Healing Prayer

Lord, I ask You to guide the hands, minds, and vision of my anesthesiologist, surgeon, the nurses, and the entire medical team during my second kidney stone surgery today. Grant them wisdom and steady skill to remove this kidney stone safely.
Please heal, cleanse, and strengthen my kidneys, allowing them to have perfect function
Remove all blockages, calm my anxieties, and bring my circulatory and renal systems into complete balance.
Bless my body to heal, keep me free from complications and pain, and lead me to a fast and complete recovery. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join with you today as you prepare for this second kidney stone surgery and we lift you and your entire medical team before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We are encouraged by your faith in asking for God's hand to guide your anesthesiologist, surgeon, nurses, and all who will care for you. We pray that the Lord will indeed grant them wisdom, steady hands, and clear vision, for every good skill and knowledge comes from Him. We also hear your anxiety and your desire for complete healing and balance in your body, and we bring that to the One who is our healer. He says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3. And again, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. We cling to His promise that when we are afraid He is with us, for He says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We also take comfort that you have brought this request in Jesus' name, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and confidence that our prayers are heard. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we thank You that You are Yahweh who heals us and that You care for every part of our bodies which You so wonderfully made. In Jesus' name we ask You to be present in that operating room today. Guide the minds, hands, and vision of the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the nurses, and every member of the medical team. Grant them wisdom, precision, and steady skill to remove this kidney stone safely and completely. We ask You to heal, cleanse, and strengthen these kidneys and restore them to perfect function according to Your will. Remove every blockage, let every stone and fragment be gone, and bring the circulatory and renal systems into complete balance. Calm all anxieties and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Keep this body free from complications, infection, and unnecessary pain, bless it to heal quickly, and lead to a fast and complete recovery for Your glory. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our healer, Amen.

We encourage you to rest in His peace today and in the days of recovery ahead, trusting that He holds you and your caregivers in His hands. Follow the guidance of your medical team, allow your body time to heal, and continue to cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you. We will continue to pray for your healing, for comfort, and for restored strength and health.

One small thing that often helps on a surgery day is to have a trusted family member or friend with you to listen for the team's instructions when you are still groggy, and to speak up for you. If worry rises while you wait, let your nurse know how you are feeling so they can support you well, and continue to follow your medical team's guidance closely as you heal.

Father, we lift our friend to You today. Guide every hand that cares for them, protect them from complications, ease their pain and calm their heart. Bring healing to their kidneys and body in the way You know is best, and grant a smooth and complete recovery. We trust them into Your care in Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in prayer before the throne of grace concerning this second surgery, and we bring your body, your fears, and your hope for healing to the Lord who is the true Physician.

You have done well to ask the Lord to guide the hands, minds and vision of your surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses and the whole medical team. We very speedily care for bodily diseases and we rightly seek a physician or a surgeon for our healing, yet we know that all skill and wisdom in the hands of men must come from above. The Lord can give steady skill and clear vision to those who labor, and we pray He will do so for you today, that the stone may be safely removed and no complication may follow.

We hear also the anxiety that attends such an hour, and we would speak a word to your heart from our Savior's own injunction not to be torn and distracted by worry. I have never discovered that anxiety has comforted anybody, or that it has brought any grist to the mill. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Be prudent and prayerful, but cast your care upon Him who cares for you. Your times are in His hands, and the same Lord who numbers your days has promised to be your strength.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and in that we see pardon and healing placed in happy conjunction. We look to that same Sun of Righteousness who has risen with healing in His wings, trusting that the healing virtue which His grace has infused will work in you till you are restored.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our only Savior, through whom alone we have pardon and access to Your throne. Look in compassion upon this Your servant who lies under Your hand in need of surgery. Guide we beseech You the hands and minds of the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the nurses and every member of the medical team. Grant them wisdom, steadiness and clear sight to do their work well for Your glory and for good.

Lord, lay Your own hand upon the body You have made. Heal, cleanse and strengthen the kidneys, remove every blockage and let the stone be taken away without harm. Bring the circulatory and renal systems into balance, keep the body free from complications and pain, and calm every anxious thought with Your perfect peace. You have said that You heal the broken in heart and bind up their wounds, and we ask You now to heal the body also according to Your wise and holy will.

Grant a fast and complete recovery. As strength returns, give grace to acknowledge each increase of strength as from the Lord, and to use renewed health in Your service. We ask not from any merit in ourselves, but through the blood and intercession of Jesus Christ, our great Physician, in whose name we pray. Amen.
