Heavenly Father

We join with you in bringing this before the Father and we commend your heart for asking for mercy for those who have sought to harm you, for this reflects the heart of Christ.

The Word is clear that witchcraft and cursing others is sin and an abomination before God, as it is written There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer Deuteronomy 18:10, and yet God in His mercy desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. We are called to overcome evil with good and to love even those who intend evil toward us, for Jesus said Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, and again Bless those who persecute you. Bless, and do not curse Romans 12:14 and Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:28.

We want to encourage you not to live in fear, for no curse can override the blessing and protection of God over those who are in Christ. It is written How shall I curse whom God has not cursed Numbers 23:8 and Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel Numbers 23:23. We rest in the truth that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and If God is for us, who can be against us Romans 8:31 and No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. When we submit to God and resist the enemy, he must flee James 4:7.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we thank You that Your mercy endures forever. We lift up to You those who have practiced witchcraft and spoken curses, and we ask for Your mercy upon them. Open their eyes to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins Acts 26:18. Bring them to conviction and repentance, that they may forsake their sorcery and find salvation and new life in Jesus alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We also lift up our dear one who has felt the weight of these curses. Cover them with Your protection as they dwell in the shelter of the Most High Psalm 91:1. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We ask that You break every spoken curse and render it powerless, and that You fill this heart with peace, forgiveness, and strength to bless those who have sought to harm. Let Your will be done and let Your light shine through this situation for Your glory.

We thank You Father that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we trust You to bring justice with mercy and to keep Your child safe in the palm of Your hand. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. Asking God to have mercy on those you believe have harmed you reflects a tender heart, and we notice that kindness in your words even while you are feeling vulnerable.

Feeling targeted in a spiritual way can leave you on edge, replaying what might have been done or said. We have found it helps to gently turn the focus from what others may intend toward resting in Christ's presence and care for you day by day. You do not have to figure out every spiritual detail alone, and you do not have to carry fear by yourself.

It can be steadying to have one or two trusted people nearby who know you and can pray with you in person. If you have a pastor or a mature believer you trust, consider sharing this burden with them and asking them to check in with you regularly. Staying rooted in ordinary fellowship, prayer and rest often brings more peace than staying alert to every worry.

Father, we bring our friend before You and ask for Your calm and protection over them. Quiet the fear and help them feel Your nearness and care. We ask for Your mercy to be at work in the lives of those they mentioned, drawing each person toward Your light and truth. Give our friend wisdom, supportive community and renewed peace as they walk with You. In Jesus' mighty name, amen.

Your prayer for mercy upon those who have sought your harm is itself a mark of grace, for nature would cry for vengeance and grace cries for mercy. Our Lord said, pray for them which despitefully use you, and you have done well to ask the Father to have mercy upon them rather than to ask for evil to be returned upon their heads.

Take comfort also concerning any curse that may have been spoken against you. The child of God need not fear the enchantments and curses of men, for deliverance is of the Lord. The Scripture declares that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. He bore in His own body the penalty that was due to sinners, and by that great substitution He has bought us out from under every curse. No witch, no charm, no dark power can lay aught to the charge of those whom Christ has ransomed. As it is written, He is gracious unto him and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is the precious blood of the King's own Son, and where that ransom is pleaded, the pit cannot hold you and the curse cannot bind you.

Know too that all deliverance from the power of darkness is the work of God alone. It is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. If you are troubled, look not to the power of those who would curse you, but to Him who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, but the Lord Himself sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace, and even that which comes through the malice of men is in His hand for your chastening and your good.

Therefore rest in Christ, who alone is salvation. Seek to abide under His blood and in His Word, forsaking all trust in any other power. And continue to pray as you have begun, that those who practice such darkness may themselves be delivered from it. Pray that God would open their eyes, bring them to repentance, and show them that there is no true liberty but that whereof Christ makes men free. Mercy to them is that they might be turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God.

May the Lord keep your soul from the pit and your life from perishing, and may you live to declare the works of the Lord, giving Him all the glory for your deliverance.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a Christlike and faithful thing to pray for mercy on those who have tried to harm you. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who despitefully use us, to bless those who curse us and do good to those who hate us, so that we may be like our Father in heaven who makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. In choosing mercy instead of revenge you walk in that love and you open your own heart to receive more of God's mercy.

You do not need to live in fear of any curse spoken against you. Scripture teaches that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us when he hung on the tree, though he had done no violence and no deceit was in his mouth. He took that curse upon himself to deliver us from the curse that belongs to sin, and by that one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified. Through him we receive adoption as sons, we put on Christ and receive the Spirit of adoption. No word spoken by those who practice witchcraft can overcome his finished work.

Christ now sits at the right hand of God, expecting until his enemies are put under his feet. All unbelief and all the works of darkness belong to those enemies, and their subjection is sure. Your prayer for mercy agrees with God's own heart, for his mercy is over all the earth and when we were still enemies he reconciled us through his Son who emptied himself and became a servant for our sake.

Continue to pray as you have begun, not that God would bless the practice of witchcraft itself, for that is sin and needs repentance, but that he would have mercy on the persons who practice it, bring them to see their need, grant them repentance and bring them to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other way of salvation. Pray also that God would guard your heart from anger and fear and give you patience to bear wrongs meekly. To be free from hatred is itself a great gain, for he who does not hate does not consume himself with grief, but lives in greater peace and receives deliverance from sin.

May the Lord keep you in his protection, cleanse you from all fear, and fill you with confidence that you are safe in Christ who bore every curse for you. Keep praying, keep forgiving, and trust the one who already reigns in victory.

Your prayer for mercy toward those who have tried to harm you reflects the heart of Jesus, who taught us to love and pray for those who intend evil against us.

It is important to see what the Bible says about a curse. The true curse that matters is the curse of God against sin. When Adam sinned, that curse fell upon man and woman and upon the earth itself, bringing hard labor, pain in childbearing, and thorns and thistles from the ground. The law also pronounces a curse, for it says cursed is everyone who does not continue to do all that is written in the law. We have all failed at that point, and so we were all under that curse, which is condemnation and death.

But the good news is that Jesus Christ has redeemed us from that curse by becoming a curse for us. Scripture says, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. When Jesus was crucified, He hung on that tree and bore the curse of God that was due to our sin. The crown of thorns pressed upon His brow was a fitting sign of this, for thorns were part of the curse upon the earth, and He wore them to show He was bearing that curse in our place. Because He bore it, you who are in Christ are no longer under that curse but under His blessing and forgiveness.

Scripture also shows that people have long tried to hire others to bring curses upon their enemies, much like hiring a sorcerer today to speak enchantments or to use rituals against someone. In the days of Balaam, a king tried to pay him to curse the people of God, saying perhaps I can defeat them if you will curse them for me. But God said to Balaam, you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed. And that prophet had to declare that God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. What God has blessed, no enchantment can truly curse. If you belong to Jesus through faith, you are blessed in Him, and no power of witchcraft can override the blessing and protection of God over your life.

When God forgives, His forgiveness is total and complete. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That same mercy you are asking for toward those who cursed you is available to them if they will repent and turn to Jesus. In the end, for all who are in Christ, the promise is that there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be among His people and we shall see His face.

So do not live in fear of what others have spoken or attempted against you. Rest in what Jesus has already done on the cross. He has taken the real curse upon Himself so that you might receive the blessing of Abraham through faith and the promise of the Spirit. Continue to pray as you have, asking God to show mercy to those who have tried to harm you, that they might come to know the forgiveness that is found only in Jesus, and ask the Lord to fill your own heart with peace and assurance that you are safe in His hands.

Father, we thank You that Jesus bore the curse for us on the cross. We ask that You guard this dear one with Your peace, remove all fear, and let them know the blessing of being Yours. Have mercy upon those who have practiced evil and bring them to repentance and faith in Christ, that they too may be forgiven and made new. In Jesus name, amen.
