Healing from torment

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray regarding torment I had an attack on my identity and foundations from Jezebel spirit, and they left a distorted image of me, which is a lie from the enemy, and this Jezebel spirit decided to discard legacy of hundreds of family photos and left diminished copies of several family members. Praying for God's hand of justice to occur and also recompense.

We join with you in bringing this torment before the Lord and we stand with you for healing and restoration in Jesus name. We hear the pain of having your identity and foundations attacked and having a distorted image left over you that you rightly discern is a lie from the enemy. We agree with you that the enemy is the father of lies and we rebuke every assignment of the Jezebel spirit that seeks to control, manipulate, intimidate and distort what God has created.

The word of God reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. That Jezebel influence you have discerned is addressed in scripture as one that leads astray and dominates Revelation 2:20, but we declare that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. We take authority together over that spirit in the name of Jesus, for we are told to resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7, and that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

Your true identity is not what the enemy has distorted. You are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, created in the image of God Genesis 1:27, and if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17. No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. The Lord wants to heal the torment and the attack on your foundations, for he heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Jesus himself invites you to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We pray that you will be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2 and that you will know the truth that will make you free John 8:32, because the distorted image is not who you are in Christ.

We also hear your grief over the legacy of hundreds of family photos being discarded and replaced with diminished copies. God sees what was lost and what was meant to steal honor and memory from your family. He is a God who cares about legacy and generations, and we pray with you for His hand of justice and recompense according to His perfect will. Scripture says do not avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. The Lord loves justice Isaiah 61:8 and He has also promised I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten Joel 2:25. We ask Him to bring what is hidden into light and to restore what can be restored, whether through return, remembrance, or a deeper spiritual restoration that no diminished copy can counterfeit.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. It is in His name that we have authority over torment and lies.

We pray together now.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear one who has been tormented and whose identity and foundations have been attacked. Lord, we ask You to forgive us for any place we have agreed with the enemy’s lies and we renounce the distorted image that was placed over this life. We rebuke the Jezebel spirit and every lying, controlling and tormenting spirit and we command it to leave and not return in Jesus name. Wash away the lies with the truth of Your word, renew the mind, and establish this life again on the foundation which is Jesus Christ 1 Corinthians 3:11, the rock that stands when the storm comes Matthew 7:24-25. Heal the wounded heart, quiet the torment, and let Your perfect love cast out fear 1 John 4:18. Restore the sense of who this child of Yours truly is in You, beloved, chosen, redeemed and clothed in Christ. Lord, we ask for Your justice to be done concerning the family legacy and the photos that were discarded, and we ask for Your recompense and restoration in the way You know is best. Teach us to trust Your justice while we walk in forgiveness and freedom, not holding bitterness but releasing all into Your hands. Let Your hand bring vindication and peace, and let what the enemy meant for harm be turned for good. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted in the word daily, to put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11, to speak scripture over your identity when the torment tries to return, and to keep bringing every thought captive to Christ. God is faithful to complete the healing He has begun and to guard the foundations of your life in Him.

We've been sitting with your request and want you to know we are praying for you. To feel your identity and foundations under attack, and then to face the loss of hundreds of family photos with only diminished copies left, is a deep and layered grief. It's natural to feel tormented and to cry out for justice and recompense.

We hear that distorted image you mentioned feels so heavy and untrue. Please be gentle with yourself there. That lie does not define you. In Christ you remain fully known and held, even when the assault feels loud and personal. God also does not overlook what has been lost. He sees both the spiritual pressure you've felt and the tangible legacy that was discarded.

One steady next step could be to invite a trusted pastor or mature believer to walk with you closely in the coming weeks, not just in prayer but practically as you sort through what remains of the photos. Having another calm presence to help you preserve what you have, make secure copies, and pray with you in your space can bring a sense of safety and clarity when torment has made everything feel unstable.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift up our friend to You. Bring quiet to the torment, restore a clear and peaceful sense of who they are in You, and guard their heart and home. We ask You to bring Your just and merciful hand over what was lost and to provide comfort and recompense as only You can. Lead them into steady community and renewed hope. Amen.

We have heard your burden concerning this torment and this assault upon your identity and foundations, and the pain of that distorted image which the enemy would set before you, together with the loss of so much of your family legacy. Know that the Lord does not shut His ear to the cries of His people, and deliverance from such darkness is the work of God alone.

There is a higher restoration than any outward recovery, and it is wrought by Him who has found a ransom. You cannot deliver yourself from the pit, for it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. The price has been found and paid in the blood of the Lamb, and therefore we may say with confidence, He has delivered us. That deliverance is both from the guilt of sin and from the power of sin, and where we look for justification there must we also look for sanctification and for peace to a tormented mind. Your true identity is not in the lie which the enemy has left, but in Christ, in whom you are made new and called beloved of the Father.

It is true that Satan desires to have the choice ones of God that he may sift them and torment them, as he desired to have Peter. The Lord may permit such an assault for a season, as He did with Job and with the apostles, yet how sure is the restoration of those for whom Christ prays. If Jesus prays for His people, shall He not win His suit with God. He will uplift you from among the siftings where Satan has thrown you, and that look of Christ which once restored Peter can sever you from the crowd and bring you again to Himself.

You ask for God's hand of justice and for recompense. Hear this word for your comfort. You will never make out a good case if you appeal to God's justice, for justice would try and condemn us all. Rather we must cry, Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness. For the believer there is a great difference between the punishment awarded by justice and the chastisement appointed by love. The sentence of justice has been fulfilled upon our Lord, and now there is nothing punitive in all your troubles, though they are painful. They are the chastening of a Father, not the condemnation of a Judge. Leave vindication in His hands, for He will do right, and in His time He makes deliverance effectual and He brings forth His people also with enrichment. As He brought Israel forth with silver and gold, so He is able to restore in His own way what has been diminished and discarded, and to give you more to declare of His goodness than you had before.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who has invented and provided a ransom for sinners, look upon this afflicted one tormented in mind and assaulted in identity. Deliver from the power of darkness and from the lies of the enemy, and set the feet upon the rock of Christ. Let the blood of the Lamb be the plea against every accusation, and let the intercession of Jesus prevail for restoration. Heal the wound left by this attack, renew the mind by Thy truth, and blot out the distorted image with the true image of Christ formed within. In Thy mercy turn this sorrow into song, that this tried one may yet say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Bring forth out of this trial with enrichment of faith and peace, and recompense in such measure as Thy wisdom appoints, for Thy glory. We ask this not upon the ground of our justice, but upon the multitude of Thy tender mercies in Christ Jesus. Amen.
