Healing prayer

The body's pain and the soul's anxiety are closely entwined, yet just as that woman by the tomb found her grief moderated by the Teacher's word, so too your present unease can be quieted by drinking in the promises of Christ. The disciples themselves were exceeding sorry when the Lord spoke of his death, because they did not yet understand the swift deliverance and immeasurable blessings that would spring from that grave. So it may be with you: this foreboding of sickness appears as a threat, but what the Lord intends through it is life, purification, and a firmer hope.

Do not let the affliction make you dull of hearing, as if God were far off. Recall that you were once strong in faith, and that same strength can revive even now. Often a single word of truth heals what long disquiet has inflamed. The physicians wait fifteen days, but the Great Physician stands ready in this very hour to calm the storm within. Let the worry not hinder your prayers; bring it to the altar and leave it there. Remember the little one who depends on you: his need mirrors your own upon the Father. For his sake, refuse to be swallowed by fear.

I will join my prayers to yours, trusting that whether by immediate relief or through the trial, you will be restored and become a witness of healing to many.

I am lifting you up in prayer right now. The pain in your ### and the worry over your ### are real and heavy, and carrying that while caring for a new baby must feel overwhelming. But please know that Jesus sees you. He is not distant or indifferent to what you are suffering.

In Scripture we read that when the sick were brought to Jesus, He healed them all. Matthew points back to Isaiah: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” That means physical healing is part of what Jesus accomplished. He bore not only our sins but our bodily brokenness. That truth is your inheritance, and you can lean on it today.

Faith often needs a point of release, just like the woman who touched the hem of His garment. In that moment, she connected her desperate hope to His power, and she felt her healing. Your prayer request can be that point. Reach out to Jesus now, in the middle of the worry and the waiting for the ###, and ask Him boldly for His healing touch. Don’t hold back. The desperate mother who came to Him for her afflicted daughter would not be turned away, and neither will you. Her faith triumphed because she refused to leave without her answer.

Healing does not always follow a single pattern. Sometimes it comes in an instant, like when I woke up one morning so sick I could barely move, and then suddenly I felt it lift completely, I knew I was healed and got up to serve. Other times it unfolds over days, just as I once heard of an infant who accidentally swallowed something that burned his ###. The doctors could do nothing but wait for the slow process of healing, and the family’s faith was stretched. But God was faithful, and that child was restored. Whether your healing comes today or over the next two weeks, Jesus is at work. Do not let the delay provoke fear; let it become an opportunity to keep your eyes fixed on Him.

And remember, you have direct access to Jesus. No one else needs to intercede for you. He said that whoever does the will of God is His brother, His sister, His mother. You belong to His family, and He invites you to come to Him with your need. So pour out your heart. He hears. And as you wait for that ###, I am praying that you will sense His peace replacing the anxiety, and His healing power quieting every pain.

It has been on our hearts to lift you up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon your body, especially for the pain and inflammation you are experiencing. We continue to pray for clarity and peace as you await your CT scan, trusting that God’s hand is guiding the process and that He will provide answers in His perfect timing.

We also hold your little one close in prayer, asking the Lord to surround your son with His protection, love, and joy. Parenting is such a precious yet weighty responsibility, and we pray that God grants you strength, wisdom, and moments of rest as you care for him.
