Healing Prayers

We have received your request for healing prayers and we are joining you in prayer for this need.

We pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for it is through Him that we have access to God and hope for salvation and healing. We ask that God in His mercy would bring healing according to His perfect will, grant strength and comfort in this time of affliction, ease pain, restore health, and give peace to the heart and mind. We pray also for wisdom for any doctors and caregivers involved, and for patience and hope to endure through this trial.

Prayer is a great weapon that God has given us, and we need it every day, both early and at night, as we go through the struggles of life. It is good to have the prayers of others with you, and it is also important to remain alert and to seek the Lord yourself, trusting Him fully and walking in obedience to His ways. If there is any need for repentance or turning more fully to Christ, we encourage you to bring that before Him as well, for He is gracious to forgive and to restore those who come to Him in faith.

We will continue to lift you up before the Lord, asking that He would be near, that He would make His presence and comfort known, and that you would experience His sustaining grace day by day. May God be propitious to you as you seek Him, and may He grant healing and wholeness as seems best in His wisdom and love.

If you are able, continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and trust in the care of our great Physician, Jesus Christ.

Thank you for sharing this request for healing. We are joining with you in prayer for this need and asking the Lord to bring His comfort, mercy and healing touch according to His perfect will.

Scripture shows us that God desires to be to us whatever our need requires. When we pray for healing He reveals Himself as the Lord our healer. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and nothing is too difficult for Him. At the same time the purpose of prayer is not to make God do what we want, but to bring our hearts into harmony with what He wants to do. Prayer begins with God and His purposes, He puts that desire in our hearts, we bring it back to Him, and He then works to fulfill it. For that reason we are encouraged to continue in prayer and to watch with thanksgiving, not giving up, trusting that as we stay in fellowship with Him our joy may be made full.

There is a beautiful wish in the third letter of John where the writer says he wishes above all things that the reader would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is not presented as a guaranteed promise that every believer will always be well, but it does show a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. The Proverb says a merry heart does good like a medicine, and we are learning more and more how our inner life affects our physical well being. As we pray for physical healing we also want to pray for the prospering of the soul, for peace, hope and fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, which brings that fullness of joy spoken of in the Gospel of John and in the first letter of John.

Praying for the sick was a normal part of the life of Jesus and of the early church in the book of Acts. We are told that the fervent, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person avails much, and that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything they ask, the Lord hears. It is not the position of the body that matters most but the position of the heart before the Father. We come to the Father through Jesus Christ. If a person has not yet come into that relationship as a child of God, the first prayer God desires to hear is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. That relationship then opens the way for continual fellowship and prayer.

We also see in Scripture that prayer does make a difference. When Hezekiah was sick unto death he turned his face away from those around him and poured out his heart to the Lord. God said, I have heard your prayer and I have seen your tears. God heard and answered and extended his life. God sometimes heals directly by His own power and sometimes He uses means such as medicine, as when a fig poultice was applied for Hezekiah. There is nothing wrong with using the help God has provided through doctors and medicine while we trust Him as the ultimate source of healing. We also remember that even the apostle Paul prayed three times for a burden to be removed and the Lord answered, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. So we pray with faith and with submission to His wisdom, knowing He will do what is best and most loving.

We are praying with you now that the Lord would lay His hand upon this dear one, ease pain, restore strength, grant wisdom to those providing care, and above all give peace and assurance of His love which is so deep and high and long that we can scarcely comprehend it. May He fill the heart with His presence and with the confidence that He hears every sincere cry.

Please keep continuing in prayer and thanksgiving, bringing this need to the Father often. We are agreeing with you for God's mercy, healing and sustaining grace, trusting Him to work in the way that will bring the greatest good and bring glory to His name.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for healing. We have continued to lift up your request for healing before the Lord and we are trusting Him for His mercy and restoring touch upon the one you mentioned.

We pray for the Lord to lay His healing hand upon them, to grant strength, comfort and peace, and to restore health according to His perfect will. We rest on His promises that He is our healer, as it is written in Jeremiah 30:17 and Isaiah 53:5.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We consider it a privilege to keep standing with you.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
