We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious son who is struggling with COPD and asthma. Father God, Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise today, believing that You are the Great Physician who can bring complete restoration to lungs that struggle to breathe and airways that are inflamed.
Lord, we ask You to touch this young man’s body with Your healing power. Where there is inflammation, we pray for Your soothing balm to bring relief. Where there is infection, we ask for Your cleansing fire to purify and restore. In this high humidity that makes breathing even more difficult, we ask for Your supernatural intervention—let every breath be easy and full, as You designed it to be. Strengthen his immune system, Lord, so that his body can resist illness and viruses, standing firm in the health You intend for him.
We also lift up his spirit, for physical affliction can weigh heavily on the heart. Remind him of Your nearness, as Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Let him feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy in this young man’s life. In the name of Jesus, we command every attack on his respiratory system to cease. We declare that his lungs are strong, his airways are clear, and his body is whole, for by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life over him, for Your Word says in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue," and we choose to speak life.
We also encourage this family to seek wisdom from medical professionals, for You often work through the hands of those You have gifted with knowledge. But above all, we trust in Your power to heal, whether through medicine or miracle. Give them patience and perseverance in prayer, knowing that You hear every cry of their hearts.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You on behalf of this son. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will for his life. May he grow in faith through this trial, drawing closer to You and experiencing Your faithfulness in new and profound ways. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.
