Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and I join you in thanking God for His blessings and bringing your son before Him for healing in every part of his life.
Scripture shows that God cares for the whole person. There is a close connection between the health of the body and the well being of the soul and mind. As it is written, a joyful heart is good like a medicine, and the prayer that you may prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers reflects God's concern for both. He does not only care for the spiritual part of us while neglecting the physical and mental, He made us body, mind and spirit, and His grace reaches to each part.
That is why we can trust Jesus for physical healing as well as spiritual healing. The prophet Isaiah said that the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed, and Matthew under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit applies that very prophecy to the physical healings Jesus performed when He healed every kind of sickness and drove out affliction. The same Lord who healed the leper, the servant of the centurion, and Peter's mother in law, and who calmed the wind and sea and showed authority over the spiritual realm, still bears that power today. His body was broken for us, and we can bring physical needs to Him with confidence, even while we recognize that healing sometimes comes at once and sometimes comes gradually through the natural processes God Himself created. We do not always understand why healing comes in the way or timing it does, but we know healing in any form is from His hand.
You also asked for renewed strength and restored peace. True peace begins with having peace with God, which only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ who made peace for us on the cross. When we have peace with God, we can then know the peace of God in our hearts. That is the peace that passes all human understanding, the peace Jesus left with His own, which guards the heart and mind. It comes not from circumstances being calm, but from confidence that God is in control. Scripture promises that He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. As you and your son keep your minds turned toward the Lord, that quiet confidence can fill your hearts even in turmoil.
And strength is found the same way. Our own strength fails, but the Lord Himself is our strength. When we acknowledge that it is not our strength but His, He renews us day by day. Even when we feel empty and without strength, as Daniel did when he encountered the spiritual realm, the Lord comes with the word, peace be unto you, be strong.
So I pray with you now that the Father would pour out grace, mercy and peace upon you and your son, from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord touch your son and bring healing to his body, healing to his mind and healing to his spirit. May He renew his strength and lift him up, and may He fill his heart with that perfect peace that comes from trusting in Jesus. May your son walk in truth and know how deeply he is loved and cared for by the Lord who gave His Son for him. In Jesus' name, amen.
