We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your parents before our Heavenly Father, the Great Physician. We know that in times of sickness and weakness, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, but we are reminded in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." The Lord is near to those who call upon Him in truth, and He hears the cries of His children.
For your mother, who is battling diabetes and a fungal infection in her lungs, we pray fervently for complete healing and restoration. Diabetes is a relentless condition, but we serve a God who is greater than any disease. We declare that her body will respond to treatment, that her blood sugar levels will stabilize, and that the infection in her lungs will be eradicated by the power of Jesus’ name. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and command her immune system to rise up and fight with the strength that God provides. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). We claim this healing for her, Lord, and we trust You to restore her to full health.
For your father, who is struggling with eyesight issues, headaches, urinary tract problems, swelling in his feet, and blood pressure complications, we cry out for Your mercy and healing touch. These afflictions are heavy burdens, but we know that You are the One who bears our burdens and gives us rest (Matthew 11:28). We pray that his eyesight would be restored, that the headaches would cease, and that his urinary tract would be healed. We ask that the swelling in his feet would subside and that his blood pressure would stabilize. Lord, we declare that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we pray that You would renew his strength and vitality. "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:13-15). We stand on this promise, believing that Your healing power is at work in his life.
We also want to encourage both of your parents to seek godly wisdom in their care. Proverbs 3:7-8 says, "Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones." Sometimes, healing comes through obedience to the Lord’s commands regarding diet, rest, and medical treatment. We pray that they would have the discipline and wisdom to follow the guidance of their healthcare providers while trusting in the Lord’s provision.
Lord, we ask that You would draw near to your parents in this time of need. Let them feel Your presence and know that You are with them, even in the midst of their suffering. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding, and fill their hearts with hope. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, health, and wholeness over their bodies, and we trust You to bring about a testimony of Your faithfulness.
Finally, we want to gently remind you and your family of the importance of placing your trust in Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father and the healing power of God. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If your parents, or anyone reading this, have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we encourage them to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the first and greatest healing, and it opens the door to all of God’s blessings.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer, our Redeemer, and our Lord. Amen.
