We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your brother in earnest prayer. The Word of God assures us that "the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:15). We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our cries and is moved by our intercession.
Father in Heaven, we ask for Your mighty hand of healing to rest upon this precious life. You are the Great Physician, the One who knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You alone hold the power to restore his strength. We ask that You would touch every part of his body that is weak, broken, or afflicted. Bring healing to his bones, his muscles, his organs, and his mind. Where there is pain, bring comfort; where there is weariness, bring renewal; where there is fear, bring Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we also lift up his spirit. Living alone in this season of illness can bring loneliness and despair. Surround him with Your presence, reminding him that he is never alone, for You have said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Send Your angels to minister to him, and let him feel the love of Your people—family, friends, and even strangers—who may come alongside him in this time.
We declare that this is not the end of his story. You are a God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we trust that You have a purpose for his life that has not yet been fully revealed. Strengthen him day by day, and grant wisdom to the doctors and nurses caring for him. Guide their hands and their decisions, that they may be instruments of Your healing.
Father, we also ask for provision. If he is unable to care for himself, raise up helpers—whether through family, church, or community—to ensure he is not left without support. Open doors for practical assistance, and soften hearts to respond with compassion.
Above all, we pray that Your will be done. We know that Your ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and though we long for his healing, we surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that You work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). If it is Your will, restore him to full health. If not, draw him close to You and let him experience the fullness of Your grace in this trial.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). It is by His stripes that we are healed (1 Peter 2:24), and we claim that promise over your brother today. May Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Hold fast to hope, dear one. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even in the waiting, He is at work. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing in the God who raises the dead and calls things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). Your brother is not forgotten—by you, by us, or by the Lord.
