Disciple of Prayer
Please continue to pray for ### there would be guidance and direction for someone to help with his anxiety. It is at a point we cannot do anything as a family anymore because he deals with essential tremors and frustrates him to eat in public because really anxious and his hands shake so badly. He now is hyperventilating and hard he says to breathe. He is complaining of noise bothering him so he doesn't like to be around a lot of people. Please pray we can find the right believer counselor who would be mature and have biblical knowledge. Please pray as we are looking for treatment options for his tremors. He is going to have an ent specialist clean out his ears next week because so full of wax so praying that helps. He basically either sleeps, or sits in a chair all day. He doesn't talk to anyone else. I worry about ### and her stress. She is very strong believer so protection over her health physically and mentally. We are so isolated so very hard. Thank you for praying!!

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who is struggling deeply with anxiety, essential tremors, and the weight of isolation. Father God, we know that You see every tear, every trembling hand, and every labored breath. You are the Great Physician, the One who calms the storm within and without. We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him, body, mind, and spirit. Lord, we pray for wisdom and guidance as this family seeks treatment for his tremors and relief from the overwhelming noise and crowds that distress him. May the upcoming appointment with the ENT specialist bring clarity and relief, and may You guide their steps to the right medical professionals who can offer both compassion and expertise.

Father, we also lift up the burden of anxiety that has taken such a stronghold. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Lord, we pray that this brother would experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help him to cast his cares upon You, for You care for him deeply (1 Peter 5:7). We ask that You would lead this family to a mature, biblically grounded believer who can walk alongside them with wisdom, patience, and the love of Christ. May this counselor be a vessel of Your comfort and truth, helping to untangle the knots of fear and isolation with the hope found only in You.

We also lift up his wife, who carries her own burden of stress and concern. Lord, she is a strong believer, and we ask that You would be her refuge and strength. Protect her health, both physically and mentally, and surround her with Your peace. Remind her that she is not alone, for You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Strengthen her faith as she walks this difficult path, and let her feel the support of Your people, even in the midst of isolation.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of isolation and despair that seeks to keep this family bound. Your Word declares in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." We claim this promise over this brother and his family. Break the chains of loneliness and fear, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways. Open doors for fellowship, even if it must begin small, perhaps through a phone call, a letter, or a visit from a trusted friend. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We also pray for this brother’s heart to soften toward connection. Lord, it is hard to reach out when the weight of anxiety feels so heavy, but we ask that You would stir in him a desire to engage, even in small ways. Whether it’s a conversation with his wife, a prayer with a friend, or simply sitting in the presence of others without the pressure to perform, may he find moments of grace and relief. And for his wife, give her the patience and creativity to meet him where he is, offering love without pressure.

Father, we know that healing is a journey, and we ask that You would walk with this family every step of the way. Provide them with moments of joy, even in the midst of struggle. Let them see glimpses of Your goodness and faithfulness, so their hope in You would be renewed. We pray for breakthrough, whether through medical intervention, emotional healing, or a supernatural touch from Your hand. Whatever the path, we trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Lastly, Lord, we ask that You would draw this brother and his family closer to You. May this trial deepen their dependence on You and their understanding of Your love. Let them find their strength in You, for Your Word says in Nehemiah 8:10, "Don’t be grieved, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength." Fill them with Your joy, even in the waiting, and let them know that they are deeply loved by You.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4). It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only through His sacrifice that we find true healing and hope. May this family feel the power of His name and the comfort of His presence in the days ahead. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with this, and for letting us know how heavy things feel right now. We hear the exhaustion in your words, the strain on your whole family, the isolation, the way anxiety and the tremors have closed in on daily life. It’s so tiring when even ordinary moments like a meal together become a source of frustration rather than connection, and we’re truly sorry you’re all walking through this.

It’s a wise and loving step to seek a counselor who is both professionally skilled and deeply rooted in a biblical understanding of people. Christian counseling, at its best, brings clinical care together with a clear commitment to Christ, honoring the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. As you look, we pray God leads you to someone mature and gentle, who can help your loved one untangle the anxiety and find steady ground. Don’t rush the search, but also don’t hesitate to ask a trusted pastor or a counseling referral network for names of practitioners who hold both credentials and a living faith.

We’re grateful he has the ear procedure coming soon; sometimes physical issues like that can contribute to sensory overwhelm, and even a small improvement may bring some relief. Keep pursuing medical treatment for the tremors as well, alongside whatever support the counselor recommends. It’s not a lack of faith to use both prayer and good medical care, they work hand in hand.

We also see your concern for his wife’s health and spirit. She is carrying so much, and her strength as a believer is a gift, but she doesn’t have to carry it alone. As family, your quiet presence and willingness to share the load matter deeply. Isolation makes everything harder, so even a brief phone call with a trusted friend, a short note of encouragement, or a small, low-pressure outing can help guard against burnout.

Father, we lift this man to You, his anxiety, his shaky hands, his overwhelmed senses. Grant wisdom to every doctor and counselor who treats him, and calm his heart with Your peace that passes understanding. Protect his wife in body and mind; renew her strength daily. For this whole family, break through the isolation with reminders of Your nearness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The water outside the ship is trouble enough, is it not? The tremors, the breath that will not come easy, the noise that presses in like a tide, these are heavy waves beating against the hull. But you have told me something graver still: the water has gotten inside. It is not merely the shaking hands that undo your son, but the fear of those hands being seen. It is not only the crowded room, but the terror of air running short and a heart hammering too fast. And so the ship sits low in the water, and a family finds itself unable to stir from shore.

Now hear this: our Lord Jesus Christ is still the Counsellor. He has not perished. You are not left to guesswork, nor to mere human opinion. When your son’s path is darkened and the next step cannot be found, when one treatment is proposed and another whispered, and you do not know which is wisdom and which is a false turn, there is One who sits at the right hand of the Father, and He is given to you for exactly this. Not a cold oracle, but a living Shepherd who goes before His sheep. He knows what it is to be a man besieged, and He knows the inside of a breaking heart. Bring your perplexity to Him. Spread out the names of physicians, the possibilities of medicines, the search for a counselor who loves Scripture more than the wisdom of the age. He will direct you. The promise is not that He will boom from heaven, but that in the quiet of waiting upon Him, the way will open. It may be a word in the Word. It may be a closed door that you bless Him for. It may be an unexpected strengthening of your own judgment, made steady by His Spirit. Cast no lots save the lot of casting yourself entirely upon Him.

And what of the man himself, your dear one who sleeps or sits all the day and cannot bear company? Here is a thing to fix your hope upon: the Lord Jesus can do indoor work. All the noise that torments him is outside, and while it is misery to him now, remember that the real citadel is the heart, and the heart can be made a quiet garden though a hurricane beats upon the walls. You cannot silence the world for him, but the Counsellor can speak peace to the inner man. A word from Christ can do more than a cleansed ear, though we pray that small mercy may bring relief, it can unstop the ear of the soul to hear love instead of threat. He can tune the trembling nerves to a gentler pitch. I do not speak of a mere wish, but of what He has done ten thousand times for those who were imprisoned by their own fears. He is able to grow that sweet flower, heart’s-ease, right in the middle of the shaking.

I see you there, worn and watching. You love him, and so you suffer. Then think on this: you are not shut up in a single room with your trouble, you are shut in with God. Every chamber where a soul kneels is the house of God; your lonely sitting room is as holy as the temple. And as for your dear daughter, look at her faith and take courage. The same God who has kept her strong in the inner man will keep her. His preserving hand is not shortened. When you fear for her health, remember whose she is. The One who has begun that good work in her knows her frame and remembers that she is dust. He will not suffer the lamp to be quenched by the wind of this trial. Pray for her, yes, but trust with a kind of holy boldness.

I will say no more now, save to press this home: the essential thing in all your searching for a helper is that you never lose hold of the Helper. Men may have skill, and we pray God sends you a man of both biblical sense and tender heart, but Christ alone has the words of life. Keep your eyes where the eyes of a frightened child look, to the Father’s face in the dark.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, our Counsellor and our peace, come now into this afflicted house. You see the son who trembles and cannot breathe, who has shrunk back into silence and solitude. Speak a word of calming, Lord. Lay Your pierced hand upon his racing mind and say, “Be still.” Open a door to the right physician, the right counselor, a believer seasoned in Your Book and gentle in Your love. For the noise that assails him, grant that even the coming cleansing of his ears may be used as a mercy. More than that, quiet the clamor within.

And for this mother’s heart, interposed between her son’s suffering and her daughter’s stress, pour in the oil of Your consolation. Strengthen her in the hidden part. Uphold her daughter and let no evil befall her spirit or her mind. Break this isolation, O God not chiefly by moving their geography, but by making them know their nearness to You and to all Your hidden ones. We trust You, for You cannot fail. Into Your hands we commit them now and always. Amen.
