Your request for your parents shows such loving honor for them, and we are joining you in prayer for both of them before the Lord.
We do believe that God heals, and that He heals in many ways. Sometimes the healing is immediate, with a word or a touch, and sometimes it is gradual, unfolding over time. In the ministry of Jesus we see both, and we see that He was never confined to one pattern. Sometimes He touched, sometimes He spoke from a distance and said go home and you will find it done. All true healing is from God, even when it comes through the natural processes He has built into our bodies or through the care of doctors and medicine. He created nature and the processes of nature, so a healing that comes gradually through those processes is no less divine than one that comes in a moment. He also brings healing to the mind and heart, lifting fear and bringing peace even while the body is still waiting.
There is much about healing we do not understand. We do not know why some are restored quickly and others walk a longer road, and if we were the ones deciding we would do it differently. What we do know is that sickness is not always a sign of God's judgment for some particular sin. When Jesus was asked about the man born blind, whether his condition was because of his own sin or his parents sin, He answered neither, but that God had allowed it so His works could be shown. We should not carry the burden of thinking that every illness is a direct punishment. God in His sovereignty allows what He allows and He can work His purposes through it.
The gifts of healing are given by the Holy Spirit as He wills, and He is sovereign in how He works. We are encouraged to earnestly desire His work among us, and at the same time to remember that love is the more excellent way. God is able, and He is compassionate, and we can bring every need to Jesus in simple faith and leave the manner and timing of His answer in His hands. We do not need to look for a spectacle or a formula, but to trust Him.
So we are praying for your mother, that God would touch her lungs and clear the fungal infection, and give wisdom to those caring for her, and help her body respond to treatment while also sustaining her through diabetes. And we are praying for your father, for his eyesight to be strengthened, for relief from headaches, for the urinary tract problems and swelling in his feet to be healed, for his blood pressure to come into a healthy range, and for overall strength and health to be restored. We ask the Lord to give both of them peace, to guard their hearts from fear, and to make His presence and comfort very real to them and to you as you care for them.
Keep bringing them to the Lord in prayer, trusting His goodness and His power, whether He works instantly or step by step. He hears, He cares, and He is able to do what is best.
