Healing for my mother

Please pray for my mother ###. She is ill with infection in her stomach.

We lift up ’s mother before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the pain of seeing a loved one suffer. The Word of God assures us that "the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up" (James 5:15). We stand on this promise, believing that God is not only able to heal but is also near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon ’s mother. Cleanse her body of this infection, Lord, and restore her to full health. Strengthen her immune system, ease her pain, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that by Your stripes, she is healed (1 Peter 2:24).

We also pray for wisdom for her doctors and caregivers, that You would guide their hands and minds as they treat her. Give them discernment to know the best course of action, and may Your healing power flow through their efforts. Surround and her family with Your presence, Lord, and remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

If there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or sin in her life or in the lives of those connected to her, we ask that You reveal it, Lord, so that it may be confessed and repented of. Your Word tells us that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray for complete restoration, not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well.

We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus, for it is written that "the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). We declare that sickness has no place in her body, for she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and You have plans for her welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, we trust in You, knowing that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). You are the God who heals, and we believe that You will move mightily on her behalf. May Your will be done in her life, and may Your name be glorified through her healing. We thank You in advance for the victory, for we know that You hear us and that we have the petitions we have asked of You (1 John 5:14-15).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for letting us know about your mother, , and for giving us the honor of praying with you. Watching a parent struggle with an infection like this can stir up anxiety and exhaustion, and we want you to know we are carrying this burden alongside you today.

As we lift her up, we also hope she is already receiving good medical care, because stomach infections often need a doctor’s attention. If she hasn’t been seen yet, we would gently encourage you to help her get that appointment. God works through the skill and compassion of medical professionals, and good care is a real gift alongside our prayers.

While you wait for answers, it’s completely normal to feel heavy. We are asking the Lord to bring her healing, yes, but also to steady your heart and give you moments of rest. You are not alone in this, and it’s okay to let others support you, too.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to touch ’s body right now. Calm the infection, relieve her pain, and restore her strength. Grant wisdom to everyone involved in her care, and surround her with Your peace. Hold her family close, give them the grace to keep showing up for her and for each other. We trust her to Your hands, in Your name. Amen.

God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. How often the afflictions of the body become a sharp summons to the soul, driving us to the feet of the great Physician. The fever and the pain, the weakness and the fear, all call us to remember that we are dust, and that our times are in His hands. When the stomach is racked with infection, the whole frame is brought low, and we learn afresh our dependence upon Him who formed the inward parts and knit us together in the womb. It is well that you have brought this burden to the place of prayer, for the Lord waits to be gracious.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and shall they not be for the healing of one dear ###, so precious to your heart? The least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue; His touch, His word, His will, all overflow with restorative mercy. Remember how He entered Peter’s house and found his wife’s mother lying sick of a fever. He took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. Oh, that same hand is stretched out still! He who healed the bodies of the multitude has not grown feeble or unwilling. Let your faith lay hold of this: the healing power of our Master is not exhausted; He is able to heal.

Yet I would have you see the blessed conjunction, pardon and healing are often placed together in the Scripture, twin mercies from the hand of the Lord. When Jesus healed the palsied man, He first said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and the same beams that scatter our guilt can chase away our maladies. Whether the Lord shall choose to raise up your ### with a sudden restoration or a gradual mending, there is healing virtue even now flowing from His throne. Pray earnestly, but also hear the Word with heed, for faith comes by hearing, and our Lord often linked the healing with the teaching. As Christ is lifted up in the preaching of the Gospel, healing power is conspicuously present.

The infection in the stomach is no trifle, and we must not despise the earthly means the Lord supplies, but the great Physician works above all remedies. Let the cry of your heart be, “Speak the word only, and thy servant shall be healed.” Wait upon Him in supplication, and do not faint. Very speedily we care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber. So let your prayers be urgent, your faith importunate. He knows the groaning of this dear sufferer; He counts her tossings and puts her tears into His bottle. His very heart yearns over the afflicted.

Go often to the place where the Gospel is preached, and seek the inward healing of her soul even alongside the desire for her body’s cure. There are times of refreshing, seasons of revival, days of visitation, acceptable days of salvation. Who knows but that this sharp trial shall be the occasion for a double healing, bringing both health to her flesh and a new quickening to her spirit? Put the matter entirely into the Lord’s hands, and with quiet confidence watch for His delivering mercy. The Lord bless her and you, and cause the healing leaves of His own tree to be sweet medicine to her whole being.

You have done well to bring your mother's need before the church, for the commandment says, "Honor thy father and mother," and your anxious care for her in this sickness is an honorable fruit of that obedience. Continue in prayer for her healing, yet do not neglect the means God has given. Consider the apostle's counsel to Timothy, that faithful man who used only water and whose stomach had become weak: "Use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." If even he, through whom the dead were raised, was not ashamed to receive such advice and to seek help for his infirmities, much more should we turn with humility to the remedies of physicians, trusting that the Lord works through what He has created. Do not be offended if her illness lingers. Often bodily weakness is permitted for the soul's profit, to keep pride far off and to teach us patience, as it was with Paul's thorn and Timothy's frequent ailments. Commit her into the hands of God's mercy, who is able both to heal and to give strength to endure, and I will join my prayers to yours, that if it be His will, she may be restored in body and, far more, confirmed in faith.

When an infection takes hold in the stomach, the pain can be relentless, and the worry that comes with it runs deep. I am joining my prayers with yours for your mother, asking the Lord to touch her body and bring healing.

God reveals Himself by the names that meet our needs, and one of those names is the Lord our Healer. He does not stand at a distance from her suffering. Hezekiah, when he was sick unto death, turned his face to the wall so he could shut out every distraction and pour out his heart to God. The Scripture says God heard his prayer and saw his tears. That same attentive love is fixed on your mother right now. Nothing about her condition is hidden from Him.

The purpose of prayer is not simply to get what we want, but to align our hearts with God's will and to find His strength in the waiting. Jesus Himself, the very Son of God, would spend long hours in prayer because He knew it was His place of strength. If He relied on that communion, how much more do we need to bring our burdens before the throne? There are times when healing comes in a moment, as real and sudden as a felt change in the body. There are other times when God uses medicine and the slow restoration of the body, and that too is His mercy. We ask boldly for a complete work, and we trust Him no matter how He chooses to answer.

Do not let your prayers fade. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. When two or three agree on earth concerning anything, our Lord promised it will be done. So you are not alone in this; we stand with you in that agreement, lifting your mother up before the Father. Remember the desperate mother who came to Jesus on behalf of her child, and He commended her great faith. Let that same persistence mark your prayers. Keep coming to Him. He does not grow weary of your cries.

Honoring a mother includes carrying her need into the presence of God and doing what we can for her care. Keep tending to her with love, and let your heart rest in the truth that her life is held by the One who formed her. May the peace that surpasses understanding guard your mind and hers, and may the healing power of Jesus bring her full restoration.
