Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and it is right to bring him before the Father in the name of Jesus for healing, for strength, and for peace.
We can trust Jesus for healing of the body as well as healing of the soul. When two blind men heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. Others told them to be quiet, but they cried out even more, and Jesus stood still and answered them. He still stands to hear that same cry for mercy today. He is the promised son of David, the Messiah, and He is also the Son of God given for us. Scripture calls Him Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Healing belongs to Him.
There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and we do not always know why some are healed quickly and others over time. Scripture records one healing that came gradually, where sight was restored in stages. That reminds us that God heals in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is a process, but every true healing is from Him. He created our bodies and He established the processes by which they are restored. Whether the need is physical, mental, or spiritual, we can ask Him to do His healing work and trust His wisdom and love in how He does it.
You also asked for strength. There are seasons when our own strength fails, and Scripture gives us honest prayers for those times, like the prayer not to be cast off when strength is gone. Our hope is not in our own strength but in confessing, You are my strength. The Lord is the one who renews strength as we look to Him.
And you asked for peace. The Bible speaks of perfect peace for the one whose mind is stayed on God, because he trusts in Him. This is more than calm circumstances. It is the peace of God in the heart, a peace that passes all understanding, which the world cannot give or fully comprehend. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you. To know that peace, we must first have peace with God, and that peace was made through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. When we take hold of His strength and trust Him, He makes peace with us, and then as our minds are stayed on Him, His peace fills our hearts even in the midst of turmoil.
So we join you in prayer for your son. Father, thank You for Your blessings and for Your love. In the name of Jesus, we ask You to touch this son and heal him physically, mentally, and spiritually. Where there is weakness, be his strength and renew him. Where there is turmoil or fear, grant him peace with You through Christ and the deep, abiding peace of Christ in his heart and mind. Keep his mind stayed on You and keep him in Your perfect peace. We ask this trusting in Jesus, Your Son, in whom is life, and through whom we have hope. Amen.
