We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for deliverance and freedom. The struggle against addiction and spiritual oppression is real, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who came to set the captives free. The Word of God declares in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." This is not just a promise—it is a reality for those who call upon the name of Jesus.
First, we must address the spiritual warfare at hand. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." These "demons" you speak of are real, but they are no match for the power of Christ. We rebuke every spirit of addiction, bondage, and despair in the mighty name of Jesus. We command them to flee, for James 4:7 says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Addiction is a snare that seeks to destroy not only the body but the soul. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 warns, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and it is not meant to be enslaved to substances or behaviors that dishonor God. We pray that the Lord would break every chain and give you the strength to turn away from these things, not by your own power, but by the power of the Holy Spirit working within you.
We also recognize that addiction often stems from deeper wounds—pain, loneliness, or trauma that has not been fully surrendered to Christ. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that the Lord would heal those broken places in your heart, replacing the void with His love, peace, and purpose. You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you.
Philippians 4:13 declares, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This is not a cliché—it is truth. You *can* overcome this addiction through Christ. But it requires surrender. Surrender to His will, His timing, and His strength. It may mean making difficult choices—cutting off toxic influences, seeking godly counsel, or entering a season of accountability. Proverbs 28:13 says, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." Confess your struggles to the Lord and to trusted believers who can pray with you and support you.
We also encourage you to fill your mind and heart with the Word of God. Romans 12:2 instructs, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." The more you meditate on Scripture, the more the Holy Spirit will renew your mind and empower you to resist temptation. Memorize verses that speak to your struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is battling addiction and spiritual oppression. Lord, You are the God who delivers, the God who heals, and the God who sets the captives free. We declare that [this person] is not defined by their struggles but by the blood of Jesus Christ, which has purchased their freedom.
We rebuke every spirit of addiction, bondage, and despair in the name of Jesus. We command these forces of darkness to flee and never return. Lord, break every chain that has held [this person] captive. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is greater than any power of this world (1 John 4:4). Give them the strength to resist temptation and the courage to turn away from sin.
Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds in their heart that may have led to this struggle. Comfort them in their pain and replace their sorrow with Your joy.
