We have heard your cry for mercy and we stand with you before the throne of grace, asking for healing and deliverance for your heart and for the clots in your leg that keep you from walking well or going far. We understand how heavy and frightening it is when your heart cannot pump as it should and your body feels weak, and we bring your body, soul and spirit before the Lord together, submitting to His perfect will as you have so humbly prayed, let Your will be done.

We are reminded that our God is the Lord who heals us. Exodus 15:26 tells us I am Yahweh who heals you, and Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Jeremiah 30:17 gives us His promise, But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And Isaiah 53:5 reminds us But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We cling to these promises while also trusting in His sovereignty and mercy, knowing that His ways are higher than ours.

We notice your prayer asks God for mercy but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we receive forgiveness and eternal healing for our soul and spirit. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. True healing for soul and spirit comes when we turn from sin and place our faith in Jesus Christ who died for our sins and rose again, and we encourage you to call upon His name for salvation and for healing, confessing Him as Lord with a repentant and believing heart. It is in His name that we can boldly ask for mercy and deliverance.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, lifting up this dear one who is suffering with heart failure and clots. Lord have mercy and let Your will be done in body, soul and spirit. We ask You to touch the heart that is failing and cause it to pump strongly again, to dissolve every clot and restore healthy circulation to the legs, to give strength to walk and to breathe without distress. We ask for deliverance from every affliction and for Your healing hand to restore health according to Your mercy. Heal also the soul and spirit, forgive sins, bring peace and comfort, and draw this dear one close to Jesus for salvation and wholeness. We ask You to guide the doctors and all those providing care, give them wisdom, and let Your peace that passes understanding guard the heart and mind. We pray that faith would be strengthened and that even in weakness Your strength would be made perfect. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our healer and our hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek medical care faithfully and to follow the wisdom of your physicians while you trust the Lord as your ultimate healer, and to call for the elders of the assembly to pray over you and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord as James 5:14-15 teaches, Is any among you sick, Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, casting all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, and resting in the hope that whether healing comes swiftly or through His sustaining grace day by day, He is with you and He loves you and His mercy endures forever.

We have been thinking of you since reading your request. To live with heart failure and clots in your leg that limit how far you can walk is exhausting in every way, and we understand why you are asking for mercy and for healing that touches body, soul and spirit. Thank you for bringing it to us so plainly, and for yielding it to God's will even while you hope for relief.

It can feel disorienting when your body sets such hard limits on daily life. Please do not carry this alone. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to stay closely connected to your medical team and to let them know how you are doing day to day. If you can, bring a trusted family member, friend or pastor with you to appointments so you have support and another set of ears, and let your church know how they can check in and pray with you over time.

We are holding you before the Lord now.

Father, we lift our brother to You in the name of Jesus. Have mercy and draw near with Your comfort and peace. Give wisdom to those caring for him, ease his breath and pain as You will, and strengthen him in soul and spirit each day. Let him know he is not forgotten and that You are with him. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

[Spurgeon]

We have carried your cry before the Lord and we join with you in asking for His mercy upon your body, soul and spirit.

You tell us your heart cannot pump as it should, that clots in your leg keep you from walking or going far, and that you need healing and deliverance. How heavy such a trial must be, to feel the very fountain of life within you grown weak, and your steps so limited. We pray that the Lord, who sees your affliction and hears your supplication, will have compassion upon you and do His gracious will toward you.

We are reminded that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. A word from Him, coming home to the heart as His, brings healing to head and heart, conscience and affection. And the prophet Malachi speaks of the Sun of Righteousness rising with healing in His wings. We ask that He would draw near to you with true heart, and that you may know His presence in this midnight of weakness.

Yet we must remember also that the greatest healing is that of the soul. When Jesus healed the sick He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. The Lord promises, A new heart also will I give you, and a right spirit will I put within you. He takes the stony heart away and makes the hard heart tender, that we may perceive His presence and behold the Lord Himself. For what would it profit to have a body made whole for a little while, and yet not have a heart reconciled to God. Therefore our first prayer for you is that you may know with full assurance the ransom which God has found. Without shedding of blood there is no remission, but the blood of Jesus speaks better things, and it pleads for mercy and not for vengeance. Through that blood there is deliverance from the pit, and God has said, I have found a ransom.

So we pray for you in this way, that the will of the Lord be done in you and for you, as you have yourself desired.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this suffering one. Thou knowest the failure of the heart, the clots which hinder, the weariness and fear. Lay Thy healing hand upon the body if it be Thy will, give wisdom to those who provide care, strengthen the heart that labors, and grant relief and restoration according to Thy good pleasure. Above all, grant healing of soul and spirit through faith in Thy Son. Sprinkle the conscience with the blood of Christ, give a new heart that trusts and loves Thee, and assure this soul of pardon bought with that precious blood. Deliver from all that oppresses, keep from terror, and let the inhabitant at last not say, I am sick, because sin is forgiven and Christ dwells within. Let Thy grace shine stronger and brighter to the end, and keep the spark divine which Thou hast kindled.

We leave you in His faithful hands, who alone can work deliverance with His hand and outstretched arm, and who will not forsake those who trust Him. May He renew your strength as you wait upon Him, and may you find Him to be your song and your salvation.

Amen.

[Chrysostom]

Thank you for sharing your need with us so openly. We have heard your cry for mercy and we are praying for you before the Lord who hears even the prayer offered in thought and in the heart.

We are grieved to hear of your heart failure and the clots in your leg, that you cannot walk well or go far and that your heart cannot pump as it should. This is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring your body, your soul and your spirit to God and to ask, let your will be done.

We pray for you now. Father in heaven, have mercy on your servant. You see this suffering and you know every weakness of the body. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, who alone is our salvation and our healer, that you would grant healing according to your gracious will. Touch the heart and restore its strength, dissolve the clots and restore circulation, grant deliverance and relief so that walking and daily life may be possible again. Heal also the soul and spirit, forgive sins, cleanse the heart, and grant peace that rests in Christ. Give wisdom to doctors and those providing care, and give patience and fortitude in this trial. We ask that your will be done, trusting that your yoke is easy and your burden is light, and that you give rest to souls who come to you. Amen.

We encourage you to keep looking to Jesus Christ alone for salvation and for every mercy, to continue in careful hearing of his word and continual remembrance of it, and to sing and pray to God in your heart throughout the day, even when you cannot go far. He is near to those who call upon him with a contrite heart, whether in the church or at home or on your bed. He hears and he is able to deliver from sin, to give patience in suffering, and to grant healing as it pleases him.

Please continue to follow the care of your medical team and let us know how you are doing so we can continue to pray for you. You are not forgotten. We ask the Lord to surround you with his comfort, to strengthen your faith, and to bring healing to your body, soul and spirit in his perfect mercy and timing.
