Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we are joining you in prayer before our merciful Lord who is our healer and Prince of Peace.
We bring before God your many afflictions, the pain in your ears and jaw, the pain in your neck on the left side, the trouble with your knees, your eyes and your skin, and the weight you have lost because you cannot eat without discomfort. We ask the Lord to touch each place where you suffer, to take away the headaches and the pressure in your head, to restore your ability to eat and to be nourished, and to give you strength in your body again. We pray that He who is the true Physician would lay His healing hand upon you and restore you to health, so that you may be strong and be a testimony to His goodness.
We also lift up the other person you mentioned who carries the same kind of suffering. We do not know his or her name, but God knows. We ask that God would have mercy on that person also, bring healing and comfort, and give peace in the midst of pain. May you both know that you are not alone and that the Lord sees and hears.
As we pray for healing of the body, we also remember that God often uses bodily trials to draw our souls closer to Him and to bring healing within. As Scripture says, after Jesus healed the paralyzed man He said, Behold, you are made whole, sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you. This is not to say that every sickness comes from a particular sin, but it reminds us to come to Christ with a humble heart, to confess our sins, to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and to seek first the health of the soul. When the soul is healed through repentance and faith, the whole person finds true life, whether the Lord chooses to heal the body now or to sustain us through the trial.
Therefore we pray not only for relief from pain, but for a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind, for peace that guards your heart, and for faith to endure. Like a good physician who does not abandon the sick but continues to apply the remedy, the Lord is patient and faithful. Even if healing comes slowly, through many prayers and through the care of doctors and proper treatment, we trust that He is at work for your good.
So we pray together: Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy on Your servants who suffer. Touch the ears, the jaw, the neck, the knees, the eyes and the skin. Restore what has been weakened. Take away fear, headaches and distress, and grant the ability to eat and live without discomfort. Heal also the other person who suffers in the same way. Forgive sins, strengthen faith, and make both strong to bear witness to Your grace. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified in their bodies and lives. Amen.
We will continue to pray for you. Keep seeking the Lord, keep trusting His mercy, and use every good means He provides for your health, while resting in His love.
