Heart broken

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please let me and my boyfriend get back together. Let us be stronger than we’ve ever been. Let him understand all the hurt I’ve been through, reason for my actions. Dear father God teach me how to trust.

We hear the deep heartbreak in your request and we join with you in bringing this pain before our Father. We know how heavy it feels when love is broken and you long for understanding and restoration. God sees every tear and every hurt you have been through and He cares for you deeply. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18.

We want to gently encourage you to put your trust first in the Lord rather than in a restored relationship alone. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Learning to trust again after hurt begins with trusting God fully, for blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is Yahweh Jeremiah 17:7. When anxiety and longing overwhelm you, we are reminded In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also want to speak to your relationship with your boyfriend as the Bible teaches. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and that being a boyfriend or girlfriend should be considered courtship with the goal being marriage to another Christian believer. We pray not simply for a reunion or for feelings to return, but for a godly relationship that honors God, if it is His will. That means seeking whether this courtship is leading toward a Christ centered marriage, whether you are both believers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity or what fellowship has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14, and whether there is mutual forgiveness and purity. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. We pray your boyfriend would have understanding, but we also pray you both would take honest responsibility for your actions, confess any wrong, and extend grace, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we encourage you to repent and to pursue purity going forward, honoring God with your bodies. True strength together will only come if God is at the center and His will is sought above your own desires, knowing that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Sometimes God's good plan includes restoration and sometimes it includes healing and a different path, and we trust His thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to Father God but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are forgiven and can come boldly to the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear daughter who is heartbroken. We ask You to heal her broken heart, bind up her wounds, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Teach her how to trust again, first in You and then in godly ways with others. Help her to surrender this relationship to Your will, not our will but Yours be done. If it is Your will for this courtship to be restored and to grow toward a godly marriage that honors You, we pray You would soften his heart to understand her hurt, bring true repentance and forgiveness on both sides, and make any restored relationship stronger, purer, and centered on Christ. If it is not Your will, give her grace to accept Your path and hope for the future You have for her. Give them both wisdom, self control, and a desire for holiness. Draw them both closer to Jesus and help them seek a spouse in a way that glorifies You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only way to You, amen.

Jesus forgives you and he loves you!

Dear Heavenly Father, please bless this person and help this person and her boyfriend get back together, in Jesus mighty name, amen! God bless you!

We are so sorry for the heartbreak you are feeling right now. Wanting to be understood, wanting the hurt you have carried to be seen, and wanting to learn how to trust again are such honest longings and we hear how much this relationship has meant to you.

You asked God to teach you to trust, and that is a tender and brave prayer. In our experience trust is not something that flips on all at once. It grows a little at a time as we get to know someone's character and also take small, careful steps of vulnerability. It involves both what we see in another person over time and the willingness to risk being known. When there has been deep hurt, it makes sense that trusting feels fragile and confusing.

While your heart is still so tender, it can help to give yourself some space before making big decisions about the future. One steady next step could be to talk through what happened with one trusted, mature Christian woman or pastor who knows you well, someone who can listen without rushing you, help you sort through the pain and what healthy trust would need to look like going forward.

We are praying for you.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus' name. You see her hurt and her desire to love well. Bring comfort to her broken heart, give her wisdom and clarity in the days ahead, and gently teach her what it means to trust You more deeply and to discern trust with others. Lead her in Your way and surround her with safe, caring support. Amen.

Your sorrow has been poured out before the Lord and He is the One who heals the broken in heart. There are several forms of a broken heart, but there is one Physician for them all, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves as well as His fruit have virtue in them to make the nature other than it was before, to change the life blood and to give freshness where there was wounding and fainting.

You ask to be taught how to trust, and this is the very heart of the matter. Do not say, Lord, I cannot trust You unless I feel this or that, for that is to make a god out of your feelings and a savior out of your inward griefs. Trust is not to wait until you feel strong or healed or understood by another. Conversion is the manifestation of Christ's healing power, but you are not to have this before you trust Him, you are to trust Him for this very thing. As one who is sick trusts a physician before he is cured, so you are to trust the Lord Jesus Christ now, just as you are, sinking and wounded, and as you trust Him you shall find that they that trust in Him shall not be ashamed nor confounded. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel yourself dying and you shall live.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed He said, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one. If you will not trust God, neither shall you have peace, but if you will come now and believe that He is able to forgive you and trust Him to do so, you shall prove the promise true. The first thing the gospel demands of you as the grand condition of reconciliation with God is that you believe on Jesus Christ whom He has sent. He is the God of peace and has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation because we speak from experience of the joy which being at peace with God brings.

For this reason I cannot ask God to simply bless and strengthen a relationship as you desire it, apart from His holy will. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the privileges of living together and of the marriage bed belong within that covenant alone. To ask God to bless what lies outside that design would be to ask Him to contradict His own goodness. What I will pray is that the Lord will heal your heart, forgive your sin through the blood of Christ, and teach you to trust not in a man to understand your hurt, but in Christ who already knows it fully and bore it on the cross.

Come then to Him now with words like these, Jesus Master hear my cry, save me, heal me with a word. Do not wait to feel worthy or to be first understood by another. Trust your soul with Jesus, for He is able to save all who trust Him. Seek Him in His Word, where faith comes by hearing, and healing is linked with teaching. Walk in purity and in the fear of God, and commit your future, whether it be reconciliation or parting, wholly to His wisdom. If a future union is to be, let it be sought in holiness and in the way of marriage as God ordained, and if not, let the Lord Himself be your portion. He that has healed you will then teach you to serve Him, for healing must come before serving, and the desire to live for Him arises out of healing freely received.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heartbreak is heard, and God draws near to those who are hurting. It is understandable to long for restoration, to want to be understood, and to want trust to be rebuilt after pain.

We want to pray for you in a way that honors what God says is good and true. Scripture teaches that our deepest need for reconciliation is with God Himself, and that this reconciliation comes only through Jesus Christ, who took our nature, bore our sins, and opened the way to adoption and life with Him. When we are reconciled to God through Him, we learn what real love is. That love is patient and kind, it does not seek its own way, and it seeks the good of others and the glory of God. It is also the place where we learn to trust rightly.

Learning to trust does not begin with getting another person to understand us perfectly, though being understood matters. It begins with entrusting ourselves to God, who is faithful to keep what we commit to Him. He invites you to give your heart, your past hurt, and your future into His hands rather than holding them alone or placing the whole weight of your security on another person. As you do, He can heal the hurt you have carried, teach you to see yourself as He sees you, and give you wisdom for each step ahead.

We will pray for you, that God would bring healing to your wounds, that He would teach you day by day how to trust Him more deeply, and that He would give you clarity and peace about this relationship. We pray that He would help you and this young man to walk in purity and honor, since God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and designed sexual intimacy and living together to belong within that covenant. If it is His will for you to walk together toward that kind of covenant marriage, may He make your paths clear and help you both grow in Christlike love and honesty. If it is not His will to bring you back together, may He give you strength to accept His leading, comfort in your sorrow, and hope for what He will do next.

A prayer for you: Father, thank You that You see this hurt and that salvation and hope are found in Jesus alone. Bring healing where there has been deep pain, forgive sin and wash away shame through Christ, and teach this heart how to trust You above all. Grant wisdom to discern Your will for this relationship, courage to follow Your design for love and purity, and peace that rests in Your care. Lead toward what is holy and good, and let Your love shape every decision. In Jesus name, amen.

If you have a pastor or trusted mature believers nearby, we encourage you to share this burden with them so they can walk with you, pray with you, and help you seek God’s will in the days ahead.

Hearing the pain in your prayer, I want to gently point you to where real healing and trust begin. The hurt you feel over this breakup is real, and God sees it completely, but the most important relationship in your life is not the horizontal one with another person, it is the vertical one with God. That vertical relationship is the axis on which everything else turns. When that relationship with God is out of balance, every relationship with people will be out of balance as well. When that center is made right, it begins to bring the other relationships into right order too.

Scripture shows that God does not want a formal, legal or ritual connection with you where you try to earn His favor. He wants a loving relationship, like a child with a Father. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, because He invites you into that close, intimate relationship as His child through faith in Him. That relationship comes not by your works or by trying hard to be good enough, but by trusting what Jesus Christ has done for you, believing in Him for the forgiveness of sins and receiving the new covenant He made through His faithfulness, not yours.

You asked God to teach you how to trust, and that is a beautiful prayer. Trust grows as you come to know who God is. The more you know Him, the easier it becomes to trust Him. You come to know Him by reading His Word, seeing what He has done, what He has promised, and how faithful He is to those who put their trust in Him. Trusting in yourself or in your own understanding of how to fix this relationship is dangerous, because there will be places where you do not have the answers. The Bible calls us to trust in the Lord and to look to Him for salvation and help, so that He receives the glory.

It also helps to remember that relationship must come before fellowship and before effective prayer. The psalmist said, O God, you are my God, and then he said, early will I seek you. First there is relationship, you are my God, then there is fellowship, I seek you. As you establish and rest in your relationship with God through Jesus, your prayers and your daily walk with Him become real fellowship, not just words.

I understand your desire for this young man to understand your hurt and the reasons for your actions, and for the relationship to be restored and made stronger. God does care about your pain and He wants you to bring all of that hurt honestly to Him first. At the same time, trying to fix one horizontal relationship while the vertical one is neglected will only leave you more exhausted and more broken. If you focus only on getting this relationship back, you can end up neglecting the very center that needs to be healed.

God's design for love between a man and a woman is fulfilled in the lifelong covenant of marriage, and intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. I cannot ask God to bless or strengthen a dating relationship outside of that design, but I can pray that God will do His best and most loving work in both of you. If reconciliation is part of His will, pray that it would be built on a shared love for Christ, on purity, honesty, and a desire to honor Him, with wise counsel and with a clear direction toward marriage if you continue together. If it is not His will, pray that He will heal your heart, teach you to walk in wholeness with Him, and guide your future steps.

Fruit in your life, including love, patience, understanding and the ability to trust in a healthy way, is the natural result of abiding in relationship with Jesus, not something you can manufacture by trying harder. As your relationship with Him grows, it will enhance every other relationship, giving you wisdom for how to love others, how to set right boundaries, how to offer and receive forgiveness, and how to be courteous and compassionate even when you have been hurt.

So my prayer for you is that you would first draw near to your Father through Jesus Christ, that you would know how deeply He loves you, and that you would learn to trust Him day by day as you hear His voice in Scripture. Bring Him your broken heart, your confusion, and your desire to be understood. Ask Him to heal you, to show you His will for this relationship, and to make you whole in Him whether or not this young man comes back into your life. As you seek Him early and walk with Him, He will teach you what it means to trust, and He will bring the other parts of your life into His right order in His time.
