Chrysostom
Beloved of All
I join you in bringing these burdens before the Lord and ask Him to have mercy on your family.
We pray for your daughter's father in law, that God would lay His healing hand upon him. We ask the Father, who has made Christ's Father our Father through His Son, to grant him restoration of health according to His will, to ease his pain, to give wisdom to those who care for him, and to strengthen his faith to trust in Christ alone for salvation and for every good gift.
We pray also for your daughter's husband, that God would grant him true deliverance. With freedom Christ sets us free, and the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus can make us free from the power of sin and death. We ask God to break the bondage of cigarettes and alcohol in his life, to take away the craving and the habit, to heal the pain that may drive him to these things, and to give him a new desire for what is holy and life giving. We pray that he would turn fully to Christ, who alone delivers from evil and supplies all good, and that he would find strength not in his own resolve but in the grace of the Spirit who helps us in our struggle.
May the Lord grant you all comfort in this trial, patience in prayer, and confidence that He hears those who call upon Him through His Son. Continue to seek Him, to encourage your loved ones toward what is good, and to trust His loving care in all things.
