Healing

Your request for your husband’s healing touches my heart, and I join you in seeking the Lord’s powerful work. You are asking for both the Holy Spirit and a healing touch, and that is exactly the right prayer, because the two belong together. Scripture tells us that Jesus Himself was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. The same Spirit who enabled Him is now poured out on His people.

No one can truly call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit. So if your husband has any openness to Christ, even a flicker of faith, the Spirit is already drawing him. But we can always ask for more, for a fresh filling, a new overflow. The Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask, not in trickles but in generous fullness. So we can approach Him with bold expectation.

Sometimes we sense a spiritual deadness or a lack of power, just as believers in the early church did. Paul asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” because he knew the Spirit is the dynamic force for life and ministry. Every believer has the Spirit dwelling within, yet we are continually urged to be filled, led, and baptized in the Spirit so that His power flows out. Healing springs from that overflow.

I will pray that the Holy Spirit falls upon your husband in a tangible way, touching his body with healing, yes, but also awakening his whole heart to the reality of Jesus. Do not underestimate the influence of your own prayers as a believing wife. The Scriptures assure us that the faith of one spouse sets the home apart in a unique way, so continue to intercede with quiet confidence.

Let us pray together now: Father, in Jesus’ name we lift up this husband to You. Flood him with Your Holy Spirit, fill every part of him with life, peace, and restoration. Let the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead quicken his mortal body and bring complete wholeness. May he know in the depths of his being that Jesus is Lord, and may he walk in the healing and freedom that the Spirit provides. We trust You to do more than we can ask or imagine. Amen.

Keep asking, keep believing. The Holy Spirit is already moving, and our Lord delights to touch and restore.
