I praise God with you for the love He has stirred in your heart for your son. A parent’s desperate cry over a suffering child is something the Father understands deeply. When Abraham was told, “Take now your son, your only son whom you love,” it pointed ahead to the greatest act of love: the Father not withholding His own beloved Son for our sake. He knows the ache you carry, and He is not far from it.
Jesus, the Son of God, went about healing all manner of sickness and disease. I think of the nobleman whose son lay sick many miles away. Jesus did not need to be physically present. He simply spoke the word, and at that very hour the illness fled. Distance is no hindrance to His authority. I am asking the same Lord to speak healing into your son’s body right now. May every inflammation be stilled, every trace of infection cleansed, and his immune system fortified. In this oppressive heat, I pray he draws breath freely and without struggle, for the Son holds power over the physical realm.
I will not pretend to understand why some healings come in a moment while others unfold gradually, like the man who first saw people as trees walking before his sight was fully restored. Yet I firmly believe that any true healing, whether instantaneous or through the intricate processes our Creator built into the body, is a divine work. I pray that whatever course this takes, you will see the hand of the Son of God sustaining and restoring.
While we ask for relief in his lungs, do not overlook the healing that touches the mind and heart. The father in Scripture who watched his son suffer and could not speak must have known a gnawing weariness. I pray that peace would guard your own spirit, and that you would sense the nearness of the One who wept at the tomb of a friend. He is gentle with your fatigue and your hope.
All of this rests on who Jesus is. The demons themselves cried out, “Jesus, thou Son of God,” acknowledging an authority they could not defy. Peter declared, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and on that rock the church is anchored. The same Son who calmed storms and cast out sickness is the Son in whom the Father delights. If you have the Son, you have the Father also. So let your faith rest there, not in a formula, but in a Person.
I join you in asking for a complete, tangible healing. Yet no matter what we see in the coming days, stand on this: you and your son are known by the Father who adopted us as His own children through Jesus Christ. We are not merely hoping in a distant power, but in the Son who gave Himself to redeem us. May your household know His life-giving touch, and may your son breathe easy in the shelter of the Most High.
