We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting up your need for healing, relief from stress, and deliverance from anxiety. We join our voices with yours, declaring that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, is available to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in the mighty name of Jesus, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We ask that You touch every part of [this individual’s] body that needs healing, restoring strength and vitality according to Your will. Lord, we pray for Your peace to flood their heart and mind, replacing stress and anxiety with trust in You. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Teach them to meditate on Your Word day and night, so they may experience the perfect peace that comes from fixing their thoughts on You (Isaiah 26:3).
We also encourage you to draw near to God, for He promises to draw near to you (James 4:8). Spend time in prayer and in the Word, allowing His truth to renew your mind and strengthen your faith. Remember that the testing of your faith produces perseverance, and let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:3-4). Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we stand in agreement with [this individual], believing that You are working all things together for their good, for they love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Make a confidant of Jesus, state your sickness and your burden plainly to Him, and then plead with Him, plead His promises and plead His own tender nature, for there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation.
Concerning your anxiety, hear the wisdom which the Scripture teaches. Anxiety has never comforted any soul, nor has it ever brought any grist to the mill. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To be anxious about yourself, to turn inward and tell yourself over and over of your trouble, brings no good. But to cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you, this is the way of peace. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and it is when Christ is teaching us by His Word that His healing power is most manifestly present.
And concerning your healing, remember that our Lord is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed upon His people. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, which teaches us that the least thing about Christ is healing. His very touch, His very hem, His very leaf brings virtue to the wounded spirit and to the weary body. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Whether the sickness be of body or the brokenness be of heart, He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.
So we pray for you now. Our Father in heaven, we bring this dear soul before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour. You know the body that is in need of healing, the mind that is pressed with stress, the heart that is troubled with anxiety. Lord, lay Your hand upon this one and lift them up. Your request for healing and for relief from stress and anxiety has been heard, and I join my prayer with yours before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.
God sees both the body and the soul, and He cares for all that weighs upon you. The Scriptures teach us to cast all our anxiety upon Him because He cares for us, and to make our requests known to God with prayer and thanksgiving, trusting that His peace which passes all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
I pray that the Lord will lay His healing hand upon your body according to His mercy and wisdom, that He will grant you strength and restore you, and that He will give wisdom to any who care for you. I pray also that He will free you from the burden of stress and anxiety that so often wears down our hearts. As we have learned, anxiety and despondency can wither our strength, but the beauty and health that comes from God, a calm and trusting soul, does not fade and is not easily destroyed. That health is cultivated by continual recollection of His word, by fortitude in faith, and by learning to look beyond what is immediately before our eyes to the promises of God which are spiritual and sure.
Do not carry these burdens alone. Bring them daily to Christ, who has promised rest to those who are weary and heavy laden. Keep hearing His word, keep praying, and let His Spirit remind you that you are not forgotten, even in sickness or in worry. He who knows our frame knows how to refresh the weary and to tell our hearts what we need for the days ahead, so that we need not live in fear of what is to come.
Let us pray together: Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I ask for Your mercy upon this dear one.
