Disciple of Prayer
I'm ### years old. I just got out of a tough relationship. I've never been married but would love to start a family and meet a stable, life long partner. I've been through many rough breakups and would like to heal my heart, move on, and find lasting love. Thank you for your prayers. I'm quite desperate and hoping i can get through.

We have heard your request and we join you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name for the healing of your broken heart after this tough relationship and the many rough breakups you have endured. We understand your desperation and your deep and good desire to be married and to start a family, and we bring that desire before the Lord with you.

We are encouraged that you want healing and lasting love, for God cares deeply about the brokenhearted. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We pray that you will experience His nearness now and allow Him to do the mending that only He can do, rather than rushing to fill the void with another relationship before you are healed.

We want to gently speak truth in love about God's design for lasting love, because His way leads to stability. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we want to endorse marriage strongly for you rather than simply finding a partner. Your desire for a stable lifelong spouse and a family is God honoring, and we pray God will prepare you for that covenant. In our culture courtship is often treated casually, but in scripture a man and woman who are not married are to pursue each other with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, guarding purity and holiness along the way. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14. Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. If there has been sex outside of marriage in these past relationships, which God calls fornication, we encourage you to confess it before Him, receive His forgiveness, and commit to purity going forward, for He is faithful to forgive and to make you whole. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only by His name that we have access to God and lasting healing. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus not only as healer but as Savior and Lord, and to seek a spouse who has done the same, so that your future marriage can be built on Christ.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You see the pain of this recent breakup and the wounds from many rough breakups before it. We ask You to heal this broken heart, to bind up every wound, to comfort the loneliness and desperation, and to replace despair with hope. Help this one to wait on You and to find identity and wholeness in Christ before seeking another relationship. Forgive any sin and wash it away by the blood of Jesus, and teach a new way of courtship that honors You with purity and wisdom. Lead this one to a godly Christian spouse in Your perfect timing, a marriage that reflects Your covenant love and lasts for life, and if it is Your will, bless that marriage with children and a family that serves You. Give peace that passes understanding, guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and remind this one daily that Your plans are for welfare and not for calamity, to give a future and a hope Jeremiah 29:11. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted in God's Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can be discipled and where you may in time meet a godly spouse through wholesome community. Do not let desperation drive you to settle for less than God's best. Wait patiently for Yahweh Psalm 27:14 and let Him prepare you while He prepares your future spouse. We are praying that God will turn this season of heartbreak into a season of deep healing and preparation for the lasting love and family you so desire.

We were so moved by your honesty. Coming out of another painful breakup while carrying the deep hope to be married and have a family can leave you feeling both heartbroken and desperate, and we want you to know we are praying for you.

It makes sense you want to move on quickly, and it also makes sense your heart needs time. Healing after repeated loss is rarely instant. It often comes slowly as you allow yourself to grieve, to name what hurt, and to invite God into those tender places, rather than pushing through alone. That process also helps protect your next steps, so old wounds do not quietly shape a new relationship.

One gentle next step we would encourage is to not walk this season alone. Consider sharing regularly with one or two trusted believers, a pastor or a Christian counselor, who can listen well and walk with you over time. Being known in steady community can bring comfort now and wisdom as you discern what lasting love could look like going forward.

We are asking God to meet you in this ache and to lead you day by day.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see this broken heart and the longing for family and lifelong love. Bring Your comfort and healing in Your timing, give wisdom for each next decision, and surround them with faithful people who reflect Your care. Guide their steps and keep their heart close to You. Amen.

Your cry has come before the Lord and before His people, and we have carried your broken heart to Him in prayer. To be broken in heart through sorrow and disappointment is a deep affliction, and yet the Lord has a tender regard for such wounds. It is written, He has come to bind up the broken in heart, and there is no heart so bruised that His grace cannot console and heal.

Know this for your comfort, that as the Healer of broken hearts God has chosen One whose own heart was broken. Jesus went up to the cross and gave His hands and His feet to the nails and His heart to the spear, and that heart once pierced is now the fountain of healing for you. Bring your poor broken heart to the heart that was pierced for sinners and find sweetest rest in Him. Even the least thing about Christ is healing. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and a single word from His lips, a single leaf from the Tree of Life, brought home to the soul, brings healing to head and heart, to conscience and affection.

We have prayed that the Lord would heal the gangrene of unbelief and despair which so readily seeks to enter a humbled and wounded spirit, and that He would not merely quiet your pain but cause the bones which He has broken to rejoice. He is able to make a broken heart whole, not by making it hard or indifferent, but by binding it up with His own consolations.

We have also prayed that in this season of waiting He would draw your heart wholly to Himself. He often takes away the objects of our attachment and breaks our idols, not in unkindness, but to keep us from a divided heart and to teach us to love Him above all. Seek Him first with your whole heart and soul, and long above all to find Christ. The Word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart, that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. There is salvation in no other, and there is no healing apart from Him.

Your desire for marriage and for a family is a good and honorable desire. We pray that the Lord, if it be His gracious will for you, would in His perfect time provide a stable, lifelong partner according to His design, a covenant of one man and one woman for life, where love is faithful and pure and where intimacy is kept within that covenant alone. We ask Him to prepare you for that calling, to guard your conduct and to make you steadfast in what is pleasing in His sight, and to keep you from hastening in desperation into that which would grieve Him or wound you further. Do not trifle with Him, but set your heart upon finding Christ and walking in His ways, trusting that He knows what you need and when you need it.

May the Lord who sees your tears and hears your prayers give you hope in God, health to your countenance, and peace that passes understanding. May He lift you from despair, establish your steps, and cause you yet to praise Him. We continue to pray that you will know His nearness, His cleansing, and His restoring love day by day.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
