Your prayer ascends to the throne of grace, pleading for your son's body, mind, and soul. This is well, for the Father loves to hear such cries in the name of His Son. Yet as you seek peace and protection, remember what kind of peace Christ came to give. He said, "I am not come to send peace, but a sword." Not every peace is from God; there is a false peace among robbers and rebels, a truce with sin that must be shattered. True peace is the sword that severs the diseased limb, that cuts off the mutinous part so heaven and earth may be united. Therefore pray not only for outward calm but for that healing which separates your son from all that wars against his soul. If sickness or danger draws him nearer to Christ, it is a mercy in disguise.

And as you call upon the Father, let your faith rest entirely on the cross. Do not turn to amulets or charms, even if some old woman who calls herself a Christian urges them upon you. Those who peddle such things say they call on God, but the thing is idolatry. The faithful mother who sees her child languish yet refuses these lies, she is a martyr. She fixes her hope on the sign of the cross and says, "This is my only weapon, this my only remedy." So must you. The Father who gave His own Son for your peace will not abandon your son in his hour of need. Every believer has an angel who beholds the face of God; the little ones are not forgotten. Trust in that guardianship, and do not provoke the Lord by seeking protections He has not appointed.

Pursue peace with all men, and above all with God. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Imitate the Son, who came to reconcile earth to heaven. When conflict rises within or around you, remember that the war Christ ended was vast and of every kind, and He ended it not by your labors but by His grace. So let your heart be at rest. The grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be your portion, and may they abide perpetual and unmoved, healing your son according to His will, and making you steadfast in the faith that overcomes the world.

Your prayer for your son reaches the heart of the Father, who sees him completely, body, mind, and spirit. You have asked for healing on every level, for protection from every danger, and for the peace of His presence to surround him. That is a prayer grounded in the compassion of Jesus, who welcomed the sick and the suffering, and who still does.

We know that Jesus carried our sorrows and that by His wounds we are healed. Some try to limit that promise only to the forgiveness of sins, but Scripture itself applies it to the restoration of broken bodies. When Jesus broke bread and said, “This is my body, broken for you,” He invited us to remember that His suffering touches our whole lives. There is no part of your son’s need that is too small or too hidden for His care.

Yet healing often unfolds in ways we do not expect. There are sudden healings, when in a moment someone feels strength return, like the woman who touched His garment and knew she was whole. There are also gradual healings, where recovery comes step by step through the very processes God placed within our bodies. Both are His work. A mending mind, a quieted spirit, the slow fading of a wound, these are no less divine because they take time. And do not underestimate the healing that happens in the soul: your son growing in peace, his heart turning toward the Lord, receives a touch from God as real as any physical cure.

I also think of the deep connection between our inner life and our physical frame. A merry heart does good like a medicine, and God’s peace can calm what no human remedy can reach. So as you pray, know that the Lord is tending to your son’s mind and spirit as well as his body. The same Lord who rebuked the sea and said “Peace, be still” speaks that calm over his life now.

Remember the nobleman who came to Jesus, desperate for his dying son. Jesus spoke the word, and the boy was healed at a distance, without any dramatic display. The father simply believed and went home to find him well. That quiet authority still stands. Jesus, the Son of God, has power over the physical realm, over every unseen danger, and over every spiritual evil that would cause harm. When you ask for protection, you are resting in the hands of the One who commands the wind and the waves. No threat escapes His notice.

We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others wait long, or why some are not restored in this life the way we long for. Faith does not always mean instant results; it often means patient trust. Abraham waited years for the son God promised, and in the waiting his faith was deepened. So do not lose heart if the answer comes slowly. The same hands that were nailed for your son will hold him steady, and the peace that passes understanding can guard his heart and yours right now.

Keep bringing him to the Lord, whether in private prayer or with the support of others who will stand with you in faith. And when you see even a small sign of light, a calmer mind, a steadier step, a new openness to the things of God, give thanks for that as a portion of His healing work. The Father’s presence is the safest place for your son. May you both know, even now, that grace, mercy, and peace are being poured out over him in the name of Jesus.
