Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son has been heard and we join you in lifting him before the Father with compassion and hope.
We pray with you for his healing and protection and for quiet, restful sleep. The Scripture reminds us that the Lord who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and that even when we close our eyes in the night, He remains watchful over us. While sleep overtakes us and we cannot keep ourselves by our own power, we can rest in the One who never ceases to guard His children. He is near to those who are troubled in heart and mind, and He is able to bring calm where there has been fear and distress.
We understand how heavy the burden of trauma can be, and how nightmares can make the night feel unsafe. God does not despise this suffering. He invites us to bring every anxiety to Him, for He cares for us. True rest is a gift from His hand, and when the heart is set upon Him, even sleep can become ordered and gentle rather than full of wild and troubling visions. We ask the Lord to comfort your son, to quiet his mind, to soften the memories that disturb him, and to fill the night with His peace which passes all understanding.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have access to Your mercy and salvation. We lift up this beloved son to You. Touch him with Your healing hand, comfort him in his distress, and guard him from all harm and danger. Surround him with Your holy angels and let Your presence be his shield day and night. Grant him deep and peaceful sleep, free from fear. Take away the nightmares that trouble him and let his dreams be filled with Your love and light. Restore his soul, renew his strength, and help him to know that he is held securely in Your care. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our hope and our healer, Amen.
Continue to bring him before the Lord each day, and encourage him to walk in the light, to watch and be sober in soul, trusting not in his own strength but in the grace of Christ. If the distress continues, encourage him also to seek wise and caring help alongside prayer, so that he may be supported in both body and soul. The Lord is faithful, and He hears the prayers of those who call upon Him through His Son.
