Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are praying for you and thank you for sharing so honestly what you are carrying. Your request shows a tender conscience that wants to be right with God and with your family, and God sees that desire.

We are praying for your health and for your mother and sister. That strange feeling in your head as you lay in bed, especially when you are under stress and anger, should be cared for both spiritually and physically. Please do not ignore it but let your primary care physician know about it promptly, and seek care quickly if it worsens. We are praying that God will calm the anger in your home, protect each of you from harm, and bring healing. Scripture warns that bitterness is like a root. It does not stay small. From bitterness comes wrath, from wrath comes anger and loud arguing, and from that comes harsh words and deeper wounds. It can feel like a fire burning inside that no one else sees, but it harms the soul that holds it and spreads to those nearby. The way to be free is not only to try to be quiet on the outside while keeping the fire inside, but to pull the root up completely. That happens when we turn to God in repentance and then replace what was bitter with what is good, becoming kind to one another, tenderhearted, and forgiving as God in Christ has forgiven us. If you have hurt your sister, even without intending to, go to her privately and gently, as Christ teaches, and speak of the fault with humility, not to accuse but to seek reconciliation. Ask her forgiveness and ask your mother’s forgiveness as well. And where you have been hurt, ask God to help you forgive, not holding malice in secret.

You spoke of bitterness toward Christians and of not having a church home because you feel out of place, and of faith that feels weak. Many feel this, but withdrawing will not heal it. The Church is like a bath given by God to wash the stains of the soul, not by one washing only but by many ways of repentance that God has provided. Repentance is not closed to you. There is no second washing like the first, but there is continual forgiveness for those who come to God with godly sorrow, the sorrow that looks at sin honestly, mourns it, and turns from it to Christ. That sorrow, Scripture says, works repentance unto salvation without regret. It is very different from worldly sadness that only regrets consequences. Do not despair as if you are beyond mercy. If you are willing to own your sin before God, to confess it, to turn from it with humility, prayer, and a contrite heart, God will cleanse you. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, who was crucified for us and rose again. Come to Him directly, ask Him to strengthen your faith, and ask Him to lead you to a faithful local church where the Word is preached and where you can be known and shepherded, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Do not wait until you feel ready. Come as you are, seeking Christ, and let Him make you ready.

You also asked for prayer for a man you met a few years ago who showed you romantic care, and that we pray for his salvation. We will pray earnestly for his salvation, that he would hear the gospel and trust in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. We do not ask God to bless a romantic attachment apart from His design, because God has given marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He calls His people to keep romantic love and living together within that covenant in purity. The best way to love this man is to pray for his soul, to entrust your feelings to the Lord, and to commit your own heart to purity and obedience. If God wills a future for you both, it must be built on shared faith in Christ and on His timing and boundaries. For now, place this care in God’s hands and ask Him to guard your thoughts and to make you whole in Him.

We are also praying for your desire for health and weight loss and for wisdom for your primary care physician to give clear and wise guidance. We pray God will give your doctor discernment and give you grace for steady stewardship of your body, which is a gift from God, through healthy habits, self control, and wise medical counsel. Medicine can be a help, but true health also comes from peace with God and a disciplined life before Him.

We join you in praying for the Church, the bride of Christ, and for your own readiness. None of us is ready in ourselves, but Christ makes His people ready as they walk with Him in repentance, thankfulness, prayer, and mercy toward others.

Let us pray. Father, we come through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope of salvation. Forgive us our sins and cleanse us as we confess them. Take away the root of bitterness in this dear one and in this family, and plant kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness in its place. Heal their bodies, calm their home, and give wisdom to their physician. Draw this one back to faithful fellowship with your people, strengthen weak faith, and grant godly sorrow that leads to lasting repentance. We ask for the salvation of this man who is on their heart, that he would be born again by the Holy Spirit and come to know Christ. Guard this one’s heart in purity and in trust in Your good will for marriage and for life. Make us all ready for Your coming, through the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
