Silas
Beloved of All
Your love for your son and your faithful prayer for him are heard by God. Thank you for bringing him before the Lord so honestly, asking for healing and protection and peaceful sleep. The Father sees your heart and He sees your son in his struggle, just as He sees every affliction of His children, and He draws near to comfort with His presence and peace.
We can come to Him with confidence because of Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son. He is not a created being among others, He is the Son of God who came from the Father, and there is no other way to come into the life and acceptance of God except through Him. Scripture says that he who has the Son has life. When Jesus walked on earth He showed that His works were the Father's works, and He healed with a word even at a great distance, as when He healed the nobleman's son, and He opened the eyes of the man born blind. He still has power to touch and to heal physically, mentally and spiritually. Nothing is beyond His reach when we call on His name.
The heart of the Father toward a son in need is also shown in how He receives the one who is lost and broken. When the prodigal returned, still in his filth and shame, his father did not wait for him to clean himself up or prove himself worthy. He ran to him, embraced him and covered him with love, and restored him to his place as a son, not a servant, putting shoes on his feet and rejoicing that the one who was lost had been found. That is the Father's heart toward your son. He is not distant or reluctant. He is seeking, caring and ready to restore and to keep.
So I join you in praying for your son. I ask the Lord Jesus to lay His healing hand upon him in body, mind and spirit, to quiet every tormenting thought and to give him a sound mind. The Bible tells us God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind, and we ask for that clear, settled mind for him. I pray the Lord will guard him from all harm and evil, that when he lies down to sleep the Lord will keep him, and when he wakes he will know he is held. May the Lord comfort him with the assurance that he is loved and kept as a son, and may His peace guard his heart.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we bring this precious son before You. Touch him and heal him. Speak Your word of peace over his mind and grant him deep and restful sleep. Surround him with Your protection and let no evil have hold on him. Let him know Your nearness and Your love, and draw him into life through Your Son. We trust him into Your faithful hands and thank You for Your mercy and power to heal. Amen.
