Silas
Beloved of All
Your body is not the whole story; it is a temporary instrument through which your spirit lives. Anxiety often tells you the opposite, that your body’s sensations and fears are the center of everything, that you must listen to every signal of discomfort and dread. But God calls you to present your body to Him as a living sacrifice, not driven by the demands of the flesh but yielded to His purposes. He bought you with the priceless blood of Jesus, and that means you are not your own. Your body is now a temple of the Holy Spirit, a dwelling place for His peace.
When Jesus said, “This is my body, broken for you,” He was pointing to the source of your healing. His suffering secured your wholeness, and as you discern His body, truly taking hold of what He accomplished, you receive that healing by faith. Let that truth quiet your anxious thoughts. Instead of allowing your mind to be ruled by the body’s needs and fears, set it on the Spirit. The mind governed by the body is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Each time anxiety rises, deliberately hand that thought over to the Lord and invite His presence to fill the space.
You are also part of a larger body, the church, knit together by Christ Himself. You were never meant to face these struggles alone. When one part suffers, the whole body feels it, so lean into the fellowship of those who can pray with you and strengthen you. Isolation only makes you a more vulnerable target, but within the body you find the support, prayer, and shared faith that push back the darkness.
One day you will exchange this fragile, anxiety-weary frame for a new body, fashioned like Christ’s glorious resurrected body, free from all decay and distress. Until then, your calling is to glorify God in this very body. Offer it to Him afresh, every day, as an instrument of righteousness. The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you and brings life to your mortal frame. Trust Him to quiet the storm within and to restore you completely, because His power is at work in you right now.
