We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and his battle with COPD and asthma. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed every cell in his body and knows the depths of his struggle. We declare Your Word over him: "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we stand on this promise of healing, believing that by the stripes of Jesus, ### is already healed in the spiritual realm, and we pray for the manifestation of that healing in his physical body.
We rebuke every spirit of infirmity that has taken residence in his lungs and airways. In the name of Jesus, we command every inflammation, infection, and obstruction to leave his body now. We speak life to his immune system, may it rise up in strength, fortified by the power of the Holy Spirit, to fight off every illness and virus. Lord, we ask You to open his airways, restore his lung capacity, and grant him the ability to breathe easily, even in the heat. "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions" (Psalm 107:20). Let Your healing word go forth and accomplish what You have sent it to do in ###'s life.
Father, we also pray for wisdom for the doctors and caregivers involved in his treatment. Guide their hands and minds as they seek to provide care, and let every decision they make align with Your will for his healing. We ask for financial provision if there are medical expenses that weigh heavily on the family, trusting that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider.
We encourage ### and his family to stand firm in faith, even when symptoms persist. Healing is a journey, and we know that Your timing is perfect. We pray that they would not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season, they will reap if they do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Surround them with a community of believers who will stand in agreement with them, lifting them up in prayer and offering practical support.
Lord, we also ask that You draw ### and his family closer to You through this trial. May this season of suffering produce perseverance, character, and hope in their lives (Romans 5:3-4). Let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray that they would fix their eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).
We declare that ### will not be defined by his diagnosis. Instead, he will rise above it, walking in the fullness of life and purpose that You have for him. May he be a testimony of Your healing power, bringing glory to Your name. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for the victory that is already won through the blood of Jesus. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.
