Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. I have prayed for you in the name of Jesus, asking our Father according to His will to touch your body, to lift that horrible feeling in your bladder and bring healing, and to let you know in a real way that He is near, and to give you the joy of hearing your son laugh again.
One of the greatest needs we have is simply the presence of God with us. Moses understood this when God promised, My presence shall go with you and I will give you rest. He knew what God could do, and he did not want to go anywhere without Him. It is wise not to venture anywhere apart from the presence of God. There are times of anxiety or pain when we are not aware of His presence, when it feels as if God has left us or is far away. That feeling is not the truth. The Lord is in that place with you, even in a place of discouragement or suffering. My prayer is that you will walk in a conscious awareness of His presence and fellowship, that you would sense His nearness and rest in it.
Scripture tells us that no one has seen God at any time, but the only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father has made Him known. We know the Father through Jesus. And because of Jesus we can come confidently to Him for help. The prophet Isaiah said of the coming Savior, with His stripes we are healed, and the apostle Peter echoes, by His stripes you were healed. Matthew applies that same promise to physical healing when Jesus healed the sick, so we know God cares about the body and is able to heal. At the same time the greatest miracle God does for any of us is the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. That life is in His Son. As it is written, God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life. So while we ask for physical healing, we hold even more tightly to the salvation we have through faith in Jesus Christ, which is a life of righteousness and peace and joy.
The joy of a son's laughter is a beautiful gift. In Scripture when God promised Abraham and Sarah a son in their old age, they both laughed, and God told them to name him Laughter, because he would bring such joy and blessing into their lives. A child's laugh is a reminder of God's goodness. I pray God will restore joy to your home and let you hear that laughter again as a sign of His kindness.
I have asked the Lord to heal you if it is His will, to ease your distress, to make His presence known to you in a way you can feel, and to strengthen your faith as you trust His Son. May He keep you in His love, fill you with His Spirit, guide you with His wisdom, and keep your heart at peace as you walk through this trial. In Jesus name, amen.
