What a treasure it is that you are bringing your family before the Lord this way, asking for His healing and protection. The God we approach in Jesus' name is not distant or indifferent; He is the God of peace. He takes no pleasure in evil, and His deepest desire toward you and your household is for wholeness and rest.
When you pray for healing, you are reaching for a promise anchored in the cross. The suffering of Jesus purchased more than forgiveness; by His wounds we are healed. Your request touches both body and soul, and that is exactly right. He cares about every part of you and every member of your family, and He is able to restore what is broken.
Your plea also asks to be delivered from evil. That is a prayer Jesus Himself taught us to pray, and it runs right through the whole of Scripture: "Depart from evil, and it will be health to your body and strength to your bones." The Lord desires to keep your feet from the paths where harm lurks. That does not mean we live in fear; it means we live in wisdom. The wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, then peaceable. When you seek that wisdom, when you honor God and turn from what He calls evil, you find a path that is itself peace. His commands are not burdensome; they are a shield.
It may be that right now you cannot see the end of some trouble, and the world around you looks deeply broken. You are not forgotten. Long ago the Lord spoke to people who felt trapped and far from home: "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." He has not changed. Your prayer for peace is an echo of His own intention for you. Jesus Christ is our peace. He has already broken down the wall that separated us from God, and the moment you turned to Him, the war stopped. You are no longer running, no longer fighting; you belong to Him. That is a foundation nothing can shake.
So hold on to this: the peace He gives is not a fragile truce that depends on circumstances. It is a deep, settled confidence that comes when you keep your mind stayed on Him, trusting in His goodness. As you fix your eyes on Jesus, that peace will guard your heart and your loved ones. Even in the valley of the shadow of death, you need not fear evil, for He is with you.
Continue to pour out your heart to your Father. He hears. He will cover your family with His protection, and He will lead you in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. The day is coming when every trace of evil will be gone and we will dwell in a world filled with His peace forever. Until then, He has ordained peace for you right where you are. Walk in it, and let it fill your home.
