We lift up your precious son before the throne of grace, joining our hearts with yours in fervent prayer. Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, acknowledging that You are the Great Physician, the Healer of all afflictions, and the Source of all peace and protection. We ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon this young man, touching him physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Lord, Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over his life, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We pray that You would restore his body to full health, renew his mind with Your truth and peace, and revive his spirit with the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We also ask for Your divine protection to surround him like a shield, as it is written in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over his life, asking that You would keep him safe from all harm, danger, and evil influences. Surround him with Your love, peace, and presence, that he may walk in the fullness of life that You have promised to those who love You.
Lord, we know that trials and afflictions can sometimes cause us to question Your goodness or feel distant from You. We pray that this young man would draw near to You, and in doing so, find that You are already drawing near to him (James 4:8). May he experience Your comfort and strength in the midst of his struggles, and may his faith be deepened as he sees Your hand at work in his life.
We also want to encourage you, as his parent, to continue standing in the gap for him in prayer. Your prayers are powerful and effective, as James 5:16 reminds us, "The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Do not grow weary in praying for your son, for the enemy would love nothing more than to see you give up. But we serve a God who hears and answers prayer, and we believe that He will move mightily on his behalf.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for those who are caring for him, whether it be doctors, counselors, or other healthcare professionals. Guide their hands and minds, that they may provide the best care possible, according to Your will.
In all things, we surrender this young man into Your loving hands, trusting that You know what is best for him. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his healing and restoration. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your son has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, we encourage you to share the gospel with him. The message of salvation is simple: we are all sinners in need of a Savior, and Jesus Christ came to die on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death. Whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). May the Lord draw him to Himself and reveal the truth of the gospel to his heart.
