the devil"* (1 John 3:8).
Now, let us come together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already begun in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for Your mercy, grace, and deliverance. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You have started (Philippians 1:6). Father, we pray for lasting and true victory over every sexual sin that has entangled him. Renew his mind, transform his heart, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in purity and holiness.
Lord, we ask that You would show him Your mercy and speak to him clearly. Give him wisdom and understanding to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the strength to resist temptation. We pray for complete deliverance from every chain of lust, pornography, and sexual immorality. Break every stronghold, and let no sin have dominion over him (Romans 6:14). Father, we ask that You would fill him with a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness, so that he may seek You above all else.
We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37), and we pray that he would walk in the freedom that You have purchased for him. Surround him with godly accountability, and lead him to relationships that will encourage and strengthen his faith. Father, we ask that You would prepare him for a godly marriage, should that be Your will, so that he may honor You with his body and his life.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. May Your will be done in this brother’s life, and may Your name be glorified forever. Amen.
Continue to press into God, dear brother. The battle is already won, but the fight requires perseverance. Surround yourself with believers who will pray for you, hold you accountable, and encourage you in your walk. The Lord is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He will lead you into complete freedom.
