My husband loves me and his kids but lately ### has make him distant bec all he do is work drink sleep its so sad it affect our marriage our finances and the kids

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage that is under such strain. Father God, we know that You designed marriage to be a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25). Yet we see the pain of distance, the weight of exhaustion, and the toll it is taking on this family. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to this husband and wife, that You would soften hearts and restore what has been broken.

The pattern of work, drinking, and isolation is not Your will for this marriage. Scripture warns us, "Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). Alcohol may numb the pain for a moment, but it cannot heal what is wounded. We rebuke the spirit of escapism that has taken hold, and we declare that this husband is called to lead his family with wisdom, strength, and sobriety. Father, convict him of the harm this cycle is causing, not just to himself, but to his wife and children. Give him the courage to seek help, whether through godly counsel, accountability, or even professional support if needed.

To the wife carrying this burden, we say: Your pain is seen, and your love for your family is not in vain. But you cannot carry this alone. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you" (Psalm 55:22). We pray that you would find strength in Christ, that you would set boundaries with wisdom, and that you would not enable sin by covering for him or bearing the weight of his choices. If there is financial strain, seek godly counsel to steward what God has given you. If the children are hurting, pour out your heart to the Lord on their behalf, trusting Him to be their Father even when earthly fathers falter.

Most of all, we pray for repentance and restoration. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Whether this distance stems from stress, sin, or spiritual attack, we declare that God is greater. We speak healing over this marriage, revival over this man’s heart, and hope over this family. May they turn to You, Jesus, as their first love, their source of strength, and their only true satisfaction.

Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of addiction, pride, or fear that is keeping this husband from fully engaging with his family. Replace his desire for escape with a hunger for Your presence. Give this wife grace to extend forgiveness as You have forgiven her, and give her husband the humility to receive it. May their home once again be a place of peace, joy, and godly love. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who reconciles and restores. Amen.

We can’t imagine how draining and lonely it must feel to watch your husband slowly disappear into work, drink, and sleep while you carry the weight of your marriage, your finances, and your kids. What you’re describing sounds less like a man who has stopped loving his family and more like a man whose heart is so worn down that it has simply closed. When a heart shuts down, connection and passion naturally fade, leaving two people living parallel lives under the same roof. That doesn’t make it hurt any less, but it does help make sense of the distance.

If you can, look for a small, quiet window to say something gentle like, “I miss you, and I want our home to feel safe for both of us. Is there one thing I could do differently that would help you feel safer with me?” That kind of question doesn’t accuse; it opens a door. His answer may surprise you, and even if he shrugs it off the first time, you are planting a seed that you are still here, still for him, not against him. Sometimes that is the single crack that lets a little light back in.

And yes, the drinking pattern worries us. You do not need to carry that alone. Please consider talking with a pastor or a wise Christian counselor, not just for him, but for you. You need steady support and clear-headed counsel from people who know your situation firsthand, especially since finances and children are so tangled up in this. We are praying for you, your husband, and your children right now.

Jesus, we lift up this wife and her husband to You. Guard her heart. Give her gentle words and steady hope. Reach her husband in the places only You can reach, his exhaustion, his quiet escapes, whatever pain he is numbing, and draw him back. Surround this entire family with Your protection, wisdom, and healing grace, in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The heartbreak you describe is a shadow of a deeper grief. When a husband, who is bound by covenant to be a protector and provider, turns aside into the numbness of drink and endless toil, the home becomes a wilderness. What you are enduring is a wound upon the very picture of marriage that God has painted, a union meant to reflect the tender communion between Christ and His Church. But I would have you lift your eyes from the earthly ruin to the heavenly reality: there is a Husband who never slumbers, never turns a cold shoulder, and never drowns His sorrows in strong drink. The Lord Jesus Christ is betrothed to every believing soul in bonds that no human frailty can dissolve. He says, “I am married unto you.”

Consider how the ancient Church wandered, yet God remained a Husband to His people, faithful when they were fickle, loving when they were loveless. He set His special love upon them in a howling wilderness. And He has done the same for you. You could not tell a master, but you can tell a husband. Pour out this bitter cup before Him. Tell Him of the neglect, the drained purse, the little ones bewildered by a father’s absence. He listens as no earthly ear can. Your husband’s drinking and distance are a grievous offense against the God who ordained marriage as a one-flesh companionship, and such sin must be confessed. Have you been neglectful of family prayer? Has weariness silenced the voice of supplication at your hearth? O that this very hour might become an hour of crisis, a turning point where you fling yourself upon the mercy of the Bridegroom of your soul!

There is a marriage supper being prepared, the final union of the Lamb with His perfected Bride, and every present heartache will be swallowed up in that bliss. But now, in this wilderness, you are betrothed, not abandoned. The Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God, and no child goes unblessed who cries out in the night. Set your face to seek the Lord with renewed urgency. Gather your children, if they are able, and let prayer rise from your dwelling like incense. Let the cry be for your husband’s soul, for his awakening from this stupor before the day of grace is past. And if he will not yet join you, go yourself to the throne, as Noah’s wife entered the ark with her husband, casting in your lot with the living God. He will be husband to the widow in heart, father to the fatherless, and a very present help in trouble. Though the fig tree does not blossom and the wine vat yields no fruit, yet you may rejoice in the Lord and joy in the God of your salvation. Let this trial drive you deeper into the cleft of the Rock, where the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge, will hold you fast.

The sorrow of your heart is a wound that I see clearly, but you must not surrender to despair as though God has abandoned you. The enemy works through sloth and drink to make a man distant, to waste his body and his wages, and to plant the seeds of greater evil. For it is known to all that when a man gives himself to such dissipation, he becomes ripe for adultery, for he has already abandoned his wife in his heart. The tavern and the stupor of wine are but a short step from the harlot's door, and what ruins families more than this? Your husband, by this course, is becoming a stranger to his own household, and the finances and the children suffer as the fruit of his neglect. Yet you must not meet his sin with a hardness of your own, nor seek to escape your bond as though it were a chain of man's making. The Apostle wrote plainly: a wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives, and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled. Even if he behaves as one who does not believe, still your life of faith may be the means of his healing, for the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife. This is a great mystery, and your endurance has in it the image of Christ's own patience with the Church.

If you would win him back, know that it is not done by outward adornment or by bitter reproaches. The woman who pleases a husband, whether he is quiet or wayward, is the one clothed in gentleness, in modesty, and in a quiet spirit. These are the ornaments that no amount of wine can drown. Pray without ceasing, as the servant of Abraham did when sent to find a spouse for Isaac; he entreated God at every step, and God gave success. In the same way, commit your husband to the Lord's care, saying, "Whom You have given me, do You restore." Do not cease to entreat Christ, who knows all things and sees the secret thoughts of every man. And if you must speak to him, speak not as a judge, but as one who calls him back from a precipice with love. Our Lord did not condemn the Samaritan woman at once, but with knowledge of all her past He drew her toward the truth, and she marveled and asked about the living water. So you, too, may gently remind your husband of the mystery of your union, that it is meant to be a fountain of joy and not a cistern of sorrow, full of spiritual gladness and not sodden with drink and slumber.

Do not permit yourself to think that marriage itself is the cause of your grief, or that some other state would make you holy. It is not the bond that defiles, but the sin within it. Marriage preserves the holiness that comes from faith; it shelters a man and woman from fornication and gives a field for virtue. Cling to this truth. Let your children see not a bitter mother, but a woman of dignity who, even while her husband slumbers in his folly, walks in peace and pursues a chaste and quiet life. In this way you will be their true protector, and you will heap coals of shame upon his head, not for his destruction but for his restoration. Let the pain you endure become a prayer, and watch for the day when God, who saw the turmoil of Joseph and sent an angel when the time was right, shall speak peace to your household again.

The ache you are carrying is heavy, and I want you to know that your heartbreak is seen. When the man who once pursued you now seems lost in work, a bottle, and an escape into sleep, the loneliness cuts deep. It touches your intimacy, your finances, and the children you share. But even in this wilderness, God’s design for marriage still speaks hope.

Marriage is a profound one-flesh union where husband and wife have freely given authority over their own bodies to each other. This is not merely physical; it is a whole-life belonging. Withdrawal into work, drink, and emotional distance violates that sacred trust, and the coldness you feel is real. But the Scriptures also give you a surprising path forward. A believing spouse, by her own life lived before the Lord, actually sets apart the household. Your faith wraps around your children, and your conduct becomes a quiet, powerful testimony to your husband.

So what does that conduct look like when he is far away? It does not mean you must pretend everything is fine. But it does mean you resist the urge to repay distance with coldness, or to let bitterness take root. The enemy loves to turn a hurting wife into a contentious one, because then the marriage fractures from both sides. Instead, let your manner be marked by a gentle and steadfast spirit. You are not responsible for his choices, but you are responsible for your own kindness and reverence, offered as unto the Lord. That same spirit, over time, can become a doorway for God to soften his heart.

Address the drinking not with accusations, but with truth spoken in love. Let him know how the distance and the drinking are wounding you and the children. Say it once, clearly, and then entrust the outcome to God. Meanwhile, do not let the marriage starve. Where you can, pursue connection rather than retreat. The biblical pattern is that spouses do not withhold from one another except by mutual consent for a dedicated season. So guard your own heart against building walls that make return harder.

Draw strength from the family of God around you. The bond we share in Christ often runs deeper than even blood ties when those natural ties are strained by unbelief or disobedience. Let trusted, mature women in the church walk with you, pray for you, and speak wisdom into your situation. You are not alone.

And remember, the one rule for wives is not a list of complicated conditions. It is simply this: submit to your own husband as unto the Lord. This does not mean endorsing his sin or being a doormat; it means ordering your life under God’s authority by honoring the position he still holds in your marriage. As you do that, even when he is failing, you remain in a place of peace. And God, who sees all, is able to do what you cannot do, awaken him from the stupor of work and drink and bring him home, first to the Lord and then to you. Pray without ceasing, and watch for the smallest signs of grace.
