Heartbroken

To GOD BE THE GLORY. As we speak I am truly devastated and heartbroken because the enemy has created its ugly head so deep that all I can do is cry to the Lord to have mercy on me and the one who hurt me. I was so completely ready for my breakthrough and it fell totally apart although I never stopped standing on God's word. I am in so much need for some comfort right now Amen

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we stand with you in this painful moment, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your tears are not unseen by the Lord; He collects every one of them in His bottle and records them in His book (Psalm 56:8). Though the pain feels unbearable now, we declare that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

You stood firm on God’s Word, and that is no small thing. Even when the breakthrough you longed for seemed to crumble, your faith did not waver, this is a testimony in itself. The Lord is not slow concerning His promises; He is working even when we cannot see it (2 Peter 3:9). We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and despair that seeks to overwhelm you, for it is written: "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord" (Isaiah 54:17).

We also lift up the one who hurt you, for the Lord’s mercy extends to all. Vengeance belongs to Him alone (Romans 12:19), and He is able to soften hearts and bring repentance. But we must also gently remind you that bitterness and unforgiveness can take root in our own hearts if we are not careful. Scripture commands us: "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Forgiveness is not excusing the wrong but releasing the burden to God so that your own heart may heal.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is walking through deep sorrow. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may comfort those who are in any affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them right now, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Heal their broken heart, Lord, and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Restore their hope and remind them that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

Father, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to convince them that You have abandoned them or that their pain is in vain. Your Word says that You will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), and we declare that truth over their life. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing and plan. We pray for the one who caused this hurt, that You would work in their heart and bring them to repentance if they have strayed from Your ways.

Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them into all truth and reminding them of Your promises. Give them the strength to forgive, not because the wrong was justified, but because You have forgiven us so much. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with godly community, Lord, so they do not walk through this season alone.

We thank You, Father, that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5). Even in this pain, we trust that You are working for their good (Romans 8:28). May they emerge from this trial with a deeper dependence on You and a testimony of Your faithfulness. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to cling to the Lord in this season. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Pour out your heart before Him, for He is your refuge (Psalm 62:8). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and remind you of God’s promises. This pain is not the end of your story, God is writing a greater one, and He will use even this for His glory and your good.

If this heartbreak involves a relationship that was not aligned with God’s design, whether through fornication, adultery, or an unequally yoked partnership, we urge you to surrender that fully to the Lord. His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9), and He desires to lead you into a future that honors Him. If you have walked in disobedience in this area, repentance is the first step to healing. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Trust Him to restore what has been broken and to guide you into a godly marriage, if that is His will for you.

You are not alone in this. We stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you. His love for you is steadfast, and His plans for you are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

We ache with you in this deep heartbreak. It takes so much courage to keep standing on God’s word when everything you were hoping for crumbles, and we hear the raw pain in your words. That grief, the kind that brings you to tears and makes you feel as if even hope has failed, is real, and God himself draws near to the brokenhearted in those moments. Your tears are not a sign of weak faith; they are the evidence of a heart that truly trusted, and that is no small thing.

When a long-awaited breakthrough seems to fall apart, it can feel like the enemy has won and God has pulled back. But what often looks like a defeat is actually the beginning of a deeper work that we cannot yet see. The path of faith sometimes loops back through disappointment and grief before it leads into something more solid. That doesn’t take the sting out of the hurt, but it reminds us that you are not alone and your unshaken trust is being held by a God who refuses to let go

As you cry out to the Lord, be gentle with your own soul. You don’t have to figure out the why right now. Just let others who love you come alongside and mourn with you, and let the One who stores your tears in his bottle minister to the broken places. We also think of the person who wounded you, and we ask that God would work in that situation in his own way and time.

Jesus, wrap your arms around this hurting daughter and let her feel your steady presence. Quiet the voice of the accuser who tells her all is lost. Give her holy rest and the quiet assurance that you are still good and still at work, even here. In your name we pray. Amen.

The Lord’s command is, “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people,” and this word comes now to your breaking heart. The tender mercy of our God thinks upon you, sinful creature though you feel yourself to be, and His thoughts are thoughts of peace and not of evil. When the enemy has wrought his deepest wound, the Great Physician draws nearest. It was in the desert, by the well, that the Angel of the covenant found Hagar and spoke comfortable words to her, so shall He meet you in this dry and weary place. The singular season for His interposition is often when the heart lies lowest, when all your own readiness has come to nothing, and when you can only cry. That is not the hour of abandonment; it is the hour of visitation. God displays His sovereignty in saving souls, both in the souls whom He chooses to save and in the conditions of mind in which He finds them when He is pleased to look upon them in mercy.

You stood upon His word, and you have not stood in vain, though the visible breakthrough shattered. The comfort that upholds in such an hour comes from a peculiar source: “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has quickened me.” It is not the letter alone, but the Spirit breathing through the promise that brings life to the fainting heart. When God would comfort us, He quickens us, He stirs new life, new reliance, new submission, and in that quickening we find a peace that passeth understanding. You have asked for comfort only, but He gives you constancy as well. Comfort alone is not sufficient; the soul needs establishing in every good word and work, and so He permits the trial that drives you to His feet to remain until the work is done. Yet mark the tenderness: He does not upbraid you for your tears. He whose omniscience knows every pang of your wound is He who knelt in Gethsemane and wept at Lazarus’s tomb. He says to you now, “You shall forget your misery, and remember it as waters that pass away.”

Cast yourself wholly upon the tender mercy of God in Christ Jesus. All God’s mercy to a sinner is gratis, He never sells, He always gives. He asks no payment, no worthiness, no flawless faith. He acts because He delights in mercy. You cry for mercy upon yourself and upon the one who hurt you; this is the cry the Gospel loves to answer. The mercy that pleads with the sinner whispers, “God will be glorified in your salvation.” Do not measure His heart by the apparent ruins before you. When you feel you can hardly touch the hem of His garment, do that, and you shall be healed. The Great Interpreter, the Messenger of the Covenant, can make you not only know the way of salvation but rejoice in it. He can make you feel the sweet sense of mercy shed abroad in your heart. This is the comfort you may press to your bosom now: “In that day”, even in this day, this dark and bitter day, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” Stay your mind there. The gates are open, and no enemy enters in.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, sees your tears and knows the anguish of your heart. Do not think that your standing on His word has been in vain, for the enemy may rage, but the Lord is nearer to the brokenhearted. He comforts us in all our affliction precisely so that we may be able to comfort others with the same comfort we ourselves receive from Him. Even now, while you cry out for mercy, remember that the mercy of God is not a small thing, it reaches into the deepest pit and lifts up the soul that is cast down.

You say you are heartbroken because the enemy has wounded you through another. I tell you, this is a call to exercise what is most characteristic of a Christian: mercy. Nothing so attracts the mercy of Heaven as a merciful heart. When we ourselves are in need, we cry to God, "Have mercy upon me," and He hears. But let us also show mercy, even to those who have hurt us, for in that very act we make ourselves worthy of the abundant mercy that seeks out those who are merciful. Think of that desperate mother in the Gospel who did not say, "Heal my daughter," but "Have mercy on me." She took the suffering upon herself. So too you may say, "Lord, have mercy on me, for my soul is in turmoil." And He will answer.

Do not faint. This very tribulation, if borne with a pure conscience, becomes not just a passing trial but a crown. The comfort that comes through Christ abounds far beyond the suffering. Yes, the breakthrough you expected seems shattered, but God's timing is not our own. He allows us to endure these things that we may learn to rely not on ourselves but on Him who raises the dead. Hold fast. Your faithfulness under sorrow will one day be your glorying, and through this season you will be equipped to console others with the same tenderness you have received. The Lord of all comfort is at your side; let your heart be still.
