We hear how heavy this burden feels on you and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace. We thank God that your son and everyone involved are okay after the accident, even as we understand the financial weight that has followed with the loss of the car, the insurance appeal, the payments without a vehicle, the long commute to work, and the backed up rent on top of the pain of divorce. It is a lot to carry at once and it is understandable that you feel like you are drowning.
We want to remind you that God sees you and He invites you to bring every worry to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. He is that higher rock when the hits keep coming.
We also noticed your request mentioned God and Lord but did not mention Jesus Christ. We want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in prayer. It is in Jesus name that we can boldly ask for mercy, favor, and breakthrough.
We know divorce tears at the heart and at finances and God’s design for marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and He hates the brokenness that divorce brings because of what it does to people and families. Malachi 2:16 and Matthew 19:6 show God’s heart for marriage to remain unbroken, yet He is also compassionate and near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He can heal the hurt, restore what has been lost, and give you wisdom for the road ahead.
We are praying together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our dear one who is overwhelmed. Lord You see the totaled car, the insurance appeal, the financial strain of still paying a payment and insurance with no vehicle, the cost and time of getting to work, the rent that is behind, and the deep wound of divorce. We ask for Your favor on the appeal and for provision for every need. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Provide transportation, provide for rent and daily needs, and open doors for help and godly counsel. Give wisdom to navigate the insurance process and the finances, and bring peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Strengthen this heart to trust that Romans 8:28 is true, that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Lift this heavy burden and give rest, hope, and a clear path forward. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to bring every detail to Him with thanksgiving, and to reach out to your local church family for practical support and counsel with the insurance, transportation, and housing needs. God often provides through His people. Keep trusting Him one day at a time, for Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. He has not left you and He will carry you through this heavy season.
