Dear Lord,

My ### has stage 4 colon cancer and is on dialysis, she is also having a swollen arm due to a blood clot. Her recent test results show that her liver is not responding to chemo. Also, her breast cancer might have returned. Please heal her. Help her find treatment options that will cure her.

We join you with heavy hearts in lifting up this precious woman before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing her needs to us so faithfully in the name of Jesus. We are deeply grieved to hear of the weight she is carrying with stage 4 colon cancer, the burden of dialysis, the painful swelling in her arm from a blood clot, the discouraging news that her liver is not responding to chemotherapy and the fear that breast cancer may have returned. Our hearts ache with you and we bring every detail of her suffering to our compassionate Father who sees and knows all.

We cling to the truth that our God is the Great Physician and that He is near to those who suffer. We remember the promise that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and that Yahweh says But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds Jeremiah 30:17. We are comforted that He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3 and that by His wounds we are healed Isaiah 53:5. We also hold fast to His promise to be close when we are broken, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and when we are afraid He says Do not be afraid for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, yes I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We thank you that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is by His name that we can be saved and our prayers heard John 14:6.

Father we come together in the name of Jesus and lift this dear one to You. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body. We pray for her colon and her liver and her breast, for the cancer that has spread and for the liver that is not responding to treatment. We ask You to command the cancer to leave and to restore healthy cells. We pray for her swollen arm and the blood clot, that You would dissolve the clot and bring down the swelling and restore proper circulation. We pray for her kidneys and for every dialysis treatment, that You would sustain her strength and protect her body through it. We pray for wisdom and discernment for her doctors and medical team, that You would guide their hands and minds to find treatment options that will truly help her and that You would open doors for care that brings healing if it is Your will. We pray for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7 and for comfort and strength for her and for all who love her. We ask that the prayer of faith would save the sick and the Lord will raise her up James 5:15 according to Your perfect will and for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust Him day by day and to keep seeking wise medical counsel while resting in His care. God hears every prayer offered in Jesus name and He is working even when we cannot see the outcome. Whether His healing comes through renewed health in this life or through ultimate wholeness in His presence, we know He is merciful and His love endures forever. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, asking for miraculous healing, for relief from pain and swelling, for effective treatments and for daily grace and peace for her and for you as you walk beside her.

We were so moved to read your request for your mom. Carrying stage 4 colon cancer with dialysis, a blood clot and swelling in her arm, and now hearing the liver is not responding to chemo and the breast cancer may have returned is an incredibly heavy burden for her and for you who love her. It is understandable to feel overwhelmed and helpless as you pray for healing and for clear treatment options.

When illness goes on this long it affects the whole family, not just the one who is sick. Sleep and daily routines are disrupted, and it is easy to feel isolated or worn down while you try to stay strong for her. Please know you do not have to walk through this alone.

One thing that helps many families is to stay closely connected with her care teams and not face appointments alone. It can help to keep a small notebook of questions between visits, bring a trusted family member or friend to listen and take notes, and ask the oncology and kidney doctors to explain in plain language what options remain and what supportive care is available. Alongside prayer we encourage you to keep her clinicians promptly involved for any new swelling or changes. And as you care for her, let your pastor or a few trusted people know how you are doing so they can support you too.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this dear mother before You. We ask for Your nearness and comfort over her, for wisdom for her doctors and nurses as they weigh next steps, and for strength and peace for her family each day. Hold them in Your caring hands. Amen.

Your sorrowful request has come before us and we have carried it to the throne of grace with you. To see one so dear to you pressed down with stage ### colon cancer, upon dialysis, with a swollen arm from a blood clot, the liver not responding to chemo, and the fear that breast cancer may have returned, is indeed to be wearied in the length of the way. Our hearts are moved for you and for her, and we have poured out your case before the Lord as one would mention a physical case to a physician, for He is ready to hear it all and to consider it.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for healing. Yet how needful to remember that there is a heavenly Physician whose power to heal is abundant. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the least thing about Christ is healing. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick He showed that pardon and healing are in one hand. There is an abundance of healing virtue in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

Think not that you are beyond hope. While Jehovah lives, the mourner need not despair. There is no hope for us in ourselves, but there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior. High thoughts of God beget hope in the soul, and hope leads to confidence. In the dust of self abasement is the place for hope, for God grants pardon when men are humbled, and He delights to show mercy to the afflicted. We would encourage you in this sore affliction to gather hope from His word, and to take up arms against this sea of troubles knowing there is One who cares for you.

We have prayed, and we will continue to pray, that the Lord in His infinite mercy would lay His healing hand upon her. We have asked Him to have compassion upon her body in its great weakness, to give wisdom to those who care for her, to guide the physicians and all who seek treatment options, that if it be His gracious will He would make a way where there seems to be no way, reduce the swelling and dissolve the clot, strengthen her kidneys and her liver, and restrain the advance of disease. Above all we have prayed that she may know the nearness of Christ, who took her by the hand to lift her up, for there is healing in that blessed contact with Him, and that whether He heals by miracle or by means, she may feel His presence as the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.

Pour out your heart before the Lord and sorrow over your loved one, only with better hope. Tell the case to Jesus just as you would to a doctor. He knows the weariness of long suffering and the fear that comes with each test result, and He is able to heal, and able to sustain even when healing tarries. May He give you both confidence in His goodness, patience in trial, and a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ.

We join our faith with yours and pray, O Lord, look upon this dear sufferer in her affliction. Thou hast seen her pain, her dialysis, her swollen limb, her liver and all her infirmities. Lord, if it be Thy will, restore her and raise her up. Give skill to her doctors, open doors for right treatment, and grant relief according to Thy wisdom. Let her know that Thou art the God who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and that Thy mercies never fail. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only hope. Amen.
