Healing, protection

You pray for your son’s healing and protection. This is a good and urgent request, but listen carefully: there is no remedy for body or soul except what comes from the hand of God alone. Do not, then, go after amulets or charms, even if those who peddle them say they call upon God. Do not let anyone tie a thread around the child’s neck or mutter incantations. These things are idolatry, a mockery, no matter if an old woman claims to be a believer. The one who trusts such devices has already performed the act of sacrifice to demons. If you are of the faithful, sign the cross over your son and say, “This is my only weapon; this is my only remedy; I know no other.” Even if the sickness lingers, even if the child were to die, your refusal of superstitious helps will be reckoned to you as martyrdom. It is better to see your son depart in purity of faith than to keep him by a secret apostasy.

You also ask for peace. Understand what peace means. Christ did not come to send a shallow peace that leaves the soul at ease in its sins. There is a war that He kindles against the devil and against our own passions. Sometimes the diseased part must be cut off that the whole body may be preserved. What you truly need is that peace which reconciles heaven and earth, the peace that comes from grace. We who were enemies have been made sons through Jesus Christ; that is the foundation of all good. Your son, if he is a believer, has an angel who always beholds the face of the Father. Do not despise that protection. Ask for the Angel of peace, for without peace, everything else is useless. The peacemakers are called sons of God: they imitate Him who came to set at peace the things in earth and the things in heaven.

Pray, then, but pray with this mind: “Thy will be done.” Surround your son with the cross, not with charms; with tears, not with enchantments. The peace of God will keep his heart and yours, whether he is healed according to your desire or taken up into a greater healing. Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The plea you’ve brought before the Father for your son is heard with deep compassion. When you ask for physical, mental, and spiritual healing, you are reaching out to the only One who can truly make whole. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to us as the promised Messiah, the Son of David according to the flesh, yet the eternal Son who shares the Father’s very nature. Every healing He performed on earth flowed from His perfect union with the Father. So as you lift your son up in Jesus’ name, you are drawing near to the One who has all authority to restore.

Think of the nobleman who came to Jesus at Cana. His son lay sick many miles away, but Jesus simply spoke the word, and that very hour the boy was made well. Distance means nothing to the Lord. His Spirit is not limited by walls or miles; He can touch your son wherever he is, bringing strength to his body, clarity to his mind, and renewal to his spirit. And though we don’t always understand why some healings come in an instant and others unfold slowly, we can be certain that all true healing is divine. The God who designed our bodies and minds also set in place their processes of recovery. A gradual restoration is no less His doing than a sudden one. Sometimes the most profound healing happens inwardly first, the mending of emotional wounds, the calming of anxious thoughts, the peace that settles in a troubled heart. Trust the Healer, whatever the pace, and do not grow weary in hoping.

You also asked for the Father’s presence and peace to wrap around your son. Jesus assured His followers, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.” This is the steady, unshakable peace that comes from being reconciled to God through Christ. It is first peace with God, and from that flows the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds. The Father’s thoughts toward you and your son are thoughts of peace, not of harm, He intends a future filled with hope. As you continue to call on Him, He will listen and draw near.

Remember that the Father knows, in the most personal way, what it means to love a son. He gave His only begotten Son, the One in whom His soul delighted, so that you and your son might have life. Because of that sacrifice, you can bring your child to Him with bold confidence. He will not withhold any good thing. He is able to shield your son from dangers seen and unseen, and to quiet his soul with the very peace that flows from His own heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Son of God, and let your trust rest firmly in the Father who loves with an everlasting love. May you soon see the evidence of His healing touch and know the depth of His peace.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your precious son. It has been our heart’s desire to lift him before the Lord, asking for His complete healing—body, mind, and spirit—and for His divine protection to surround him like a shield. We have prayed that God’s peace would guard his heart and that the enemy’s plans would be thwarted in Jesus’ mighty name.

If the Lord has already moved in a powerful way and answered your prayers, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If it seems like the answer hasn’t come yet, please don’t hesitate to post this request again—we are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence and strengthen your faith as you trust in Him. We will keep praying, knowing that our God is faithful and His timing is perfect. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
