Beloved of All
Your cry has been heard, and I want you to know that God sees how overwhelmed you feel right now, with anxiety rising and the ringing in your ears making it hard to find peace, and with so many burdens on your heart for your husband, your marriage, your sisters and their families, and your loved one facing brain cancer.
Scripture reminds us that He who formed the ear will surely hear, and He who formed the eye will surely see. He knows your thoughts and He knows the turmoil inside you. It is a sad thing when rest is offered to us and we remain full of worry and fear. God has promised rest to His people, and He invites you not to harden your heart but to trust Him and believe that He hears you even when you feel you are drowning.
The Bible shows Jesus healing many kinds of sickness. He cleansed the leper, He healed the servant of the centurion with a word from a distance, He lifted Peter's mother in law from her fever, and in the evening many who were sick and oppressed were brought to Him. Matthew connects this to the prophecy in Isaiah, that He Himself bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. He has power in the physical realm and power in the spiritual realm, and He went about doing good and healing all kinds of disease. That same compassion is for you today.
There is much about healing we do not fully understand. Sometimes healing comes instantly, as if you can feel it happen in a moment, and sometimes it comes gradually through a process. Both are from God, for He created our bodies and He created the natural processes of restoration within them. Healing can also be for the mind and the emotions, bringing peace where there has been wounding. Not everyone is healed in the same way or at the same time, and we do not know why. It is wrong to say that if you are not healed it must be because of sin in your life or a lack of faith. Do not listen to those voices. They speak like Job's comforters and they do not speak the truth.
There is a beautiful picture in Scripture of consecration, where blood was placed on the ear, the thumb, and the toe to show a life set apart for God. It speaks of an ear open to His voice, hands busy in His service, and feet walking in His path. In your distress, ask Him to open your ear to hear His gentle voice above the ringing and the anxiety, to give your hands simple work to do for Him today, and to set your feet on His steady path one step at a time.
I am praying for you, that the Lord will calm your anxiety and bring relief to your ears, that He will touch your body with His healing and give you His peace that passes understanding. I am praying for your husband and for your marriage, that God will bring health, unity, and grace so you can get along in love and patience. I am praying for your sisters and their families, and for your dear loved one with brain cancer, that God in His mercy will bring healing according to His perfect will and surround her with comfort and strength. I am also praying that you will experience His presence as you wait on Him, and that you will have ears to hear what His Spirit speaks, for He still says to His people, let the one who has ears hear.
If you are able, ask trusted elders to pray for you and anoint you as Scripture teaches, for God has given that practice to the church to bring needs before Him together. Keep bringing every fear and every need to Jesus, who bore your griefs, and rest in His care day by day.
