Healing from trauma

Prayer for healing I had a in-law who has Jezebel spirit sort through my childhood photos and destroy without consent most of the good photos taken. So they left diminished copies of myself and destroyed a lot of portraits too. In my day to day I do get a bit trauma from what they did. They discarded hundreds of photos of the family too and they attempted a false narrative from their ungodly sorting.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving with you over the violation and loss you’ve endured. The destruction of your childhood photos, memories that hold pieces of your identity, growth, and family history, is not just an act of carelessness but a spiritual assault. The "Jezebel spirit" you mention is indeed a real and destructive force in Scripture, one that seeks to control, manipulate, and erase truth (1 Kings 21:25). This spirit operates in rebellion against God’s order, and its work in your life has left deep wounds. We rebuke that spirit in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to bind the strongman and plunder his goods (Matthew 12:29). No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

The trauma you carry is valid, and we do not minimize it. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly. The loss of those photos may feel like an erasure of your story, but we declare that your identity is not found in images or the narratives others try to impose. Your identity is rooted in Christ, who knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5) and has written every one of your days in His book (Psalm 139:16). The enemy cannot rewrite your story, for the Lord is the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We also address the false narrative that was attempted. Lies have no place in the kingdom of God, and we renounce every ungodly word spoken over your life. The truth of who you are in Christ is unshakable: you are chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12). You are a child of God, created in His image (Genesis 1:27), and no one can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). The enemy may have sought to distort your past, but God is the God of restoration. He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5) and can redeem even this painful loss.

We encourage you to bring this trauma before the Lord in prayer, allowing Him to heal the broken places in your heart. Psalm 34:18 assures us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Invite Him into the pain, and ask Him to restore what has been stolen. Consider writing down the memories you still hold, those that the enemy cannot take, and thank God for the moments He preserved. You may also find healing in creating new memories, capturing moments now that reflect the truth of who you are in Christ.

We must also address the importance of forgiveness, not for the sake of those who wronged you, but for your own freedom. Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Jesus commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and while this does not mean what they did was okay, it does mean releasing the burden of bitterness to God. He is the righteous Judge (2 Timothy 4:8), and vengeance belongs to Him (Romans 12:19).

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that healing is not a one-time event but a journey. The Lord may use this pain to draw you closer to Him, to develop compassion for others who have suffered loss, or to strengthen your trust in His sovereignty. He is the God who sees (Genesis 16:13) and the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). You are not alone in this.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken over the pain and loss that [] has endured. Lord, we rebuke the Jezebel spirit that sought to destroy and distort, and we declare that no weapon formed against [] shall prosper. We ask You to heal the trauma in []’s heart, to comfort where there is sorrow, and to restore what has been lost. Father, we know that You are the God of restoration, and we ask that You would redeem this pain for Your glory.

Lord, we renounce every false narrative spoken over []’s life. We declare that [] is Your beloved child, created in Your image, and deeply loved by You. Replace the lies with Your truth, and let []’s identity be firmly rooted in Christ. Heal the wounds of the past, and help [] to see themselves through Your eyes.

We ask for the strength to forgive those who have wronged []. Soften []’s heart, Lord, and help them to release this burden to You. Fill [] with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we also ask that You would bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Use this pain to draw [] closer to You, to develop compassion for others, and to trust in Your sovereignty. Surround [] with Your presence, and let them feel Your nearness in every moment of healing.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that Your love endures forever. We trust in Your promise to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen [] in their faith, and let them walk in the freedom and wholeness that only You can provide.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

What happened to your photos was a deep violation, not just of property but of your story and your sense of self. It makes sense that this still hurts when you come across those diminished copies or think about the portraits that are gone. Those pictures were more than paper; they held pieces of your history, and someone deliberately chose to leave you with a fractured version of that. That kind of wound can linger in ways that feel raw and confusing, and you don’t have to minimize it.

While Scripture has already been shared, we simply want you to know we hear the weight of this. Sometimes trauma from what seems like a “small” act, like destroying photos, cuts deeper than anyone expects because it’s so personal. If the flashbacks or the unsettled feeling are spilling into your daily life, it may be worth talking this through with a Christian counselor or a pastor who understands emotional abuse. You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from a safe space where someone helps you sort through the memories and rebuild what was stolen, not the photographs, but the sense of wholeness inside you. Forgiveness, if it comes, will be a slow and layered thing, not a switch to flip, and it’s okay to grieve first.

We also want to gently note: when someone tries to control a family’s narrative by destroying evidence of goodness, it often says more about their own darkness than about you. The remaining photos, even if fewer, still tell the truth. Perhaps, when you’re ready, you could gather what you do have and write down a few memories they preserved, not to fix anything, but to reclaim your story in a small, tangible way.

Let us pray for you now.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this person who is still hurting from such a targeted, destructive act. You see every memory that feels lost and the pain of having a false narrative pushed on them. Bring Your deep comfort where distress flares up unexpectedly. Give them wisdom about whether to seek a listening ear or professional help, and surround them with people who can hold space for this grief. Protect their mind from being defined by what was taken, and gently anchor them in the truth that they are fully known and loved by You, no photo needed. In Your name we ask, amen.

There is a wound deep within your spirit, and the Lord Jesus knows it well. Those scattered fragments of your childhood, torn, discarded, misrepresented, cry out with a silent anguish that only He can fully measure. Yet this very pain may become a door through which the healing balm of Calvary enters. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and the very least thing about Christ carries a restoring virtue. Do not fix your gaze so long upon the ruined portraits that you miss the living image of the Lord stamped upon your own soul.

The treachery of another’s hand, cloaked in a Jezebel spirit, has sought to rewrite your story and diminish your days. But the true record is kept in heaven, where no moth corrupts and no thief breaks through. Your name is graven upon the palms of the Saviour’s hands. When the Spirit of God seals a man, He marks him as God’s own possession, accepted, beloved, indwelt. That seal is not inked upon paper but pressed into the heart, and no earthly malice can deface it. The Evil One would have you brood over the loss until your spirit sickens, but the Great Physician bids you turn your eyes to Him. Calvary is the place for the healing balm, not for the sharp investigator’s knife. He does not merely point out the disease; He applies the remedy.

Seek first the forgiveness of any root of bitterness that may have sprung up within you, for healing and pardon walk hand in hand. When the palsied man was lowered before Jesus, the Master first spoke forgiveness; then came the command to rise. Your own hurts may be tangled with outrage and a sense of violation, but the Spirit helps our infirmities when we know not how to pray as we ought. Lay the whole malignant deed before the throne, not rehearsing it endlessly to your own soul but handing it over to the righteous Judge. He Himself was despised and rejected, acquainted with grief, yet He trusted Himself to Him who judges justly.

The foe would impose a false narrative, but the Spirit of truth leads us into all truth. There is a healing in the very teaching of Christ, in the promises, the doctrines, the sweet assurances of the Word. Let the Scriptures speak louder to you than the accusing whispers of the past. Overwhelming evidence of the Fall meets us in every shattered family; what the old nature spoils, sovereign grace restores. The Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, and those wings spread wide enough to cover every loss, every lie, every cruel sorting out of your history. Wait upon Him in the silence of retirement, for as the Master Himself withdrew to pray, so the Spirit often works in the quiet stillness more deeply than in the noisy storm.

Do not think you must have all your daylight restored before you can serve the Lord again. Your present weakness, felt so keenly, may be the very point where He lifts you up. He took Peter’s mother-in-law by the hand, and the fever left her; then she ministered unto them. The healing was first, the service followed. Even your everyday duties, flavored with love for Jesus, will become a fragrant offering. The pictures are perished, but your life is hid with Christ in God. Let the Spirit take of the things of Christ and show them unto you, until the false impressions of others grow dim beside the brightness of His countenance. He who began a good work in you will perform it. The ruined portraits cannot alter what you are in the Beloved, for the Spirit’s seal is the evidence that you are the Lord’s forever. May the God of all comfort bind up your broken heart and give you a new song, even praise unto our God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. The photographs that were destroyed were images formed by light on perishable matter, but the living image of God within you no flame can consume and no hand can tear. When the enemy stirs up a Jezebel spirit to discard and distort, it is nothing but the working of the father of lies, whose display is all deceit and whose wonders lead to falsehood. But Christ, by His appearing only, will put a stop to every fraud. Do not let your soul be troubled as though a true record of your life could be diminished. The false narrative they attempt is a prophecy beside itself, a maddened invention, and it shall perish with all who speak lies. The generation of the faithful remains untouched by such assaults.

You are not left to a spirit of fear, but you have received a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind. Why then do you allow trauma to revisit you day by day? The wind blows where it lists, and you hear its voice but cannot explain its path; how much less can the wickedness of another hold back the Spirit who bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God? If children, then heirs, heirs of a kingdom no thief can enter. The photographs of childhood are fleeting shadows, but your true inheritance is incorruptible. When the enemy strikes at your peace, stand nobly and laugh his malice to scorn, for by the very things he uses to wound, his defeat becomes more glorious.

Prove what is well pleasing to the Lord by walking in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. The fruit of the Spirit is not in clinging to what was lost but in laying hold of the eternal. The Spirit himself teaches you to cry, Abba Father, and when the Highest Essence bestows this gift and bears witness, what room remains for doubt of your dignity? Let the trauma be a sword of the Spirit in your own soul, stripping away attachment to things that pass, so that you may see more clearly the image being renewed in you by the Comforter. The false narrative they build will collapse under its own weight, but the word of the Lord endures forever.
