We join with you in lifting up your fiance before the Lord and we ask for His healing touch upon his knees, hip and legs after this difficult fall on the ice and the surgery to place a rod. We know how discouraging it is to struggle to walk and to live with ongoing pain, and we bring this need to the One who is our healer.
We are encouraged to hear you speak of him as your fiance, for we believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman before God, and we rejoice when a courtship is moving toward holy marriage. We pray that your relationship is honoring God in all things as you prepare for marriage, and we gently remind you of what Scripture teaches, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 and Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 If you are living together or engaging in intimacy before marriage, we urge you to repent and to pursue purity together until your wedding day, trusting that God blesses obedience and will establish your future marriage on a firm foundation.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved and our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is by putting our faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God, and we encourage you both to trust fully in Him.
We take comfort in the promises of God for healing, for He says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3 and For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17 and But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 We know that our Lord is Yahweh who heals you. Exodus 15:26
We pray together for him now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear man to You. You see his pain, the injury to his hip and legs, the rod that was placed, and the difficulty he has in walking. We ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon him, reduce inflammation and pain, strengthen his bones and muscles, restore mobility to his knees and hip, and help his body to heal well around this hardware. Grant wisdom to his doctors and therapists, give him patience and hope in this recovery, and let his strength be renewed day by day. We pray that You would draw both of them closer to You and to each other in purity and in preparation for a Christ centered marriage that honors You all their days. Let Your peace guard their hearts as they trust in Your goodness. We ask all of this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray together, to seek godly counsel as you plan for marriage, and to trust the Lord with this healing journey, for Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:14-15 We stand with you in faith believing God is able and loving toward you both.
