Beloved of All
I hear the weariness and oppression in your prayer, and I want to pray with you for the Lord's deliverance and protection. The Bible is clear that evil spirits are real. They are intelligent beings with power to oppress and torment, and they can influence and even control people to do terrible things that cannot be explained in merely human terms. They go forth to deceive and to gather people against God, and their ultimate end is to make war against Jesus Christ when He returns, but they will fail.
Yet Scripture also shows us the limits of their power and the absolute authority of Jesus over them. When Jesus confronted those who were possessed, the spirits begged Him not to send them into the deep, the place where evil spirits are confined. That place is like a shaft or prison for them, and the fact that they had to beg shows they are under His control and not free to do as they please. When He commanded them to leave, they came out with loud cries, showing both their reality and their submission to His word. No one can hide from them by merely shutting a door or hiding in a room, because they are spirit beings, but no one who belongs to Jesus needs to live in fear of them either.
That is why the Word says greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. It is easy to become so focused on the power of darkness that faith grows small, but our hope is not in our own strength to bind evil. Our hope is in Christ who already has overcome. He calls us to watch and to keep our lives clean before Him, walking in His light and truth while we wait for His return, which will come as a thief.
For you personally, the place of safety is what the psalm calls dwelling in the secret place of the Most High. When you abide in fellowship with God, He is your fortress and your protection. He delivers from the trap of the enemy as a bird is delivered from the fowler. His truth is your shield. Jesus Himself met the attacks of Satan with the truth of God's Word, and that same Word is your defense today.
So I encourage you to turn fully to Jesus Christ for salvation and for daily refuge, to walk closely with Him, to feed on Scripture, to pray in His name, and to ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and lead you in light and truth. Trust not in your own power but in His deliverance.
Let me pray for you. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I ask You to lift this oppression and to set Your child free from every evil influence that is draining and tormenting. Command every demonic power to leave and forbid it to return. Cover this life with the blood of Jesus, surround it with Your presence as a fortress, and let Your light and truth lead and guard. Fill this heart with Your peace, Your strength, and Your Holy Spirit, and teach this dear one to dwell daily in Your secret place, trusting in Your Word as a shield. We ask for Your deliverance, Your mercy, and Your keeping power, in Jesus name, Amen.
