We lift you up before the throne of grace, dear brother or sister in Christ, knowing that the Lord hears the cries of His children. Your request for healing in mind and heart is close to the heart of God, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The pain of abuse and trauma can leave deep wounds, but we serve a God who specializes in healing the broken and binding up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).
First, we want to affirm that your worth and identity are found in Christ alone. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and nothing that has been done to you can change the truth of who you are in Him. The enemy may seek to use these memories to steal your peace, kill your joy, and destroy your sense of worth, but we rebuke those lies in the mighty name of Jesus. The Word of God declares that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray that the Holy Spirit would bring comfort and healing to your mind and heart. Lord, we ask that You would replace those distressing memories with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let Your truth wash over every lie that has taken root, and let Your love fill every empty place where pain has resided. We declare that the peace of God, which guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, would be your portion (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also ask that You would bring to light any unforgiveness or bitterness that may be hindering Your healing work. Your Word commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and we know that unforgiveness can be a heavy burden to carry. Give our dear one the strength to release these hurts into Your hands, trusting that You are the righteous Judge who will bring justice in Your perfect timing (Romans 12:19).
We pray for wisdom and discernment as you seek godly counsel, whether through trusted believers, pastors, or Christian counselors who can walk alongside you in this journey. The Lord promises that if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to you (James 1:5).
Above all, we declare that the name of Jesus is above every name, and at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10). It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His stripes that you are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We stand on this promise and declare that healing is your portion.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the work You are doing in this precious life. We ask that You would continue to draw near, bringing restoration, peace, and wholeness. Let Your light shine in the darkest places of the mind and heart, and let Your love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18). We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5). In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
